That B1 came clocked at 575?

No, the B1 came clocked at 600, but would only obtain 4.3Th/s.  I tried everything so, I clocked it at all increments down to 575 and it has maintained 4.579 Th/s ever since.  All of these have been upgraded with the new firmware as well, which did not make a difference whether it was the 600 or 575 firmware for antminer4....I tried both.

Would be interesting to see antminer4's performance if you switched PSU. Run it with an APW3, will you get better numbers?

That was my first change without a change in results.  It would still only obtain a 4.3 Th/s with the Bitmain APW3-12-1600-B2.

How about temperature on the different miners, are the hotter ones hashing better?
I swear mine hash better at higher temps, 45-55C.

My numbers creep down at night it seems, when the temperature drops.

Pic from tonight:

I was running the fans at 90%, because I got scared by the firmware failure/lost internet error. I've set it back to automatic now, need higher temps.

One of my S7 seem to be hashing lower now than before, can't get it above 4,7TH/s, thats why I wondered about the PSU change.

take that dud number 4 and drop freq to 568 see what it does.
take the slow number 1 and drop freq to 593 see what it does.

really look at the error numbers.

It got hot in NJ it is 66f so I will have to raise my fans. but my errors are spectacular in a good way.

From my experience I found that higher temps give a lower HW.  Either a hotter environment or slower fan speed will increase the temp and lower the HW of the miner.  Apposing this theory would be that electronics and heat are a bad combination.  In this, increased temperature may decrease the longevity of the miner.  Some Considerations.

S7 gets better every time and with every shipping.

My first two were underperformed, with high HV rate. (Pictures sent for warranty)
Two weeks after this  two , I had a more better 2 x S7 with 600 stickers.

After that 8 x S7 and all are 4,8TH/s or better. No stickers.
11 are already on the way.
8 not shipped yet.
So I am optimistic,  but still not satisfied with S5+ boards  build quality. Only one out of three is not needed for repairs.
I still think that with S5+ I got scammed with Bitmain China poor Guarantee service.

OK, another stupid question from someone who is getting his S7 delivered tomorrow.  Since I will be using separate power supplies for the hash boards, is there any concern about overheating while turning them on one at a time with the control board psu being the last one to turn on?

I'm just curious since the worry about 'internet connection' issues and fans not cooling, when they're initially powered up is that any concern?

not a concern re overheating initially as it would take it a minute or so to situate itself on your network and then hashing will build up slowly (don't expect it to jump to to 4.86 in few seconds). Wait at least 1 hr before reaching any conclusion where your miner is operating as far as speed is concerned and if high errors is seen, try soft reboot in gui (I believe that it is in system pane).

I think that you are precisely correct when you say, "turning them on one at a time with the control board psu being the last one to turn on."  I have quite a few S7s now and have several powered by 3 power supplies and followed the power on procedure that you noted without any problems.

How many watt PSU per board do you use - all 3 the same or more on the controller board?

Each blade [Or board] is approximately 377 watts per board at 600 MHz clocking.  I could be wrong but I believe this is correct.  The Controller is approximately 40 watts.

Don't forget the fans at 15 watts to 25 watts each {depending on the RPM's}.  This is based on 93% efficiency at the wall.

They made a huge deal about hashing board's first.  The biggest one was on S5+ they shipped me letter even with it among a ton of other warnings.

I have lost power just a few times and every time it comes back on no issues.  I am using bitmain PSU's on it.  But I think they were over cautious on this to do that.  They have warranty so tight if you do anything it voids warranty. I suspect it was for voiding warranty's on added items.

Scammed no.
Screwed  yes.

Scammed  would mean they never sent a thing or none of it worked.

Some worked  some did not.  And we all know that they do not have good rma.  So I would say your were shortchanged or overcharged but not scammed.

I am disappointed with my batch 2 delivery of the s-7  and I feel I along with quite a few others have been overcharged or shortchanged.  About 1 btc.  Most likely it is lost.  My best hope is Avalon has a decent model 6.  Or hell coins go to 1000 and I sell off some.

have 2 S7s working fine with pcfli. Got my S7 batch 2 today set at 575. Been hashing away for last 4 hours at 4.7 consistently. Pretty happy so far!

