Great that you finally put a more descriptive goal of the project, now you earn more of my trust and more likely other too. Greatly appreciate you did that.... is it possible to fix things where word "ether" appiers and made them to be "soil" Also DAG location.. etc.
These are great ideas, to separate SOIL using eth/ether in the coding. I give props for ETH team from creating the original project, but to be original from it would do more honor IMO....

Good idea, but please hold the JSON-RPC and console commands compatible with ETH. Another possibility would be to allow e.g. soil.getBalance() additionally to eth.getBalance().

I agree, a polished project is better than a rushed project. Best to learn from ETH, SHF and EXP, improve upon them. All ETH and clones seem to be doing ok now, minus the diff issues.

This should be fixed now (sourcecode). Thanks There is an old bug in the SOILsafe GUI, inherited from Etherwall: Transactions tab, enter a value with comma instead a decimal point (e.g. 1,1) SOILsafe is immediately terminated with an exception.
This should be fixed too (sourcecode). Thanks Fine, I will check it later. Now the transaction exception is still open. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1176709.msg12503441#msg12503441

We are aware that everyone wants a launch date set as soon as possible. soil, our developer, wants to get this out and available as soon as possible, but also wants to have a smooth roll-out and is working at eliminating any bugs that are found before we have the main-net set up. In the meantime, we are setting bounty rates, finalizing the block time/difficulty/reward numbers and getting the website set up. I thank you all for your patience, and promise that as soon as we set a date, the countdown on the OP will be set, and with enough foretime set that everyone will have ample time to set up their miners and be ready to go as soon as we launch. We dont want to rush this, and then be scrambling to correct errors that crop up after the launch. Like a fine wine, a good cryptocurrency should not be uncorked before its time. This is meant to be a fair launch with everyone having an equal oppurtunity, both with assisting in defining the reward schedule of the coin itself and in being able to start mining of the main net as soon as we are launched, with at least one, but hopefully two or three exchanges ready for us immediately.
that being said, what exchanges would you folks like us to get SOIL listed on? bleutrade is pretty much a lock right now, theyre just waiting for our launch date to be set, but will be open for trading as soon as we launch. ive looked into cryptopia and will be adding us to their "coin inclusion" voting, and have written poloniex as well, waiting on their reply. what other exchanges do you folks use? where would you like to see SOIL listed? id like very much to have those set up to be ready for launch.
thank you for your time and patience. ~abvhiael crowley
No need to hurry, take your time. Polo and Bleu is sufficient in my opinion.

Before we get the main-net up and running on launch, we would like to know how you fine folks have found the mining on the test-net. Our developer would also appreciate it if you would post your test-net addresses if youve mined any SOIL on the test-net, as we are going to offer a bounty on launch related to that activity on the test-net. In other words, those "test-SOIL" you have mined arent all in vain! Its a small way to thank you folks for helping test the platform, and while I cant comment on what the bounty will be for the test-net mining, the bounty will a the very least be a significant percentage of what test-SOIL you minted on the test-net. We couldnt have come THIS far without your help.
How did you find the time required to solomine a block? The number of blocks beyond that in order to confirm? I know every altcoin has a targeted block time, but what is targeted and what *IS* are generally very different things.
Last evening I did some pool mining and solo mining on one of the other ETH-platform based cryptocurrencies, which has a targeted block time of 60 seconds and there were many blocks that were ten-fifteen minutes of processing before a block was found, even with the pool at suprnova running. Im not sure if they have other pools or not, and there were only 43 workers on the pool itself, so im not sure if that is indicative of why blocktimes were so lengthy, but its something im genuinely curious about. The difficulty is, with dagger hashimoto algorhythms, naturally high, but can that begin to act as a deterrent to mining?

Good Afternoon, So, with the test net a lot of people come online and offline very quickly so sadly this will skew the type of information you are looking for I think in this post. However, as I did mine some SOIL I will give you my impression. 1) Setup was easy and connection to the existing nodes was fast. 2) Your binary package was well put together 3) Blocks seem to be very fast (again likley from low miner count) I was finding blocks solo instantly 4) I was likley only one of 3-4 miners online at the time I tested as with 50 M/hash I was finding about 1 in 4 blocks. 5) Even as a farily serious miner I lack the insight to comment on the ten-fifteen minutes of processing before a block is found. Are you talking about the delay the pool imposes or the network itself. I havent seen any 10 to 15 min delays in any of the networks using dagger so I am not sure i understand your sentament fully, but again I am a single data point. If you want more information I would be happy to talk (and I know a lot of other people on these forums are too). Maybe you could list specific questions and also maybe how you would expet us to measure the concept of "lengthyness" in block confirmation. If you want us to output a log file, do a quick time stamp dump into excel or whatever and get average data its easily done, I am just not 100% sure what metrics you are looking for. Have a great day, Test Net: 0x9542ce1be9c2af0d789defa79f3109a1b4d198dc

there will be a website up by tomorrow. it WOULDVE been up yesterday but i have a five year old who likes clicking the mouse. 'nuff said. (laughs) and i was THIS CLOSE to being finished, too. i have search and rescue duties this evening so, itll have to wait until tomorrow. im looking into a block explorer presently, and will endeavour to make sure its up and running for the main net launch. i think thats one of the most important aspects of transparency for any cryptocurrency. we will also make any "community reserve" account public and will be keeping an up-to-date ledger of it on this discussion page when we launch. it will show what debits and credits are transacted with it (i plan on donating half my mining rewards back to the community account to ensure liquidity and enable faucets to remain stocked.) and will include WHY there was said debit or credit. like i said, transparency. trust in the cryptocurrency world is hard to come by, and when you lose that, you lose your community. ive watched other coins with less altruistic motives or less than communicative responses to questions regarding reserves, etc. go from viable to dead in a heartbeat. the icon SHOULD be on the OP, but unfortunately i cant edit it myself. it is prominent on our facebook group and twitter page though. personally, i LOVE the icon. i think its clean, simple and recognizable. ive been using it as my avatar on cryptopia for a week now.
