Ok, so I'm gathering Phantom Alpha is what's on the testnet. So this project has already achieved more than MAID has and MAID won't even do as much. We should be eating into that 75m market cap already. 2 mil is ridiculous. People must be accumulating, because SHIFT is way underhyped.

Just read like 15 pages didnt read it all my bad got some questions though. seems like a interesting project! Try to get my head around ipfs. Its a open source file sharing project that is implemented in shift running currently on testnet right?

How will this work exactly?
what will you be able to do with it?

I see a lot of comparison with maid but I dont understand maid seems very different to me since they have no blockhain at all and arent using any existing protocol like ipfs, but writing it from scratch in rust. I dont think there trying the same thing here or am I wrong?

if I understand correctly(probably not) its not only the decentralization of web hosting but also file sharing with each other like torrent?


Does that mean you can upload any file to the network no limited mb?

How is the data stored?

Do you have a ip adres if you are on the network?

What about security? are your files encrypted ?

Errrrrm I love shift... Really do love it..... Has been a hidden gem for a while but...... It will not destroy maidsafe.

Maid is focused heavily on decentralised, blockchainless, ultra secure, anonymous web.

Not a project in this sphere comes even close to the enormity of their goal in imo.

That being said I believe shift and maid can coexist.

Announcement: mandatory update!

For the past few weeks we have been testing a new version of Shift on our testnet. Version 6.3.0 which includes the new 7.0 Lisk code base.
A special thank you for all the members running a Shift testnet delegate!

The new version brings huge improvements in performance and efficiency. The low consensus is now fixed, so no more unnecessary missed blocks. You can read more about the improvements on Github release page: https://github.com/LiskHQ/lisk/releases/tag/0.7.0

Your delegate node has to be updated before block 600,000 (+/- Sunday, April 16).
After this block height old clients are not accepted as peers anymore!
Friday, April 7 we will announce how to update your mainnet node on this page. For now, relax while we prepare the Github branch.

Hi, welcome to SHIFT.
This is a DPoS coin (fork of Lisk) and you only be able to 'forge' SHIFT if you get enough votes to be part of the 101 active delegates, and only 101 delegates are able to 'forge'.
The other way you can get SHIFT is by voting for 'pools', when you vote for 'pools' you will get reward according to your weight.

you should not ask that on the forum its only speculation, nobody really knows so if anyone answers it should not matter since they also dont know. Try to understand shift even when its hard(I also have a hard time grasping what shift tries to accomplice but its getting a little better now) and if you believe it will fill a purpose, if there is a use for it and therefore likely be demand for it in the future its a good buy imo. you should watch out for similar projects reaching the same goal as they can compete for the same markt or just have a better approach to the problem.

If you still want to figure out what the vallue could be you can try to compare it with other (comparable)coins with a higher cap and see what they offer and if shift will be offering something more valuable in your opinion so you could see if its realistic to go above this other crypto or not. This also is very speculative since hype and pumps and dumps can go far beyond any logic.
