It is sad to hear that due to craving to gamble, thinking that luck may go their way, gamblers are asking for loans while in fact it is already a signal that one should stop and work on other things. Asking loan for gambling is not a good idea.
work on things ? what other things do you actually mean ? yes asking loan and not repaying would certainly be a bad idea.
i work,go to a job 5 days a week and gamble and do all my stuff ?

Well you can't work and at the same time gamble, unless you work in a casino or work as a site owner of a online gambling site.
What I mean there is focus on something else since that gambler who runs of funds is asking for a loan.

why ? i have access to internet at my job and my boss is not a jerk as you think .
and i gamble and do all other stuff when i am back at home, or even at job as i dont get fired for that ..lol

dude i'm referring to you the question is generic which means applicable to anyone but not pertaining to you (I did not say your boss is a jerk), if you are special and you can do both at the same time then that's good for you and congratulations.

Agreed with you, i think people who borrows the money for the purpose of gambling are in fake hope that they will be manage to recover the money they loose previously and it is sad they are always wrong. There are very less chances to get back your lost money and they put their self into big financial crises which destroy their personal life.

of course it might be true in general case as majority of the gamblers fuck themselves at some point, but it dosent contradicts the point of LOAN.

There was a scenario that...

..the borrower will not say what is the purpose of his loan,

- So it is better to make loan for only known person and take some time to check if it has a capability to paid back the amount. Much better if you will get a collateral.

..the borrower you know is really a gambler,

- As long as the borrower gives all the assurance and collateral (that really matches the loan) that the lenders need then in my case, I will let him borrow eventhough chance of repaiding is not clear.

..the borrower you know has no capability of paying the loan back

- I will asked him that I don't have money. Smiley

I strongly disagree with this, this maybe an compulsive or pathological gambling it is an progsessive ilness,
Behavior of such is

• Borrowing money - Gambling requires money, and when money is consistently lost, it has to come from somewhere. The action compulsive gambler resorts to borrowing money to finance his compulsion. It may be a credit card advance, or dipping into savings. He may ask for a loan from a friend.

• Lies and deception – In addition, it’s getting hard for the gambler to keep his facts straight, as he must weave ever more elaborate lies to cover his tracks, to keep others from knowing the extent of his gambling problem.

• Boasting about wins – Wanting everyone to think he’s still the happy-go-lucky gambler, the action compulsive gambler boasts about all his wins, never discussing his losses.

• Major setback – Eventually, the losses mount up, requiring an infusion of quick cash.

So be very careful when you let someone borrow your money, the best way is never let anyone borrows at all.

That's true e very correct. People not only should not gamble but even give money to someone which want to use those for gambling. His money are lost with 99% probability. For the same reason that have the gambler who want the money: because has lost his money. It is the same situation like it was the borrower himself which will gamble.

You should stop by the NitrogenSports chat and check out the loaning that is going on in there  Cool

I was there from time to time (only for some minutes each time though), but haven't seen that happening. But seriously, people are still lending on a chatroom to a random person on the net without collateral this day?

Well there are still people nowadays lending their money for profit, and there are lending companies that earn more
by doing so. but the problem is online lending is a big risk to take compare to a lending company because money is lend and
payed personally, online lending needs more security features before you let anyone lend your money! Grin

no one would believe people on internet, what a joke if someone ask borrow money to random person and then they give a loan but i admit still see that thing happening until now. addicting to gamble are the reason people borrowing money for gamble over and over again. just do gamble on our spare time.

I strongly disagree with people who borrow money for gambling.
Usually, they'll borrow money to recover their losses, but most of them will lose again Angry
Also, they often lie by saying they'll use it for other purpose & run away Angry

It happened to my friend & he tried to borrow money from me Sad

The lesson learned from this!

Never let anyone borrow from you specially online, without positive trust on a person,
but on second though don't lend money or BTC even to a friend!  Sad

I think many of the gamblers even when they don't have money for gambling but they barrow money for gambling. Do you agree on this?

I agree of course. They need money for gambling and they will find a way to come in possession of it so they can gamble. Or they will sell something that is not theirs. My neighbor sold everything from the house(it wasn't his, everything belonged to his parents ) and he lost it, there is more story's about him. But no one saw him in last two years... Who knows what is with him now.

In my part, that is applicable only to those persons that I know personally and have a capability of paying me back. I know other people who are borrowing money to me for gambling purposes but can pays me back as well so it depends on the situation and status of the borrower.

That's the most evilest thing to do, your neighbor has a illness called Compulsive gambling, also called gambling disorder, is the uncontrollable urge to keep gambling despite the toll it takes on your life. Gambling means that you're willing to risk something you value in the hope of getting something of even greater value. and he needs to be treated and go on a rehab.

Absolutely not. It is a bad idea to chase your loss in gambling, and it is a even worse idea to borrow money from others to chase your loss. You will just dig yourself into a bigger and bigger hole.

Agreed with you, this is not a good idea to borrow the money for the purpose of gambling. People should understand that they will loose these borrowed money also, this is really fake hope to regain the money by playing again by borrowed money. People are putting their self into the trouble, there will be only financial crises in their personal life.

If gambling is your addiction and one felt in then all is possible. To have an front of you just the vision of possible win ... then it`s all is possible and even to borrow new money is easiest way what to do.
I would recommend to look for someone who can help, but not to loan. Sad

I think rehabilitation is for people who wish to be better. That is most important. If they don't wish to be better, there is no way u can make them. As about my neighbor is that he don't wish it, that is life he choose and he is somewhere abroad. Last time i heard he was  in Spain, that was year ago.

But if the gambler it will be your son or daughter will you reasoning the same? Will leave he/she in its own without doing nothing? I not. I will try all the ways and at the and will force them to be rehabilitated. The same thing must do the relatives of everyone if they want the best or the goodness for someone which is addicted by something (read gambling for this case). If They will have the possibilities to do this they must try all the ways to rehabilitate someone addicted by the bad.
