5th wicket partnership will not be sustain for long time. I have not watching match but still I do know about the NZ team mates. After 4 wicket itself they will not be able to find the stability but some luck on their for this day.

Australia seemed to have pulled it back a little in the test match against South Africa. South Africa were 247/2 at one stage, with Markram and de Villiers at the crease. They were staring at a humongous total, but a few quick wickets resulted in South Africa ending day 1 at 313/6. South Africa look set to score 400, but were looking a lot stronger after 2 sessions today.

Currently, SA at 351 runs and still got four wickets in the first innings. If they continue to play good cricket then they may reach around 450 runs in this innings and which will be a very good total to put some pressure on Australia batsman. Australia also lost the two very good batsmen (both captain and vise captain) so it may be difficult for them to fight in this match but let's see how it goes.

It is a very good start for SA and if they can ad 75 runs more to the total then it will be a good score and then they can start putting pressure by picking quick wickets of OZ. Also their moral will be down of what has happened to OZ in last test match thus it should be a SA game unless something extremely OZ players do well.

Australia is in a really bad situation and they are not having their best team after the controversy and they lost their best players in that and it is hard for them to come back in this situation, South Africa does have a strong bowling line up and if they could pick the wicket of Tim Paine in the morning session then they will be forced to follow on.

This is exactly my opinion too in this regard, after all it is just a game of cricket and they have taken this as a grave offense like drug scandal or match fixing , i have read an article recently about comparing Warner to Kevin Peterson about how he was dropped from the team because of his bad influence and that might happen to Warner too, what ever it is Australia is losing two best players that could have a match on their own.

For all practical purposes, I don't think that either Steven Smith or David Warner will represent Australia again. Too bad that they were not playing for countries such as India or Pakistan, where even lifetime bans for players indulging in match fixing were overturned.

SA should give them follow on and ask them to bat again and get them all out quickly so that SA win the match by an innings and some runs. But will SA give them follow on or will they come to bat for 2nd time is the question we would need to wait and watch.

South Africa have taken an interesting decision of not enforcing the follow on. They are not taking any risks, with the lead now extending beyond 400. They possibly wanted to give their bowlers some rest, before attacking Australia again. Australia's top order didn't really make an impact in the first innings and I don't think many will give them a chance of batting for a draw in this match.
