Probably DDoS. Unhappy customer? Since ICMP requests can get through, they probably blocked TCP/80/443?

They should drop the price, it's already too high. And BW announced this week plans to sell 14nm miners to the public, which threatens the already unattainable ROI at current S7 prices even more was hoping to get a couple S7 for heat over the winter and selling it in the spring with the hope of breaking even..but doesn't sound like there's a good chance of breaking even on the S7

I hope LK brings some much needed competition to the table. Bitmain can't be allowed to be the only player in town.

Thanks, Prelude. I want to see the link where they say this... EDIT: It's hard for me to believe this. I personally think it's a ploy to try to stop people from buying more S7's from BITMAIN and thereby reducing the rise in the network hash rate.

By the way, all nine (9) S7's are doing great with very low HW errors and all 9 units are at least 4.8 TH/s and above @ 600 MHz. I refuse to do any over clocking of these rigs, as I want them to last me a LONG time.
I have 8 of them hooked up to IBM 2880W PSU's. I only had to reboot half of them to reduce the HW errors from 0.1XXX% to 0.00XX%. I went ahead and hooked up the 9th rig to two (2) Corsair AX860 PLATINUM PSU's. The hash rate was low and the HW errors were high at initial start up. Once a reboot was done, the hash rate is 4.837 TH/s and the HW errors are 0.0019% now after 20 hours and 40 minutes of mining.
Over all, I'm VERY pleased with the performance of the S7's. I will post snapshots of the "Miner Status" for all 9 rigs [After 24 hours of use] to show what those who order in the future can expect in regard to performance. I cannot hook up to a watt meter, as my meter went "cur plunk" on me about 3 months ago. However, my "metered" 240 Volt PDU's read 10 Amps for each breaker on the PDU. I have two (2) S7's hooked up to each IBM 2880W breaker of the 30 Amp PDU's. The amp meter reads 10 Amps for each 15 Amp breaker. [The 30 Amp/ 240 Volt PDU's have two (2) 15 Amp breakers built into them. If we multiply 240 Volts x 10 Amps, we get 2400 watts. Divided by 2 [S7's] = 1200 watts.
EDIT: I did have a high pitched wine from one of the S7's after about 7 or 8 hours of mining. It was hard to make out which one was making this noise. So, I ended up doing a half to full turn on the screws to all the fans [Front and back] and the noise went away after about 20 to 30 minutes.

Nothing really that impressive, and not a real game changer unless the price is very low, but that seems unlikely on 14nm.

That's a daft thing to say. There are loads of pools that were biggest "at some point". He's referring to "present day." It seems to me you are one who has been here a long time and created a new account only to harass, dogie.

It seems to me that you are jumping to conclusions. I would have said the same thing to anyone who made that statement. Fine, you made your point. How relevant it is? Very little.

Sounds truly great, but could you confirm the 5% import tax if equipment is coming from US, payable immediately?
Yes, there is a 5% import tax on the hardware value. Is this a quebec thing? No import tax in bc It's a Canada thing . You should pay GST when you import things. However, when the value is lower than some threshold (60$? 100$?), you usually do not have to pay. Oh I see, you're calling gst import tax. now it makes sense.
