People who are comfortable with paper money will only use paper money even if bitcoin hits the mainstream as they will find easy way to spend their money, and paper money will take care of it.
I think I will be one of these people. There's still something about currency that you can hold. Paper money can never disappear as it is the most trusted currency across the globe and the future of paper money is always bright and it doesn't have any threat from bitcoin.

I think paper money would still exist and bitcoin can't replace it. Maybe in some countries will make it as their currency. But i guess not all, some people in 3rd world countries will prefer to choos paper money. Therefore it will keep its existence
Not only the people of third world countries, every country continues using paper money even if bitcoin is accepted in most of the countries and by most of the government. This is due to the ease of usage which can't be provided by any of the currencies.

I guess some dude got this idea "Hey lets kill the paper money" Stupid though but sometimes it leads to a good thread so people can be aware that this two types of currency must exists to help each other grow. Not kill each other.

I heard Sweden will be a cashless socity in a few decades. Does it mean there will be no paper money?

You put paper money in the bank and very soon the bank tells you that it doesnt have a value anymore because it is digital now. How would you feel about that?
That doesnt make any sense..... if you put paper money in bank, and the bank decides to not use paper money anymore, you still have money but now its digital.... would be like the coins we see almost every day being swaped for the 2.0 version. Paper money can never disappear as it is the most trusted currency across the globe and the future of paper money is always bright and it doesn't have any threat from bitcoin.
Never say never @topic Paper money will eventually end, that is a fact. People see bitcoin as super new digital currency but we use our debit/credit card every day. That's some digital way to use our currency just like use bitcoin/altcoin.

well, i think in the future, paper money will not exist in the current form (paper) and will surely change to other easier and cleaner ways like using a card instead of paper with more security too. but i don't think bitcoin is going to replace it mostly because that would mean the death of fiat which will never happen.

I think in the future, In other country that progressive like United States paper money is not exist. Because they can do it and they need it for their own security of their country. In their new money all transaction have data in government so they can trace the illegal activity of other criminals so that they can catch this criminals.

I don't think paper money will last long as a primary means of exchanging money because paper money is fragile and can be easily forged by criminals. Everyone is developing new ways of utilizing digital money and digital payment systems so in my honest opinion it's just a matter of time before paper money is completely obsolete and put in a museum. Going digital is the future there is no doubt about that.

It ain't that bad, but it is controlled by the government. And they are printing it as if it has already no value. So, it has actually no.value but we use it as very high value. Atleast bitcoin has real value in it and it is not unlimited. It wi grow in value as its count grow less.

from the beginning until now I think that the bill will still exist in the future. Overall people are already accustomed to using paper money, so I guess it will still be used

yeah I agree with you because many corruption crimes such as robbery and so on in their country. certainly paper money in the future is considered as money that is less secure. easy to be abused perhaps for that reason they replace their financial systems. remove paper money

The future of the paper money will be the same as it is today as every nation is supporting its paper money on one hand and on the other hand there is not going any development in it so it will be the same as now.

Everything will be replaced sooner or later if there isnt any innovation into it. The example would be your cellphone back in 10 years ago people choose nokia over the others and yet nokia is very proud of themselves and now everything change and people dont even use that kind of phone anymore

Unfortunately paper money will probably disappear completely at some point. Digital money has a lot going for it but it also has quite a few drawbacks. I think that there is always something that is irrecoverably lost with the death of a generation. Knowledge is gained at the expense of something somewhat more fundamental.

At some point it will disappear but I don't think anyone of us will live to see that. Right now paper money is too valuable in many business. There is also the third world where they depend on fiat, coins and paper money a lot.

That's right. Paper money is dirty and very costly to print and protect. Then there are the thieves who try to print money and launder money. So governements will try to get rid of it asap.

Anything that has a high value is pretty expensive to protect. Also, laundering money would happen with digital money too. Those aren't criticisms unique to paper money.