S5 is really not stable and easily damaged.
8 pcs of mmy S5 only 4.5 pcs alive now.

I like your optimism in ordering ~10 S7 or ~20K worth in one "gulp".
Apart from it being a business, i don't see the need.
I can always buy the coin and for fun 1,2 machines are just fine.

Hello.

I'm a newbie here. I have been trying to learn a lot on the bitcoin mining world. I wanted to buy miner since GPU times, but never did. I have been following bitmaintech's products but never bought one until S7 B2.

Yes, I finally bought an S7 B2 from BMT and I wanted to add my two cents by saying it was shipped today.

My order was made on Oct 15th with a confirmed payment just less than an hour after my order was placed. And I received an email today from them (say 10h ago) saying my order was shipped with tracking number. I logged in on my BMT account and my order was updated with tracking # and I can check tracking # on dhl website. Everything seems to be right so far. As a note, they shipped two packages as they updated my shipping info with two tracking numbers. I ordered an S7 B2 and one 1600W PSU from them. That's all I ordered and this is my very first time buying bitcoin miners.

Main outlet voltage here is 120V but I can get 240V from the two 120V phases. I think I can do it with an electrician and also thanks to all the help a lot of you have been providing on this thread. Thank you so much!!!

I will be reading dogie guides to make the proper setup to the miner but if I have any question I'll let you know as this is my first time doing this.

Thank you again.

Part of it is luck to.   Like Tupsu had a horrible experience with S5+ .  I have documented my journy with mine and could not be happier - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1157426.0

Same comes to shipping on this some seem to be much luckier on S7 shipping then others.   Is that right.... no not really.  But is it a scam... I would agree no.

Just like compensation was so low right.... no.  But was it well within their judgement right to make... yes.  So some things are done right but results are not fun for customer.

It's good to hear you had a pleasant experience with BMT.  I ordered Batch #1 on September 3, 2015 and received it on October 16, 2015.  It was 4 days past the deadline.  You just happen to order at a good time.

As for my order; yes, it was late.  Do I feel it was a scam?  HELL NO!!!  Do I feel like I was treated fairly?  Yes!  Do I feel like the compensation to come is fair?  Yes!  Others with less power cost or no power cost may not agree.  So, BMT did an "average" for compensation.  Was it a scam?  HELL NO!!!

Have some received equipment with heatsinks out of position and actually causing some rigs to burn up?  Yes.  Did they get satisfactory response to resolve the issue?  I would say more than likely, YES!!!  Is this a perfect world with perfect people and perfect government with perfect corporations?  No!  Do some governments and corporations take advantage of people?  Yes.  Do I think BMT took advantage of those it sold S7's to?  HELL NO!!!

Do I think BMT learned from the issues that developed during this episode with the S7's?  Yes.  Will they learn from this episode?  Yes.  Will something like this happen again?  Probably not.  Will something else come up in the future with other models yet to come on the market?  Possibly... It's not a perfect world.  Will they offer a means of correcting a potential issue in the future?  I would say, YES!!!

BMT has been a good company and just as loyal to the home/small farm/large farm miner than any other manufacturer out there.  I believe you were in good hands when you placed your order with them.  I'm happy this forum has been informative to you and I want to welcome you to the fold.

Happy mining, reinaldo, and may the blocks be with you!

David

Do you review BMT products or have any association with BMT? I have lurked here for a long time and have noticed a shill like stance you take with regards to BMT in general on any response regarding BMT "the company". I know that BMT is the only real game in town at this point, but some of your perspectives and comments almost have a "customer service" feel to them.

There are examples of s7's catching on fire, late shipping, poor communication and generally a really bad experience for a HUGE!!! (see what I did there) portion of the community with BMT, but you always seem to find a positive spin.

I have nine s7's online and have been involved in bitcoin since 2010, granted I am a lurker. So I apologize if my query comes across as jaded, but no one I know IRL would defend BMT in this manner that wasn't being paid by them.
