is quark mineable by asic or just gpu?

if gpu, what brand cards work best?

I want to see if it's worth solo mining on my NVidia cards while polls are still down

There is no ASIC for quark. Generally speaking, GPU's that do good on X11 will do good on quark.

You might want to see this: http://mininghwcomparison.com/list/index.php?brand=both

When the wallet says: "1 year and 25 weeks" it does not mean it will take 1 year and 25 weeks to sync  Cheesy Had some questions about this. People are thinking that it will take that time to sync.

No it is not necessary. It should have 3 active nodes "out of the box".

I have updated the bootstrap: http://www.amsterdamcoin.com/download/bootstrap.zip Just overwrite all in %appdata%/AmsterdamCoin2

This will give you lots of nodes and brings you to the latest block.

No bro.

1. Close the wallet.

2. The files in bootstrap zip are:

smsgDB
txlevldb
blk0001.dat
peers.dat

3. Put these in  C:\Users\YOUR NAME USER\AppData\Roaming\AmsterdamCoin2

4. Restart the wallet

5. In a once it will be sync.

DEV I received AMS thank you for the big work.

Use the bootstrap follow these instructions: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1152947.msg18802710#msg18802710

Orphans can happen. Some nodes are still old and are sending out lots of orphans.

I want to see if it's worth solo mining on my NVidia cards while polls are still down

There is no ASIC for quark. Generally speaking, GPU's that do good on X11 will do good on quark.

You might want to see this: http://mininghwcomparison.com/list/index.php?brand=both

There is a asic multi miner for quark, baikal mini miner, but they are sold out everywhere, and a new baikal cube miner which just got released is also sold out everywhere
https://asicminermarket.com/product/x11-asic-baikal-mini-miner-spec/

I noticed that nvidia cards are much better for quark than amd cards, I mine ethereum which is better on amd cards

these are my test results, quark algorithm
amd rx 480   6.4mh/s
amd rx 470   5.2mh/s
nvidia gtx 970   17mh/s
nvidia gtx 980   20mh/s
nvidia gtx 980ti 26mh/s
nvidia gtx 1070   26mh/s
