i agree. i know 1 person here that did this. he asked for a loan in the lending section and when i check his address he just send the funds to one of luckyb.it's addresses and luckily he won that bet but still borrowing money just to gamble isnt a good idea as we should only gamble our excess funds

In my country we had gambling rehabilitation centers there are Inpatient Facilities and Outpatient Clinics that you can choose from, Gambling addiction treatment programs are confidential.

People who play gambling and seek to make loan need this rehabitation centers. In my opinion. Smiley

wow! Never heard of this kind of facility. Maybe this is a good idea since isolating them and keeping them away from access to gambling may help. What I know is these gambling addicts go through a series of counselling so they can somewhat be rehabilitated with their addiction.

Not all people can be caunseled because most of them have really great of addiction there and it is hard to make them stop at least for once. If they have money they will keep on gambling it again and again until they win all their loss but in the end it will worse their life. So that facility it great enough to hold them for gambling

You should NEVER borrow money to gamble. ....

When greed and need are joined together, you can see the gambler begging for his best friend even his family to borrow. And most of this case were cause by lossing and want to recover his loss

That is common mistake every gambler does because they are so much addicted to these gambling and they are greedy to recover money where they have a lost it so finally they lose more in this process of recovery. I don't suggest any one to lend money if they know one is using borrowed money for gambling.

Not all gambler are borrowing money to gamble again, some of them are using that money to open a business so they can recover their loss slowly. I do not agree that you can't lend money to them if you are not believe it may be you can try to put some interest in it so you would be at the same benefit

Well I'm pretty sure OP is referring to borrow money for gambling purposes and not in other stuff, and I'm certainly not gonna let gamblers to borrow money from me.

How you will know whether they can repay or not if they do not have any collaterals?
Interest is always great profit but there is always a big risk when you give loans without collateral.

That  is truly right excess funds could be gambled just dont get hooked with the game or try to win it back if you lose. Just let it go if you drained your excess funds.

What if they lose all the money, then he choose to not pay you and hides and never show his face again?
or if it is here in the forums makes new account then leaves his other account.

This is not only this one member issue but most of the full time gambler are in same problem. Who ever in thinks they can make a good money from gambling then they first try with their money and after losing slowly start borrowing with some collateral and after all collateral finish then think of cheating people and finally will be in deep problem. So if any one know they are borrowing money for gambling then don't lend them money even with collateral.

So if a newbie rank here say to you that he can repay then you will just lend? What a kind person you are. That's nice.

Anyways, yes of course you are making profits from interest but how can this be possible if the borrower won't pay you.

Your kindness is great but somehow making precautions are better.

Your kindness is will be disaster for you if you not consider who you lend. You should consider about what he/she collateral, it must equal with he/she amount and research first about he/she history. Better to give a lending to person who have good trust.

It doesn't mean he has to lend online using a bitcoin forum. I would of course lend money to anyone, but i'd never do it online using a fairly anonymous method like cryptocurrency.
Instead I'd make them sign a written agreement and get all their personal data. Safety first Wink

it's always depending in your luck and strategy, i agree that borrowing money just to gamble is a risky idea, sometimes you can win and earn some profit but it's not guaranteed every day

Most people don't borrow small amounts of real money for gambling though, unlike how they do it with crypto, as getting a loan with real money is a fairly long process. You don't really need a written agreement, or their personal info, etc., as long as you get the proper collateral, you should be able to cover your losses, and maybe even get a profit.

Indeed, people won't to borrow if they need to provide a real identity, especially in crypto world.

The agreement is not really need, just sign message with the main address, use an equal collateral and if this not enough yet, use an escrow.

I know using escrow are great, specially transactions like these, but I prefer the agreement part, if you can't follow the agreement then I will not let anyone borrow from me, because were talking about BTC here and it is better to be safe than sorry! Cheesy

Like investing in shares or stocks, it is better not borrow to invest. For gaming, it is just for fun. If you do not have the resources, then do not gamble.
