That's self-defense at its finest, as long as they both get out okay and the attacker learns their lesson that's more than you can ask for..... Too bad gun control advocates would never pay attention to anything like this.

Gun control advocates mourn the loss of their comrades every time they fail to make an innocent girl defenseless in order to be murdered, raped, and/or maimed with impunity.

I've heard variation on it to be honest. "We always knew it would be something like this..."

Good girl.
Well, she did miss his heart. lol It is hard to hit such a small target through a closed door. What she was trying to do was to get him to leave her alone, that seems to have worked out according to her plan. I am sure if the assailant had continued opening the door even after being shot at, then she would have had a clearer shot to finish him off.

In reality perhaps she should be charged with reckless endangerment for taking a blind shot?

Robber wins suit, gets homeowner's money anyway. I've even seen a case where someone broke in, fell onto a kitchen counter in the process, and was injured on the knife block. He won his suit, too. Ridiculous.

Sometimes I have troubles understanding other peers, who's side you're on? The guy was already trespassing a private property, and the girl knew there wasn't any other family member in the house. She used her other senses to decide when to pull the trigger like her hearing for example, which I assume you don't have after seeing such comments.

In this case it's important that she is a minor, so she should not be held to grown-up rules. But if she were an adult she might be in trouble for bind shooting an intruder. It is certainly not good form. I have little sympathy for the fool who broke in, but one should be damn sure of what they are doing if they going to solve their problems with a gun.

Oh she put the intruder in danger by not shooting him in the open? Brilliant.

I guess in theory, it could have been a cop or family friend who'd scared off the intruder and come to check she was OK. No harm, no foul in my opinion though.

Obviously, if it was a good guy, they would call out to her to find her.

Oh she put the intruder in danger by not shooting him in the open? Brilliant. She put everyone around her in danger by shooting at what she thought was an intruder. Good thing luck was on her side.

I'm sure she had a reasonable belief that "everyone around her" was the intruder. Rather than luck that it was, it would have been extreme bad luck if it wasn't.
