How do I get Forging  to turn on in 4miners shift wallet?
Forging is Disabled in wallet I sent the 60 shift to be a delegate my wallet address is daveeoff  14465029441710701481S  with 2683.58963311 SHIFT I'm raked 161

For forging you have to setup your own node. Ther you can enable it.

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Hello! I have the same situation. People are all the time extracted a coin and support network were now not needed. I look at the balance sheets of the delegates and wonder in this pyramid is absolutely not need a large amount of coins in the accounts to receive regular income, it's just silly! Who chose these delegates? Why such a big difference in the percentage of approval between 101 and 102 delegate. It looks like a conspiracy scam (((

Delegates were chosen from the people who were actively involved in the migration phase and sought a place in the 101 delegates during the time when we went from public testnet to mainnet. However, that doesn't mean newcomers can't set up a node and get people to vote for them. Furthermore forging isn't too profitable at the moment and should barely cover costs for the node.

As we progress we'll be looking at the number of delegates carefully and increase it when it makes sense. One of our main goals is to enable anyone to participate in our network, which means that incentivized nodes for other tasks in our Phantom network will become available at some point too.

Iv been mining shift since before the first take over happen and stuck with it at one time I was the only one mining it on supernova's pool  Iv never set up a vps node before to stake coins ?What's needed after you rent the vps  .I'm just a dumb miner with a room full of gpu's that use's windows to mine this might be out of my skill set. This  puts me off on holding so much Shift. I have way more than the 2683 Shift that's in my wallet still sitting on exchange what would be the reason to keep it seams price  keeps dropping every time there's  a change to the shift team I'v seen price go from over 0.00010000 to what it is now .And now the holders of shift can't mine or stake their coins now with out renting a vps node. Not sure I like the path shift took seems like it would push people away from investing in it or holding what they have .Just my feelings anyhow hope to see it gain more support and do good

It's actually pretty easy to set up a VPS through Digital Ocean. For $10 a month you can get up and running and Digital Ocean has fantastic tutorials on how to set up users, SSH, etc on Ubuntu. With very little experience in any sort of Linux distro I was able to get going fairly easily. The shift install is just a one liner and then editing a config file to allow your IP to connect to the node. The slack channel was a big help there. If you can figure out how to build rigs, optimize GPUs, and set up mining software, you're definitely capable of setting up a delegate node on a VPS.

The only difference now from before is that miners can't just mindlessly mine and dump (that was me when I first started mining the coin  Grin). There needs to be more involvement with the community to get your delegate voted up into the top 101 to forge. There's still some profit to be made, but it's more about the faith in the future of Phantom and the network than profit now.

DEVELOPMENT UPDATE OCT 23 | UPDATE TO SHIFT 5.1.0

We have released Shift v5.1.0. This update is mandatory and we urge users and especially delegates to update
as soon as possible. You can find the update on GitHub

This update brings a lot of security fixes to the LISK codebase that we have developed and tested over the last
weeks since mainnet launch:

  • Improved escaping of string insertions into the database
  • Automatic blacklisting and min version in constants.js[/i]
  • API improvements and new methods for voting

For more details please see the release notes on GitHub.

We are proud to emphasize that this is custom code for SHIFT, which is not present in LISK and we hope that
we can officially contribute to LISK's core development more over time.

Hi compmaster,

sorry for the delay, there's a lot of things on the agenda and validating the manual swaps is a cumbersome
process. Any and all swap requests are being answered and processed if the conditions are met.

Please get in touch again.

Thanks. He's at least in contact with me so that's a good sign. I just want to make sure I get my coins one day. I have no plans to sell them.

Don't burn my coins!

Any updates?

It's been a bit silent but we have been working on Shift around the clock. There will be a conclusive update about
what's been going on and what is coming up in the next weeks.

We can't say much at this point as we are working out a new and exciting partnership and the details still need to
be finalized  but please check back over the next days, we plan to have the announcement ready by Wednesday.

DEVELOPMENT UPDATE NOV 9 | New Website, New Look & Roadmap

Hi SHIFT community,

a few weeks have passed and things have settled down. Today, we wanted to give you a little overview of where
we have come from and where we are going.

The basic idea behind Phantom was always to give users a new, resilient, secure and low cost way of sharing and
storing content. Many of you may probably not know that we already had a working alpha release for this in public
testing on our legacy chain before we were forced to migrate to a different codebase. Our achievements included
a custom html based dashboard that enabled users to interact with the command line interface and our custom
developed API calls to access Phantom.

Logged in, users were able to publish data on the network and register domains on our blockchain that would serve
as interpreters to direct site queries. Once published to Phantom, the data would get replicated in true peer to peer
fashion to nodes and visitors, with users serving content for other users without a single point of failure. The more
your site got visited, the more it would spread and the more resilient it would become until it was fully meshed.

After we were forced to abandon the old chain we quickly realized that this incident was a blessing in disguise. Not
only does the new codebase hold much more promise in terms of efficiency and simplicity for development, we have
also added two new team members to our development team already, which was barely possible due to the prior
restrictions of finding capable Golang developers.

During the migration we saw immensely increased interest in our project and a big influx of new users to our Slack,
which grew from a small community of 70 users to a size of now 325 community members, a lot of them active
on a daily basis, contributing to our ecosystem and helping each other.
It is also worth noting that we are already allowing users to forge on mainnet with 101 delegate spots filled
mostly by community members. All while running a stable network.

We have already contributed own security fixes to the codebase to strengthen it against potential attack
vectors and we are keeping communication with LISK very close and constant, after Max Kordek's outrwach to us.
We hope to increase our efforts in contributing to the core development of both projects and have also received a
lot of support from the LISK development team.

While official announcements from us have gotten silent, work on the new and improved Phantom release has been
progressing steadily and we are happy to say that we have an early version in private testing. While the legacy
version was based on Zeronet, we decided to use this opportunity and focus on adapting IPFS (interplanetary
filesystem) to our blockchain.

This will give us much greater capabilities for storing large amounts of data, while keeping the basic idea behind
Phantom intact. Since IPFS on its own is "merely" a file storage system, the necessary routing to find data will be
done through smart contracts on the blockchain. Attaching IPFS to blockchain has many benefits for our project,
two of the most prominent ones are incentives to store a user's data in a tiered fashion, which enables users to
pay for increased backup "depth" on a fully meshed architecture, and the ability to embed a hash of the data on
the blockchain permanently to avoid any alteration, to prove ownership or as a use for other verification like an
identity system.

While development has always been our strong side, we admit that we lack marketing. Which is why we will soon
be starting a marketing outreach, kicking off with a much improved website and blog that gives better insight into
our goals, development milestones and progress. Shortly after we will be running a social media campaign through
TVE (The Viral Exchange) to effectively increase awareness in the wider crypto community.

There is still more to come over the next days as we are currently negotiating a collaboration with a new partner
that has approached us, as well as a lot of exciting developments that have been going on behind the scenes, not
covered in this overview.

To begin all this we will be announcing our new roadmap with an estimated timeline for release dates
on Monday, the 14th, with the website launch following on Tuesday.
