Does anyone know if there still are any develpoment on this project? Or is it starting to fade away?
I messaged asking for details a while ago but no news =[ Sounds like its one or two devs that have real jobs and also want to do a side project.

... And how to properly call ? .conf soil.conf ? SOILsafe.conf
SOIL is based on Ethereum, not Bitcoin. The mining configuration is different, there is no conf-file. 1st of all, you need to start gsoil and allow rpc communication: gsoil --rpc --rpcaddr 192.168.1.105 --rpcport 9001 As far as I know there is no way to set a password. Note: rpcaddr is the ip from your local machine running gsoil. As 2nd step, start the mining software on your 'mining rig', e.g.: ethminer -G -F http://192.168.1.105:9001 For more options and tweaks, just check the documentation of your mining software. Hope this helps.

I guess we'll see in some months/years? Sorry, I could not resist. Is this a new game? I've seen such posts lately in multiple threads as soon as the OP or dev are not posting every day. Not sure what's the purpose?

Not sure what's the purpose? I really hope not. This project actually seemed kind of interesting considering it had a targeted purpose. I don't see how contracts can't be just deployed on Ethereum other than lower cost on Soil. Or like if it was niche like how UBIQ wants the IoT world.

I have no clue; why you get an error, but something is indexing into an illegal location in some sort of collection. There could be some misunderstandings related to intermixing of testnet and mainnet addressing. IMO; it's likely causing trouble. Are you preparing the homestead explorer? I am a bit reluctant to trust the new code, unless we can 100% exclude the possibility that it might be creating transactions or p2p communications that crashed my node - which had been running fine for almost a year, until block 1820081. Fair enough. It might be that the new code interfere old client communication. I think, if all would upgrade to the new client, problems would disappear. I think the best is to play with the testnet for the moment - if doubts are gone - we can all upgrade to the new gsoil in the future if you want. our doubts are not here ...any how ask only from those who have many...

Don't focus on the fee alone. Pool sexy is a PPLNS pool, which means that payment is based on your participation during the last 1000 shares. And with the super fast block time for this coin, you won't even get shares registered before there is a reward. Except if you have a lot of hash power.
PPLNS favours the big miners. PROP favours the small and average miners, since you get paid for all shares you deliver, Proportinally.
Probably you dont know how pplns works... if small miner sent one shares when is found one block receive a high % and also earns for lost blocks, in the long run makes no difference. cit. https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/370/what-is-a-good-mining-pool-payout-model-for-infrequent-mining"Prop. - Proportional. When block is found, the reward is distributed among all workers proportionally to how much shares each of them has found. PPLNS - Pay Per Last N Shares. Similar to proportional, but instead of looking at the number of shares in the round, instead looks at the last N shares, regardless of round boundaries. Proportional payout systems they are vulnerable to pool-hopping so you will probably lose some portion of your revenues to hoppers on those pools. For your concerns, SMPPS, ESMPPS or PPLNS would be good choices, but there are other factors to consider and it is ultimately up to you to choose a payout scheme and pool that best fits your needs." PROP at moment, with low diff, dont have problem of pool hoppers Anyway here we are OT. Choose the pool you like, decentralization is good

One reason might be because soil.coinminer.space stopped paying out coins. I was mining there but now have a large balance of coins unpaid so I stopped mining this coin for now. There is no contact info for this mining pool so I have no way to contact them and report the issue. Plus the low value of the coins doesn't help either.

Guess the operator of this pool is active here. Simply use the forum to contact him. Just an idea.

I've been pretty happy with http://soil.miners-zone.net/#/ have had no issues with them. This project seemed so cool to me since it was so "grassroots" if you will. Just kinda bummed that there havent been any updates.
