I'm probably the biggest fan of professional chess on bitcointalk (albeit a mere kibitzer) so I'm watching this thread closely.

Come on, bitcointalk.

OP, are you a GM, IM, ranked on 2700chess.com, etc?

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

If white represents bitcointalk community, my next move would be a2 to a3 . There must be some way to make the elephant escape.

Thanks for your support! I am a big fan of the bitcoin community.

Yes I am a GM and ranked on that list.  I happen to know that there are at least two others on the list very interested in bitcoin. I may ask one of them what he thinks about the current bitcoin XT debates.  I am following the issue and have some opinions but keeping an open mind.

5. Qa4+.

5. Qa4+ looks good. Then on the next move we can capture the pawn on c4

So does anyone have any guesses about who we are playing?

This guy suggested the same move as I previously did, is that movement banned or something? This time it was not event discussed...

Why do not you simply play each other so that you won't have to wait 48 hours to make each movement?

I would not mind simply watching the match, actually I just came back to the thread to delete my suggestion and not bother the other guy (it seems that a consensus was magically reached, though).
Yeah, I said Bishop to Queen-4 and he totally condescended to me about how it's a stupid move. What a jerk.

I never called "Bishop to Queen-4" a stupid move. I said it was an illegal (impossible) move. Then I directed you to the rules of chess and algebraic notation.

Like I said before I don't want to be in charge of finding consensus for bitcointalk. If you want to appoint someone to tally votes for different moves and moderate any debate go ahead.

I am interested to play chess online. Does anyone know how can I play chess online for real money? Is there any secure page for playing chess for money,  because on the internet has a lot of fake web pages? I tried to find any page, but I did not find.

Short answer:

Don't play strangers for money online unless it is for purely entertainment with a trivial amount of money.
