just thought i ask if we have any name for it what do we call the fear of using bitcoins?? crypto-phobia
hope everyone can overcome their  crypto-phobia
i doubt that there is such a phobia to be honest, though people sometimes are afraid to use their bitcoins or other cryptos as they are afraid that their coins might be stolen pretty easily

i think the main thing that stops people from using bitcoins is their country governments as the countries that not allow the usage of bitcoins usually have less bitcoin users than the others

Lol I think no one is afraid of bitcoin. bitcoin phobia? I have never heard?
even we have to admit that a lot of people do not know about bitcoin. so there is no phobia about bitcoin

There are some people we dislike it, but afraid? No way. If you mean the banks and governements well yes they are afraid. Afraid people will step up and will have total control over their own money.

Transaction times and ease of use. Bitcoin needs a centralized 'paypal' like company to aggregate the bitcoins and make internal person to person transfers instant. But preferably not Paypal since they suck.

Once people can find jobs that get paid with Bitcoin all over the place they will start getting it and spending it because that's how it works. Give people better job offers than what they can find for fiat and they will do it, because the jobs are getting harder and harder to get due rising unemployment, im sure a lot of people will be happy to work for Bitcoin.

I also hope that Steam can bring a lot of people (Steam is adopting Bitcoin soon, finally)

What's stopping people from using bitcoin, you ask? The majority of people don't know what is bitcoin and they might as well never heard of it. People tend to fear the unknown, because the aren't informed about bitcoin, they fear that it's a scam or smth. Without proper knowledge about bitcoin, you'll never understand its advantages over fiat money. And because the majority of people are too lazy to study bitcoin, then they just ignore it.
Some people think is scam? I would say they must be wrong. Bitcoin is not a scam, I also thought the same when I first heard about it from my friend. The way he explained it made me think it’s scam, but it’s not. If it’s a scam, many users would have discovered that since. But people's imagination is real stopper I too believe.

It is in human nature to be scared from something that is new and on the first hand complicated. This must be clarified, good videos are needed. Especially those for dummies. Most people are mediocre users without much knowledge about cryptography..

Yeah someone creates a videos for teaching bitcoin to dummies. But who will promote it. Do we have a good community here that will do something for it to be popular to those people that dont have enough knowledge.
Yes we have a very god community and we will all share the video actually. But the problem is that the video should be easy and not too long, else again people will get bored with this. Already many videos in youtube but not much promotion though.

I think watching short  videos can be more effective, starting from basics and ending up showing everything related to bitcoin ins short span of time, but the video should be simple and not too technical.

People have fear of loosing their money by investing in digital currency as bitcoin is still new and majority of the people are not aware about it and they don't want to invest in new product.

Yeah everyone knew the reality of the bitcoin, only the hesitation is just based upon the fluctuations that happens as well the price being stable at unpredicted instances. This would surely change by the following years.

If price reaches to a descent level and remains stable for a long time then it can attract many users to think of start using bitcoin, and if it doesn't happen then bitcoin will need to put extra efforts to win the hearts of the people.
Yes exactly most of the users worry about the price of bitcoins. They think that they will make loss in this, while they actually dont know that they can also make profit in price fluctuations.

Still paypal has scam attempt issues and many problems, The thing that stops people from using bitcoin is that they think its just a waste of time as it needs a lot of time understanding bitcoin and they probably think it has no future.

In the start I was also thinking the same that it will take a large time to understand bitcoin and I do not have that much time, but when I involved in bitcoin, i learned about it within a few hours, and know I am expert in it, people should have to learn about anything and do not have to care about time while learning some good thing.

If you have an habit of learning new things then it will directly contribute to your earnings, as holding great knowledge will always be helpful in long run.

It could also be argued that there's no overwhelming reason for people to start using it.

Sure some are here to make money, some for ideological reasons, some because they love the tech, but what stops many people is the utter lack of a motivational reason to get involved.

they may be constrained when using bitcoin and then they give up and stop using bitcoin
Yes, there are some people who join faucet sites and PTC sites which pay in bitcoins , and after that they start to search for referrals, and they compel their friends and other people to join that sites and they make bitcoin wallets for them, their friends join these sites and bitcoin but as they do not get much knowledge so they sooner leave it.

Wow, you're quite good. You mastered it in a few hours. I wish I have that intelligence of yours. I am doing bitcoin for quite some time now and I am still not as confident as you are.

Its an innovation which most were unaware at the moment, but when years pass every one know about it. As suggested it also needs time to learn the technology. Some one who is not interested in technology avoids it. This also seems to be a reason for which users avoid bitcoin.

True, unless there's an instance in which they're forced to use the tech. Take for example the Greece financial crisis not long ago, a lot of Greeks jumped in to bitcoin space to protect their assets.

That is one of the facts. Seen it many times. Even if you explain it thoroughly there is no motivation there. You will see in their eyes that there is really no spark. Just a waste of saliva explaining it.

Probably the thing that keeping people away from using bitcoin is the territorial regulations and the harsh punishments  if found using the digital currency
others just want to the old school notes and coins

I think every country has different problem about using bitcoin, poor technology, bans, and lets face the reality that many people still don't know about bitcoin..
to the problem of people do not know much about bitcoin we will be reasonable with it. because not comprehensive deployment of bitcoin but many governments have given ban for bitcoin? of course it will hinder the spread bitocin. I think?
yeah country has its own problems. Fortunately in my country bitcoin is not banned

I think that people stop using Bitcoin because maybe they are making less money then they expected to make. Or it can also be that they just not have the patient, Bitcoin is all about patients and waiting for the prices to change.

Actually I do not know for sure why people stop using bitcoin. I think if people using bitcoin will definitely continue to use bitcoin. Maybe those people stop using bitcoin because they already have a busy life in the real world.
