It seems that Livecoin.net is hacked/ compromised/ out of control. I really hope that this is not a scam exit... From early this morning markets are acting more than weird there and it seems that something is seriously wrong. There site showing this message from now... so they changed website into this warning. which means they have (got back) the access to their servers or domain and hosting at least. the excuse of compromising all news channels doesn't sound valid to me. I think they are just making baseless excuses. it's a 100% scam exit from them. there is a lot of ways to announce that data breach. they are saying it happened many months ago. and they couldn't warn uses before. seems not right to me.

It's an obvious exit scam from livecoin they lure traders by taking a trade there with a price go to 320k$ per BTC which will be the reason to others traders to move their funds there since they have high price compared to other exchange. Lukcyly I don't have any balance anymore in that exchange even cointelegraph think the same it's a well plan exit scam https://cointelegraph.com/news/livecoin-exchange-goes-offline-after-bitcoin-price-reportedly-exceeds-320k.

It appears Livecoin finally exit scammed with hack excuse claiming that their servers are out of their control This all happened in time of Bitcoin ATH and people warned about them many times in bitcointalk forum, there is even red warning on their topic. It is better not to risk trading on centralized exchanges like this.

Holy crap--aTriz is back?? I haven't seen you around in like forever. Wow. I was going to start a thread about this, but since this one has been bumped it probably would be a waste of time. One thing I wanted to hear about was from people who might have gotten funds stuck on Livecoin before they went dark. I know they weren't exactly the most popular exchange out there, but I'm sure they did some business and had quite a few customers. As I said in another thread, I got extremely lucky this month. I made several small deposits of bitcoin and a corresponding number of trades, and I was able to withdraw the Curecoin I bought each time. Then I was going to make another deposit when I saw the big black screen telling everyone they got haxxed. Personally, I don't believe a word of it after seeing formerly reputable exchanges like Cryptsy and others pull exit scams after years of being legit. Hopefully people's losses weren't too bad, and I also hope there's a chance that their funds aren't lost entirely....but I wouldn't keep my hopes up. It is better not to risk trading on centralized exchanges like this.
True, but if you're like me and you only want to buy an obscure coin like CURE, you have to go where the market is. It's listed on BTCPOP (which I think is decentralized), but the prices there are outrageous.

They likely have more than one server, and any servers that are public facing are likely separate from their back end, and wallet servers. If there are any actual loss of funds, which I assume there are, I don’t think it will make a difference of if this is an exit scam or not.

Altilly exchange seems to be doing a similar exit scam, they literary mimic Livecoin behaviour. Check their website https://altilly.com/

at one point their 24 hours trading valume reached to $800 million in Coinmarketcap. so yeah. even it was not a very famous exchange like Binance but it still had a lot of users and hundred of millions were being traded everyday. and I don't think all of them got a chance to withdraw their funds as they suddenly closed the website without any prior warning. As I said in another thread, I got extremely lucky this month. I made several small deposits of bitcoin and a corresponding number of trades, and I was able to withdraw the Curecoin I bought each time. I think whatever left inside the exchange of users are lost. only those funds are safe which got a chance to withdraw them before shut down. Altilly exchange seems to be doing a similar exit scam, they literary mimic Livecoin behaviour. Check their website https://altilly.com/Lol. I was kind of expecting this . altilly exchange was very suspicious for me even before.

I'm one of them from yesterday since I have there some XFC's, DOGE, NMC, and some others. Didn't have much but after the prices go crazy and make an outrageous bull run (like DOGE @177 sats...) I start "trading" (more playing) and I saw at the end my balance to be a little less than 0.1 BTC... Also (and since I was live atm), I saw this rally first hand and I can say with full certainty that not all prices and currencies were affected, the same goes for their matching wallets. BTC, ETH, LTC and USDT were on for deposit but you couldn't withdraw with the excuse of an "Update". The same goes for DOGE but without any info regarding the only deposit procedure available. So it seems that whoever does that "hacking", has a plan to hit the most major ones and fish any deposit that he can get from any client that was online.

I hope you did not had big amount of coins in your live coin exchange wallet. because currently it's not possible to withdraw anything from them as the website is offline. and I don't think the exchange's owners will come up with anything or return users money. I am sure they will blame it to the scammers.

Online petitions do absolutely nothing, and they've been around since the beginning of the internet. That's the wrong route to go. Contacting some branch of law enforcement in China (or wherever Livecoin is/was located) is probably the only reasonable solution to recovering your funds, assuming Livecoin doesn't fix this themselves--and my gut is telling me that not only aren't they going to do that, but that they're responsible for this mess. I think this is their exit scam. I saw at the end my balance to be a little less than 0.1 BTC... F..f..f..f..uuuuuck!!! I'm sorry to hear you got burned, bro. I'm grateful that I just happened to get lucky, but chances are that had I made one more deposit I would be in the same boat (albeit with less money lost, since I never trusted Livecoin with anything more than like $40 at a time). This sucks for everyone who got burned, don't get me wrong. I feel badly for everyone who had money there, and I'm hoping at least some of it can be recovered somehow.

Livecoin, along with some other "shady" exchanges are located in Russia, and from my experience (and others around here of course) any exchange there can do (literally) whatever they want. Police won't move a finger... I saw at the end my balance to be a little less than 0.1 BTC... F..f..f..f..uuuuuck!!! I'm sorry to hear you got burned, bro. As I said those funds came out of playing/ trading with (mostly) DOGE and USDT. My assets there were near to $150 in total, and BTC hold the last place between them. So I can't say that I'm too butthurt from this blow but for sure I would love to see those earnings in my wallet. Unfortunately, even if I'm considered an optimistic person, I don't see how we will get any of our funds from there... P.S: Ofc I don't get you wrong bro.

Looks like the databases of who earns what are now encrypted forever. so this is basically the same as altilly. they say they lost all backups. difficult to believe. and the same that happened to BTC-E / WEX with the manipulated exchange rates. crap. this is the problem with anonymous exchanges. Even if they got hacked for real they are not going to go to the police and make themselves public. they can be hold for ransom or worse.

That's what I've said a couple of times in my argument that this is a scam instead of a hack. The fact that they're not attempting to contact their customers to make them whole is evidence of that--in addition to the fact that nothing about this supposed hack makes much sense, as pointed out by suchmoon and a couple other members. This is the reason why you should never keep funds on an exchange, and if you didn't know that before, let this be an expensive 0.2 BTC lesson that you learn. I seriously doubt that anybody who had coins on Livecoin is going to get anything back, though I'm hoping for the best. So basically, the "hacker(s)" blackmail Livecoin owners to deposit an amount into this address? And from where is this message? Can you please explain a bit? I don't think anybody knows any more than what Livecoin has announced, which is jack shit. If they were at all concerned about their customers, they'd create an alt account here and start communicating. Obviously they're not doing that, which is another reason why I think this is nothing more than an exit scam.

Nonsense I made much more than 0.2 BTC by leaving my stuff on the exchanges. Just today I caught the Fun pump. Sold 100k fun coins and an hour later the 400% gain was gone. Just diversify a bit so you can afford the hacks..
Livecoin was by far my smallest account. But would still like the money back
