All my bitcoins are in an exchange (not a lot though)
I have 1 altcoin where the coins are in a wallet. When you will have enough BTC you don't want to put that in an exchange for long time. You'll eventually need to setup a wallet in your pc and hold your own private keys. |

I mainly store coins on my blockchain.info wallet and 15% on different type of hot wallet for my daily trading and gambling activities.

I've got the biggest chunk in cold storage (Casascius bar) which would require a plane trip for me to go get them. Hence the temptation to spend them is reduced.
The next biggest chunk in cold storage behind three locks
Then the next percentage on an android phone in airplane mode except when I need it.
Then a very small amount on my cell phone (mycelium) for my expenses and purchases.
When my Case wallet arrives tomorrow this might change - I'll keep my cold storages for savings and the rest on my Case.
Man care to share how much you have spent on bitcoins? Damn you must have a lot of coins to devide you wallets like that. Haha! A lot came from mining. When I see someone I haven't seen in a while they usually ask me: "are you still into that bitcoin stuff?" And I respond: "now I'm being paid in bitcoin!" |

I store my bitcoins on different exchanges which are well known and some big part on blockchain wallet that all.Windows wallet will take 2 weeks to be synched fully with my connection speed.Ir is better this way at present.
Storing bitcoins or altcoin on exchanges are very dangerous even though they are well known, you might be victim for next Mt Gox "hacking incident". You better use Electrum for windows, it's very light, has many features, good security & you don't have to sync for a long time (less than a minute) But many people active in trading bitcoin in exchanges. There is no way other than keeping our hard earned bitcoin there itself. It must be time to innovate any kind of new things to resolve this kind of situation everybody faces. |

When my Case wallet arrives tomorrow this might change - I'll keep my cold storages for savings and the rest on my Case.
I've also been thinking of getting a Case for daily use. Would be interested in hearing what are your thoughts on it so far. |

Look if you bought the bitcoins for holding purposes say you strongly believe in bitcoin and think it will price will rise and want to keep them safe then you can either store your bitcoins in offline wallets or paper wallets for the best security but if you bought the bitcoins for gambling or buying or using them on day to day basis then just store them on blockchain.info wallet because it's the simplest and fastest bitcoin wallet |

if you have some serious ammount of bitcoins of course i suggest you to use cold storage, as you can see there is lot of users that agree with that. I usually store all of my coin in hot wallet (online wallet) as it is not quite big to store in cold storage for long run. I spend almost whatever i earn.
do you not afraid if the store in the wallet online ? I fear first incident happen again as in mt gox well, if he is not using a huge ammount of bitcoins is not a bad idea at all, but as i sayd i will never use it to store most of my bitcoins. |

well yes thats exactly what i had said, if you are going to use it a lot then is needed, ofc, just be carefully to do not store a lot of bitcoins there just for precaution. |

I store my BTC at my Xapo wallet, even though online wallet is never safe and it's recommended to get Hardware wallets But im can't afford hardware wallets right now  Im saving my sig campaign money to upgrade my pc And i don't know how to operate Hardware wallets anyway  |

well hardware its like a software wallet into a pen no? soo a flash pen usb can store the multiwallet or multibit and you can see it gorws or pay in specific computers

And i don't know how to operate Hardware wallets anyway hardware wallets (at least the main ones like Trezor, Case, Ledger) are very easy to operate, arguably easier than some software ones I do think the prices should be lowered, but if you have more than a few btcs it's worth the investment |

I store my bitcoins in different systems, cold storage for my savings (paper wallet for long time storage). Mobile wallet for hot wallet , bitcoins that i can spend in short time. Another bitcoins in an exchange for trading. I think exchange is the most problematic we saw some big collapses in exchanges and stolen bitcoins. I try to have bitcoins on exchange only when i'm doing trading.

I actually divide my bitcoins and store in different wallets to avoid loses in case of any thing goes wrong on one system. It is similar to diversifying our investment to avoid bigger loses. For every day use I will use XAPO account because of no fee and I feel it is quite safe in online wallets. Some stored in cold storage in my desktop and some in block-chain wallet.
