Before I tried Coinbase app and kept it, I was using Hive, which works also with Litecoin. But I lost my passphrase and I searched another mobile wallet. I found Coinbase and I kept it.

I use coinbase in few galaxy phones,
Never had any issue with it, i don't know how it works in iOS but i think it would not be any issue.
Have you tried to download the latest version(or update the actual version), maybe that issue is just in ZENFONE 5, send a ticket to them.

I use blockchain.info for small amounts. I like to try several and use the one I like best. I still haven't found my 'perfect' wallet, but someday.

Coinkite I have never tried personally but will be giving them a little test soon based on recent news about them being reputable. Also, don't keep all your eggs in one basket.

As per bitcoin.org web site beginners guide, bitcoin core is the best wallet for bitcoin. But it requires lot of initial synchronization time and bandwidth. But you can choose your wallet based on your requirement and available factors.

The best Bitcoin wallet is now Blocktrail.  They have a very easy to use web wallet (but they don't have access to your keys) and mobile wallets for iOS and Android work well together.

It is basically like blockchain.info 2.0

They rotate addresses for you, secure your funds with multisig, and no more messing with complicated private keys, but instead they give you passphrases based on HD wallet technology used by other platforms like Electrum or Armory.

This is the year Bitcoin is finally getting exchanges you don't have to worry about stealing your money, and wallets that are well designed and easy to use.

2FA security makes the account safer from unauthorized activity.
I use it too, at the moment it seems good and their referral system is high too.
But the whole system(coinbase) does not provide private key for the funds there.

Coinkite features:

Money controlled by a third party
Centralized validation
Remote app
Vulnerable environment
Basic privacy

Better to use Bitgo or GA for web wallet. And you should store your coins on cold wallet, electrum is my recommendation.

Their reff commision is depends on country.
And yes they is just an exchanger which also web wallet, they will not give you a private key.
