It's official: we'll use SI system to name IOTA quantities.
And which unit will you officially recommend to markets to avoid chaos? The one that allow smooth and efficient trading. For example, the minimum buy allowed on Poloniex is 0.0001 BTC That is : 188.67924528 DOGE or 0.00495397 ETH or 0.04037679 XMR. Exchanges will use the most practical unit according to their buy limits.

So great. It's of importance to step to standardization in IoT industry.

1 mega-iota (1 million) as the base unit looks pretty good to me. We will have 2,779,530,283 mega-iota which is 2.7795 times of the old iota. The one mega-iota's price will be the current old iota price divided by 2.7795. For instance, if the current old iota's price is 2000 satoshi, the new one mega-iota's price is 2000/2.7795=720 satoshi.

Glad IOTA got rid of decimals!!! I just got to get familiar with big integers. BTC always looked strange from the first place with all these decimals. you don't need to use big integers just use this: 1 KiloIota = 1 kIota = 1 000 Iota 1 MegaIota = 1 MIota = 1 000 000 Iota 1 GigaIota = 1GIota = 1 000 000 000 Iota 1 TeraIota = 1 TIota = 1 000 000 000 000 Iota great to know.thanks!!!

It would be nice if we could get this finalized sooner rather than later.
Once we get an official post defining the terms and units to go by the transition should be smooth from there IMO

I have a proposal: 926 510 999.073 489 max supply for IOTA (I am slightly miscalculated it yesterday...) 926 510 094.425 920 max supply for IOTA The atomical unit is micro IOTA The supply in micro IOTA's in ternary: 11 111 111 111 111 111 111 111 111 111 111 For m2m the unit is micro IOTA. micro IOTA's for micro transactions For GUI, Exchanges, coinmarketcap.com, ... the unit is IOTA. lower supply than previous => remains no problem for JavaScript, and - I think - for 32 bit micros without FPU also no problem more Only 1 trits smaller as the proposal of developers. I think it is a small loss. But it is comparable in trading to NXT, old IOTA i.e. So it is not so risky => better negotiablethe magical multiplicator is: 926 511 composed of THREE prime numbers multiplied together see http://numbermatics.com/n/926511/Please comment.

This is probably already locked into the code (changing even 1 trits worth could require a bit of work.) Still, at a glance this sound interesting. Take it into the chat room (chat.iotatoken.com).

A Personal Quote on BTT from 2011: "I'd be willing to make a moderate "investment" if the value of the BTC went below $2.00. Otherwise I'll just have to live with my 5 BTC and be happy. :/" ...sigh. If only I knew.

Are the project founders known to the general public? Do you use LinkedIn or a similar service?
Thank you!

Yes, if it's left up to exchanges and services (who do not expect to have to do this and also should not have to) it will not be good for the market and adoption. Simply declaring 1M or 10M atomic iotas for example as the standard human unit, and giving it a name, will be not too much work for the IOTA team and will save a lot of potential headaches. The human unit name I feel should be IOTA, since it has name recognition, and IOTA as a ticker symbol is already pushing the limits at 4 characters.

Real business contacts are not established via sites like LinkedIn. A decade ago I made a reputation of high-load backend developer and people are still approaching me via 2-3 chain links. Literally today I've got yet another offer to join a MMOG project as a CTO despite of the fact that I haven't been working on publicly known MMOG projects for several years. LinkedIn founder monetized a dick-measuring-contest idea, good for him. If one day I decide to create a profile and get thousands contacts I'll use my photo in bikini with photoshopped boobs as the avatar.

Question: Those of us that bought IOTA on NXT AE, so we'll we receive the multiplied amount since it was increased?

I can't see why not, but I would ask the person you bought from as it's ultimately their decision.

I can't see why not, but I would ask the person you bought from as it's ultimately their decision. Of course, any other thing would be really unfair.
