CR7 is the main reason why I'm following Serie A and according the new Juventus have reportedly reached a decision on the future of Cristiano Ronaldo after the recent speculation linking him with a return to Real Madrid. I believe transferring him to the Madrid could be the worst news for the Juventus fans

why do you think that, i did not see that Juventus is playing better with CR7, actually they were much better in the league before CR7 came to Turin, and they did not won anything in Europe with him, expected much better performance from him, but seems that these are his last seasons, maybe two-three season more and he will be definitively out, or on the way to Qatar/USA to play their league for more money, he is already 35 years old

Ronaldo's body fitness is still good at this time even as 25 years old I am sure that Juventus will play Ronaldo longer with him so there is still an opportunity for Ronaldo to win several Europeans but due to hampering this pandemic the championship for Ronaldo with Juventus will be postponed with a time not yet in specify it.
Well indeed the average player if he is old will move to a US club that often offers high salaries. I do not know what the purpose of the club is to buy a popular old player even though he will not be like before in his stamina.

The antibody load is important because some people can have low antibody load that mostly don't protect them from the virus. The same as what we see with hepatitis. You can take a hepatitis vaccine but it does not make sure that your body will be protected 100%.

The test for antibodies is not a good test.
I try to explain how it works on how I've understood it, this is not a medical point of view but a normal person point of view.

You have a 30% chance to have a false positive from other Coronavirus (flu or other seasonal viruses).

IF they say "you are ok cause you to have antibodies on your body it will be a massacre.

If they find you positive and THAN they will do to you the normal COVID test (the one 7 hours long) than it can be a good thing.

Am I the only one thinking that it is more urgent to resume Serie A before Copa Itallia? The copa can wait, it can be delayed by 6 months? a year? played even after Copa 2021? +with spectators ++

This plus that document that was leaked^[1] a few days ago seem to suggest that the football leagues will resume very very soon.

I'm in Italy and this is bullshit, it is too early, we have not reached the peak yet, be ready for the second wave of infections...

As long as we do not get some sort of injection we are not going to get over this at all. I mean think about it, there is no "cure" yet and that means people are staying in lockdown so the numbers may go down but as soon as people go out what will happen? Are you willing to test that theory, lets say there are 10k infected people left in all of Italy and zero death, that sounds great right? Would you let everyone go out and live the life comfortably like the old days with those numbers? I wouldn't personally accept it, you know why?

Because, we have no cure and that 10k people could restart all of this once again and without the cure we will be right where we started. Sorry but no football for Italy and no football for the world for a little bit more while until we find a cure.

Ronaldo made the Italian league more popular and more marketable, so not just you, but many others fancied the league immediately Ronaldo went to italy. Ronaldo leaving Juventus for Real Madrid is a fake news, Ronaldo and "Madrid" no longer have mutual respect for each other and imo it's impossible for Ronaldo to return to Madrid.

Because, we have no cure and that 10k people could restart all of this once again and without the cure we will be right where we started. Sorry but no football for Italy and no football for the world for a little bit more while until we find a cure.

The isolation/lockdown method has been of good help in containing the spread of the virus, but you are right, without a cure for the disease restarting football, even life in general is going to be difficult(fearing a second outbreak). But if we're to wait for a vaccine/cure before football restarts, then I think we still have a very long time to wait.

As far as I know, even Italy still applies lockdown at least until the 3rd May, so I think the league still cannot be played in the near future even though there are precautions such as applying checks on all players before the match and even before training to ensure all players are negative COVID-19.

The hope is for September October, Italy and the UK made a "historical" partnership and the test on humans will start this month.

If everything goes right (it is very promising) they will vaccine docs and police on September.

The number of daily new cases still very high for Italy so its really very difficult for them to do this all in near future most chances they will be in some good position in July or August and then we can hope for some good news about any sporting event as right now best thing is safety of peoples.

I knew about the problems with false test results, both false positive and false negative. Antibody test is worse than RT-PCR test in both sensitivity and specificity of the test but the cost is lower and for massive testing, antibody test is feasible and applicable.

Besides the sensitivity, specificity, false negative and false positive, the current prevalence has its impact on predictive values (both positive predicted value (PPV) and negative predicted value (NPV). I meant when one person receives a positive test, it does not mean he was actually infected. The probability of his infection will depend on sensitivity, specificity of the test; and the prevalence of the population in which he lives.

Expenses of massive testing are huge and governments have to consider about this aspect. They have to choose between antibobdy test and RT-PCR or other tests to maximize number of people they can test. Massive testing play its role as screening. If one has positive test, he will go through quarrantine and further test later (to confirm that positive result). If one has negative test, it does not he is safe and he has to maintain social distancing and other heath hygiene practice too and maybe future re-tests.

Prevalence thus impacts the positive predictive value (PPV) and negative predictive value (NPV) of tests.  As the prevalence increases, the PPV also increases but the NPV decreases.  Similarly, as the prevalence decreases the PPV decreases while the NPV increases.

PPV = (sensitivity x prevalence) / [ (sensitivity x prevalence) + ((1 – specificity) x (1 – prevalence)) ]

NPV = (specificity x (1 – prevalence)) / [ (specificity x (1 – prevalence)) + ((1 – sensitivity) x prevalence) ]

Both could run concurrently, but I think it makes sense to start with the Copa Itallia. It is at the semi-final stage, with just four teams left, the tournament can be completed quickly with minimal involvement (few players and coaching staff) and it would also generate revenue for the league, which is urgently needed at this time.

It could also act as a test run to see how fully restarting the season would work and the challenges they would likely face. The worst scenario now would be resuming football and having to put it on hold again a few games in.

Yeah resuming few games then pausing activity again is very possible. Even if they managed to test every player, coach, staff...there is always false negative and risk of virus spread between them...

Today OMS spoke and said, "without the vaccine, we are expecting the second wave in October but if they will open too soon the second wave it will be in summer".

Anyway, the 1st "test" game should be the copa Italia semifinal in Turin between Juve and Milan, 1-1 on 1st game in Milano.

Teams will be confined in training retreats for the remainder of the season, so “if everyone tests negative, there won’t be any problems of distancing or the virus spreading” Gravina further explained.

It seems like with plans like this even there shower schemes check in place there is now a sure possibility that the league will indeed resume. However my doubts are how does the Italian government feel about this one? Did the Serie A have the government's blessing already or do they don't have any objections on the league resuming since from what I know the government has already told them to back down in their training a while back did everything change overnight just for their league to resume?

Yeah nothing official. I read about the plan of resuming games at the end of May or the beginning of June but it still has to be accepted by politic. There is some resistance and criticism from here and there AFAIK.
Imo, moving to the south? and following precise guidelines could make it feasible. The problem is how to control everyone. Some players or staff members will try to sneak out for few hours trip, some (not seriously) injured players may require to visit a hospital which could be also a problem...
