I choose bitcoin wallet just for doing transaction online so the payment can be fast.
But still all of my money is in the hands of bank.
yeah we could use it for 2 different things online and ofline. so the bank could be used in offline and online use bitcoin wallet. better than using one alone

Banks at my country  stop work all days around 22:00 soo with bitcoin i can pay whenever i wanna and without have to run to a machine to pay or withdraw some money to spend at night.Besides those banks charge me a fee all months because i have company, they pick a fee always the same ammount to them, just because my account has some volume montly of transactions, anyway the thing is with bitcoin i dont pay nothing besides a low fee ,and i doubt if i were able to pay the bills with bitcoin that the cost of bitcoin vs bank would reach 1/10 the fee.
Many people are of course loving the Bitcoin wallet and that is good. We all hope that it will be more used.
And that Bitcoin will also be more popular. But the most important is that the value also must rise.

Just use electrum folks, its easy to use and lightweight.

The bitcoin core wallet is also good but only if you have a big harddisk.

Hmm at some point this post is right if a user here will choose bitcoin wallet but the topic is all about the comparison between bank and bitcoin wallet.

Yeah, I and a number of my friends are complaining about that problem. Now is the time where we need 24/7 time transaction system and that is not fulfilled by banks, so we have to rely on bitcoin which bitterly perform such that duty anytime we need to send or receive money.

What kind of bank you have there? In my country we can access our banking needs 24/7 with their own smartphone app. And take note even holidays we can send money to our loved ones. That kind of bank has really lot of funds reserve when they are on break, midnight or holidays.

I would go for the bitcoin wallet due to the reason I have for using it, plus its also very good secured.
1. My first reason is that its easy and fast to use.
2. My second reason is because the bitcoin can be transferred to any country globally, due to the point my family lives in another country so I can transfer them money easily.
3. My last reason is its self controllable you are the one that is behind the ropes no body else.

Bank because I can earn monthly interest on my deposit to my bank account. I am confident that my funds will not go somewhere else because I'm deposited into the largest banking firm in our country. I am just using bitcoin for business/trading purposes.
Yes with bank you are getting profit because of your money deposited there but have you thought that from where that profit the bank gain which is paid to you? Actually these are a small fraction of the profit earned with your money by that bank. While If you yourself start some business with it you can earn all of your profit with them.

it's a trade off I guess. you don't get as high returns in exchange for greater security

I am using bitcoin in part because of my liking to the idea of decentralization in general and the fact there is no central authority, haven't a bank would complete negate this part in using bitcoin and would make it a currency like any other in general.

A bitcoin wallet, if a wallet is offering some form of profit from using the bitcoins to give to lenders and with low risks like with normal banks then it would be very decent IMO, but not a full bank...

No normal bank would accept a currency being mainly promoted as anonymous except for the reason of completely removing the anonymity part which allot of people would not agree on, bitcoin has enough liquidity from the market and I don't think a bank is necessary.

HaoBTc is offering this service already and the interest they are offering is higher than the normal bank. The only problem is would you trust them (haobtc) with your money since they dont have a physical branch that you can visit.

It is very hard to choose between the 2. You need a bank in your life, and a Bitcoin wallet is just there for people that want extra storage pretty much.

Simple when it comes to fiat i will go for bank and bitcoin wallet is for bitcoin.
Basically i do not think there will be any physical bank for bitcoin but we have these wallet which is much safer than banks.
I personally recommend blockchain and coinbase

Bitcoin wallet and bank account are two different things with different purpose. If one occupy the other's purpose, then only one will survive. Hopefully it would be bitcoin wallet.

Bitcoin wallets are the upgrade of bank accounts... except that you're your own bank and you have to run the services (lending, using CC, etc) by yourself, you'll have to run by your own (like, ask for a loan here in the forum or using btcjam, etc) there are tons of motives to use a btc wallets and forget about bank account.

agree with you. both are different things bitcoin is a commodity or currency. while the bank is as a place to save money. I even think the two could work together. bank legalize and accept bitcoin. of course we can save bitcoin in the bank. it will be very interesting right ?

I do agree that bit coin is very safer and faster digital currency and would over come banks perhaps very soon as well but banks have still their importance yet because one can save physically in bank where as digitally in BTC wallet. would be great if both ways work together in future and work jointly.
