Real Madrid is not what it used to be with Cristiano playing for them, no matter that they don't accept this statement because of their pride.
The attacking division creates a lot of opportunities but they fail to conclude them, Barcelona creates less but are far more cost effective as they conclude better than Real Madrid.

Lots of Real’s main players are in their 30’s, it’s the natural decline of every great team. Nothing lasts forever, I’m sure they’ll buy big in the summer & go again.

I'm not sure there will be a major overhaul to team squad as long as Perez remains president of the club, Managers and some players have spoken out about the president dictating the shot to be taken by coaches, I also read about Zidane and Ronaldo leaving the club due to a similar issue. Here's a quote from one of Ronaldo's interview "I felt it inside the club, especially from the president, that they no longer thought of me like they did at the start"
"The president looked at me through eyes that didn’t want to say the same thing, as if I was no longer indispensable to them, if you know what I mean. That’s what made me think about leaving."

True but I think Perez has also been a problem lately. He does not respect legends at all. I know Ronaldo is old, but he was the fear factor at Madrid. When you take Ronaldo out without any serious replacement, you certainly make the team look less fearless. I don't think Zidane wanted to leave, but he left because of pressure knowing well in his mind that anytime, ungrateful Perez would just fire him at will. Perez just need to quit too if Madrid is to come back strong. Also there are rumors that Mourihno might get back to Real Madrid... very bad news in my opinion

You mean Mourihno, right? Because, I was talking about Mour. For Mour's case, his return is very likely. Mour mostly cares about the money, and he has done it before at Chelsea... But he's not the kind of Coach for Real Madrid right now. I feel he will just make things worse with his defensive kind of approach which is not Los Blancos style. Ronaldo, Di Maria and Ozil who used to catch teams on the break with counter-attacking football are long gone unless there is a complete overhaul in the team.

I wasn't making reference to Mourinho, I think he'd definitely take the job if he's being approached, I was actually talking about Zidane, I saw him on a list of managers that could be hired by Madrid.

About Zidane - as long Perez is president of Real, it's impossible that he would return. And Mourinho - I doubt that he would be best option for Real Madrid. Even if Real will buy Hazard or another big star, I don't think that it would solve their problems. Most of people think that main reason of terrible Real results is loss of CR7. But I think there is another factor - many of important Real players aren't in their prime anymore like Benzema, Bale. Kroos and Modric also having bad season. I think Real need for rebuild of team to make new "Los Galacticos". But it seems that Perez don't want to open his wallet.

it's no longer a reason, real Madrid has the worst period this season. lost several times at home and unable to defeat their closest rivals, eliminated from UCL was also the worst achievement. I think the Real Madrid squad is old-fashioned and useless. next season must immediately improve

The players are young and some of them are talented. However, it is not their fault. I think that some of them should not work there because they have a lack of skill and they cannot play at so high level and compete in Champions League and La Liga. I hate saying that because teams like Real are usually complete, but at the next transfer window, they need to sign some new players.

When the two left their president had a chance to buy a big player like Hazard or Neymar but he decided to save funds, for reasons best known to him. Also if you see the squad it’s old, and they need to replace nearly all of their current players and start fresh if they wish to compete for the title.

I can't imagine what would happen if Neymar moved to Real Madrid while at Barca, Real Madrid fans didn't like Neymar at the time. so Real Madrid fans will lick their own saliva

They don't need De Gea, neither they needed Courtois I think. They have great goalkeeper Navas, so I still can't understand why Real bought Courtois. They spend a lot of money for him instead of spending it to buy potential Ronaldo replacement or improving other positions. I very much agree with Juggy777 and posted similar thoughts in my previous post. Departure of Ronaldo and Zidane is important reason why Real went down, but they have more problems. But now it seems that Perez want to save money for reconstruction of stadium instead of buying new players.

I know today looks meaningless but if Athletico win, Barcelona have to win. We play after the Madrid game so for a few minutes at least, the 7 point gap could turn out to be 4, and that's still too uncomfortable for me as a Barca fan. For sure, we are still in control of our destiny and even if we lose when Atletico visit, we are still 1 point ahead but it would be nice to make sure it is a 7 point gap when that happens.
Surprises today you think for anyone except Barca?

Atletico Madrid are held home at halftime the score remains goalless, although they filed a somewhat very strong line up, and they haven't been to create good chances thus far, and this could eventually end as a draw.

It seemed to me that the players were looking forward to the Champions League match against Juventus. The win today was very valuable as it keeps Atletico in the solid 2nd position chasing Barcelona. Tuesday's game is more important so it is normal for the squad trying to be restful and ready for the Champions League game.

Yes, the champions league is more important to the players, and fortunately for them, they were able to win the match, thanks to the penalty awarded to them. Barcelona also won their match too, so it's still the same points difference between both teams.

Actually, 1:0 result is very common for Atletico. I haven't watched their game today, so I can't comment about it. But usually, they don't score a lot of goals. In other game Barca won against Rayo Vallecano. It wasn't easy game for Barca, because Rayo scored first. I'm a bit surprised that Barca played in main squad tonight, considering that they will have UCL match against Lyon next week. Getafe stays in 4th place after difficult win against Huesca. Their Champions league dream is alive. Best La Liga player of February Jaime Mata scored 2 goals tonight - he is on fire!

Barcelona is well prepared for their upcoming clash with OL. They just won against rayo vallecano by 3-1. Messi and Suarez both scored and both are ready for UCL match. Also Barcelona is gone closer to the laliga title. They have some few games ahead and If they can beat Atletico on next they will surely retain thier LaLiga title.I must say its been a dream year for barcelona fans because they are on CDR final, No 1 on LaLiga and still can win UCL.
