Something really interesting is going on with the DFB Pokal now. Because after Bayern Munich were eliminated by a huge score in the match against Gladbach, Dortmund also were eliminated by St. Paul yesterday this time. I have zero idea about how this really happened. Because I checked Dortmund's lineup and they had their usual starting eleven. Even Haaland was playing in this match. And he scored a goal too but they still couldn't hinder a disappointing loss by 2-1. After a break of three years, it seems like there will be a different champion than Bayern Munich and Dortmund.

Given that Borussia played with the main squard, it's really surprising that they lost. Especially considering the fact that Bayern flew out of the cup and, in fact, Borussia remained the main contender to win the cup. I doubt that Dortmund wants to concentrate on the LE, and Bavaria does not leave them much hope for the Bundesliga either. Most likely that St. Pauli really were stronger yesterday.

it's been a long time since the dfb cup was won as easily as it was this year... after the elimination of bayern (last round against mönchengladbach) and now dortmund (this round against st. pauli), only rb leipzig is actually one of the strongest clubs stayed in the competition...
i indirectly hope for a surprise final and therefore for a winner who has won this trophy for a long time or never before

The suspense and competition has now set in as Bayern and Dortmund has been eliminated in the DFB-pokal cup. The prediction would now be by close analysis and not but assumption and expectations. It's beautiful that Bayern and Dortmund Is off the hood it's more fun now that we are expecting a new club other than the two renounced clubs atleast we can closely enjoy some high level of competitiveness

I was very surprised when I found out that Borussia flew out of the cup. They played with a normal squad and Haaland even scored a goal (albeit only from the penalty spot), but St. Pauli turned out to be stronger. I don’t know if this will help Borussia focus better on the championship and try to compete with Bayern, but in my opinion this is another confirmation that Borussia is too weak to fight for the championship.

This is a very disappointing match for Dortmund. I never thought that they will lose this game that too against St. Pauli.
Haaland scored their only goal but that too from a spot-kick. That Self-extinguishing goal from Witsel was a bit unfortunate but seems like St Pauli's defense played well and contained Haaland properly. What amazes me is that Dortmund had about 70% possession, they lost to their counterattacks.

Bayern Munich's opponent was much tougher than Dortmund's and they got an embarrassing result like 5-0. And Dortmund were eliminated by a second league team which is even more unexpected. St Pauli players, the coach and their fans must be delighted with this result.

Dortmund is a very inconsistent team, I doubt they can become Bundesliga champions the way they've been playing. something strange in the Bundesliga is that Bayern have been a more consistent team for years, they have good players and score a lot of goals in most games and become champions long before the Bundesliga is over, that makes Bayern almost unbeatable... Bayern's dominance ends so soon, the only one will have to settle for second place

it would be great if another team could follow in union berlin's footsteps. at least even though the championship title will still be held by Bayern but there is an exciting competition at the top and so that the Bundesliga becomes more competitive again because indeed on the boards of tables 1 and 2 sometimes it is only filled by the same club and is rarely replaced
It's a shame indeed Frankfurt couldn't win this match because I was on the Frankfurt side but they could only take 1 point from Augsburg

There was a few in the past , the best example are Hoffenheim when they was getting into the first German League years ago.
It takes some time if you want to assert yourself in the first league , not every team will make it .

it's true that everything also needs a process but indeed with a club that does have a squad depth that can be considered standard when compared to clubs such as bayer and dortmund there I feel this is what makes the team more visible.
Currently union is performing quite well thanks to teamwork and discipline of players when on the field.
Hoffenheim even until now they are quite good but indeed their performance is very hard to predict

It was quite surprising that both teams had to be eliminated early this season from DFB cup , I think after the elimination of Bayern Munich in the second round of October 2021 by Gladbach, Dortmund became the favorite team this year to get the DFB trophy, but unfortunately they also had to suffer bad luck after eliminated by St Pauli in the last 16 match, before the match started, I thought it would be an easy match for Dortmund, but St Pauli  gave a surprise by beating the favorite club this season in the DFB Cup.

Leipzig have advanced to the next round by defeating Hansa Rostock 2-0 today. They had the game under control most of the time and won a well-deserved victory too. In the absence of Dortmund and Bayern Munich in this tournament, there is a golden opportunity for Leipzig to win a title this season. As they are in a bad shape in the Bundesliga, they can make their supporters happy on the condition that they win the DFB Pokal cup. They have what is needed to win it as their players are qualified. They just need to care about it. And they will face teams that have the same goals as theirs too.

M'Gladbach is doing a weird job over there. The coach should tell them every match that they will play vs Bayern and not the other club and yeah changing coach might be a solution in some cases..
Koln, Mainz, Dortmund, M'Gladbach, Hoffenheim and Hertha are out. From the remaining teams, Leipzig and Freiburg seems the best. Union might look interesting too or should we say you never know in DFB-Pokal!

For sure you can say in the DFB Cup it has its one Rules and you never know what will be happen.
We have seen that with Dortmund yesterday and now today Gladbach , even the teams the playing against are in the 2. League or 3 League .

In the league, both are very far from winning. the competition in the League belongs to Dortmund and Munich. we've seen the difference in points gained in the league. the two teams that are at the top are also still showing a good game. hard to think another team could step in and ruin the existing atmosphere.
but outside the league, we can see that Leipzig and Freiburg do have a pretty good performance. in the Champions League Leipzig performed well. so did Freiburg in the DFB Cup. unfortunately, they couldn't overcome Dortmund and Munich's dominance in the League.

It was also pretty shocking to me how poorly Gladbach was performing yesterday. The managed to kicked out FC Bayern in the round before in a extremely convincing way just to deliver such a poor performance in the next round against a team that is only on the 12th place in the second Bundesliga. Somehow Gladbach is just not able to show their true potential for a few games in a row, which is really weird. As you already said, if they continue to play like this they will sooner or later have to fire their coach. For me Leipzig and Freiburg and now big favorites to reach the final of DFB Pokal and Union Berlin also has a chance.

The biggest of the German Cup is Hannover 96. They got a very good win in the match played yesterday. To be frank, I considered Gladbach the favourite. I thought they would win. Hannover won clearly 3-0.

Maybe it will be really tough and competitive for them but they have been doing just great these days. Even though Hoffenheim are in a good shape like Freiburg were, Dortmund can destroy them as long as they make the same effort at least. Haaland is in a great shape too that he can contribute to his team by his goals also. Dortmund must continue to win if they want to lower the gap with Bayern.

The reason for St Pauli's position in the Bundesliga 2 still can't be said with a strong reason because it is seen from any point of view that Dortmund are very far ahead.
on the other hand St Paul's game was very good in this match and even dortmund were still difficult to penetrate their defense and the goals scored were from penalty goals.
I think it's true that they will focus on UEL because in the Bundesliga they are definitely very difficult to catch up and beat the hegemony of Bayern

I think their self-confidence let them down, in their minds they already thought what the next opponent would be and how many goals they would score in this match, but the opponent was concentrated and the advantage of the home match played its role. I think Borussia will concentrate on the Europa League - they are considered the favorites there and winning the Europa League looks much more likely than winning the title against Bayern.
