I'm happy to announce I got my order of S7's today!
Order date: 30.08
Payment confirmed: 06.09
UPS delivered on time as usual. I must say I'm very pleased with UPS and their service, DHL can suck it!
Properly wrapped by Bitmain:
Seems like they were stressed when packing these, didn't even have time to wash their hands before handling it:
Testing and configuring, one by one:
I had some trouble with my router, didn't offer them DHCP leases properly. 5 of them got an IP straightaway, but it didn't show in my routers DHCP leases list.
The last one I reset to factory settings by using the reset button/pin-hole to the right of the ethernet-port. This might have been unnecessary, probably my router that fucked up.
I can recommend this tool to scan your network for devices, handy if you get a buggy DHCP leases list, like I did.
http://www.advanced-ip-scanner.com/Power draw from 1x S7 running on Bitmain's APW3-12-1600-B2. This is better than expected.
PS: I got 235V measured at the socket before turning on the miners. It drops to around 230 when they are all running.
Out with the old, in with the new. S1 and S7 size comparison:
I will be sending my S1 boards to sidehack if he decides to make those pod-miners.
All 6 miners seems to be in good condition, clocked at 600Mhz as default.
They are all running at 4.8X TH/s at the moment, this makes me super happy, I was too worried about this!
The running temperature is fine, seems to run at 40-45C given 10C ambient/input temp. Only one of the miners got proper input airflow at the moment, the others are running at 65C. (Does not seem to affect TH/s)
When I fix the airflow I'm pretty sure they will all run around 40-45C. Will be interesting to see how they will run when winter sets in, and the input/ambient temp will be -10 to -20 (Hopefully ^^)
And finally, here's a short video to demonstrate the noise it makes. I have a feeling my neighbours might complain.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ICS22_VVlSgI'm currently running 5 out of 6 miners. I need a new PSU for the last one.
Edit:
This is how they look in Minera dashboard:
Seems like the HW-error counter is WAY off.
