Very nice site. I found out my account is not worthless after all  Grin
What is the criteria for a normal account and merchant account? I haven't made many trades on here but I've eaten my fair share in one sitting.

The merchant option hides information that could be used to identify an account. It's used by account sellers.

Great work and very cool of you to open source it. I'm not planning on selling my account, but it's kinda fun to know what the value of it is.
Are the prices pretty accurate or on the low or high side?

I've been told that it is been consistently high but it has been a while since I checked the prices and accuracy so I don't really know.

Given the current market, it's easy to believe that's correct for most of the (normal) accounts.

I got an estimate of around 0.11 BTC for my senior member account
Current prizes in the marketplace section would probably be even lower, although you're in the upper activity half, what brings a slightly better prize.
Btw, mine estimates at ~0.1

Not worth it to sell my account for such a low amount Smiley

I have a little problem with your tool. When I entered my UID, it showed me that I had 161 activity points when I have only 154 on Bitcointalk. It also showed me that I had a post in a No board. How could it be possible ?

You haven't posed since February and because of that the activity on the forum will be changed within 1 hour, while on the bctalkaccountpricer calculates automatically, now you have 162 activity with a potential activity of 168.

I posted in March, in fact this post is my 4th this month. However, 154+14 =/= 161, so even with your explanation, I still don't understand. And what about the No board post ?

You have potential activity and by posting you are using up that potential. Bitcointalk doesn't update the activity field immediately but my site will calculate the activity, posts, and potential activity on the spot so it is always up to date.

The No Board post is your post in the Philippines section which apparently is relatively new so I haven't added it into the list of sections yet. I probably won't do that for a while though since updating the site software requires shutting down the webserver which clears the queue and all of the saved tokens.

Okay, thank you for your nice help Smiley ! I see that my activity has been updated. I always thought that it was instant on Bitcointalk. By the way, I love your tool Wink !

This is an awesome tool, especially for the users who want to sell their account.
But I think its also be useful for signature campaign managers to check the post quality of those who want to enroll in the sig campaign.

Edit: Just donated some bits. good luck!

Nope, because a machine can't measure post quality.
The way it's done by the site, merely by the length of posts, might be sufficient for users selling their accounts. But post quality is alot more than that.
Managers (should) read the posts of those applying (also in context of the thread) to get an image of their post quality.
Something a bot/code (currently) just can't do.

This is not accurate ! A newbie account with just 2 posts is marked 0.002 BTC . Its too high for it. That's the payout of signature campaign for posting about 15 posts by a Member account. I think you should edit the algorithm.

This is not accurate ! A newbie account with just 2 posts is marked 0.002 BTC . Its too high for it. That's the payout of signature campaign for posting about 15 posts by a Member account. I think you should edit the algorithm.

With 2 posts you can have a max of 2 activity:

0.0003BTC/activity * 2 = 0.0006

Lets further assume the posts where of "excellent quality"

0.0006 * 1.05 = 0.00063

I dont know how you get to 0.002, but maybe you can help us find out whats wrong by sharing either the user ID of the account in question or the token.

Im not really here, its just your imagination.

Thanks. Looks like its because of the 26 extra potential activity. The price estimate is only very rough though, not sure if it can be fixed while staying this simple

Thanks. Looks like its because of the 26 extra potential activity. The price estimate is only very rough though, not sure if it can be fixed while staying this simple

Code:
bp (base price) = 0.0003 * activity + 0.00015 * epa
final price = bp * pqm * tm

pqm (post quality multiplier) determined by ratio of good posts (>75 characters excluding quoted text) to bad posts (<75 characters excluding quotes)
very poor (<50%) = -1.05 (-5%)

(0.0003*2+0.00015*26)*0.95= 0.004275

As shorena said, the estimate is both very rough and kept simple.
It might bring up too high numbers for newbies, however we don't see newbie accounts sold/bought often anyway,
and for higher ranked users (besides all prices being a little higher than what you can expect to get) it's pretty fine IMO.
