Although Coinbase does have a lot of features and they are nice,
Know that Coinbase tracks user activity for at least a couple hops

Personal favourite is Airbitz on iOS/Android. Great functionality (particularly like how much information you can attach to each transaction - much more than just labelling) and the founders clearly believe in the principles and promise of Bitcoin, and the product reflects that. Privacy and security are baked in. The directory of nearby places that accept Bitcoin is icing on the cake.

It's all about that KYC stuff. They try hard to show they are not helping money laundering. This keeps them legal and can operate in US. Some hate this, but it is something to stay legal exchanges have to do (at least in us). But as far as hot wallet theirs is better then most. Still keep most in cold storage though.

What is the best bitcoin wallet? Before we answer this question we need to know your needs. If you need it for making micro payments you can use an online wallet, like blockchain.info. If you want to hold your coins safe you need to use Bitcoin Core or Armory.

I am running Electrum Mac and Mycelium on my android.
They are relly good as far as security goes and it does not require you to download the blockchain.

MyceliumSite: https://mycelium.com/Pros: Localtrader app for P2P Bitcoin exchange Cons: Nothing else too special, No desktop client Overview: Mycelium is creating a wide variety of new products in the Bitcoin space, but their wallet is still their main point of concentration at this point in time. While the wallet portion of the Android app doesn’t really offer anything too special at first glance, there is one feature that is basically the sole reason this offering from Mycelium made its way to the fifth spot on this list. The Localtrader section of the Mycelium Bitcoin wallet app is basically an easy-to-use version of LocalBitcoins.com for your mobile phone. Using the location settings on the smartphone, the app is able to figure out where the user is located and look for other users in the area who are looking to buy or sell bitcoins. This feature definitely earns bonus points for the Bitcoin purists who believe that Bitcoin should stick to its roots in P2P technology. Instead of trading on centralized exchanges, Localtrader allows users to meet up and exchange cash for Bitcoins in a decentralized manner. Mycelium is not a web-based wallet, so there are a few online options that are missing from it. There’s no Mycelium server that you can use to restore your wallet after reformating your phone, but there is a rather easy-to-use backup tutorial included in the app. The fact that you can only use this wallet on Android for now is another negative, but there are a large number of new exciting products coming from this Bitcoin-centric company in the near future. http://blog.cex.io/cryptonews/top-5-bitcoin-wallets-in-2014-7305

What is the best bitcoin wallet?
Blockchain.info blockchain.info is not the best bitcoin wallet, in fact it is one of the worst wallets that you can choose for bitcoin. it is online and so it is less secure than other wallets. besides as you can see, right now it is unavailable because of spam attacks !!

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip. Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

DO NOT KEEP ANYTHING YOU'RE NOT WILLING TO LOSE ON AN EXCHANGE!!! It's not a wallet. Exchanges are hacked constantly. Only leave funds there that you are willing to "gamble"/trade with. As noted before a wallet is someplace where ONLY YOU have access to the private keys. You wouldn't let anybody other than family or close friends have the key to your house so why would you give the keys to your money to somebody else? Having said that, if you're trusting of US based companies then Coinbase is probably your best bet for temporary storage of funds. It's more of an exchange than a wallet (again because you don't have the private keys). If you're going to store long term then it's worth reading up on cold storage and learning how to use alternative clients like Armoury.

I think Bitcoin Core is the best & safest method of storing your bitcoins. Paper wallets are a good method too.

I think Bitcoin Core is the best & safest method of storing your bitcoins. Paper wallets are a good method too.
If you have bitcoin core on a computer you actively use for internet that is not the best condition for a wallet. Hot vs cold wallets cold win every time. If done right cold wallets always win. Yes a piece of paper can make a great wallet, but you have to make sure you do it right and secure.
