Complete Newbie, I apologize in advance if I offend anyone.
I obtained a 2.4 Wallet a week ago and successfully sent a bunch of Iota there and it did display the correct balance, and under History it did display the correct History as to Transfer History and Addresses History. Of course, now a week later there shows No Balance, 0 History Transfers and 0 Addresses History.
That begs the first question, since now I find out that literally thousands of wallet holders are experiencing the same problem, why would such a Wallet ever have been released in the first place?? And we know this is not something particular to 2.4 Wallet, this situation has been going on since the beginning AND it's still going on with the newest Releases!! WTF The Slack and here are inundated with Iota holders wanting answers and no one seems to provide any concrete solutions and yet they just keep issuing new Wallet updates. How about testing the Wallets before you actually release them, you think!
Okay, now I have Zero Balances in my Iota Wallet...... when I have a BTC address I can just look at the History of that particular Address through Blockexplorer/blockchain.info/etc., and see all the History/ transactions /Balances of that particular Address, But apparently that's too difficult to do here with Iota? Really? And please don't suggest Iota.tips, that does no good at all. Put an all purpose Iota BlockExplorer right on the front page of your main website so everyone has the same ability to look at their Wallet Address.
Devs and Founders, if you ever want have a really viable and mainstream coin that the general public can take to as an investment or useful asset/currency etc., then these simple enormous oversights have to be solved Before you move forward with other developments.
If I understood correctly, a wallet that solves these issues will be released soon(TM). Do you prefer the devs focus on the core tech or on marketing, fancy website and wallet? Think about this. Many people have the issue. As I have learned reading the last pages there is a wanted reason The tangle was completely deleted because it was like a hard fork. It has been taken a snapshot of all balances at a particular point. Technically, unconfirmed transactions at the time of snapshot do not belong to one or another account. Thus they had to transferred to a special account what is controlled by the foundation I guess. Read the previous pages. There is information that helps you to get it better. Yes the problem of non confirmed tx during the snapshot has been addressed and is being under study atm. But once again, no fund is lost. Let the time to the (quickly growing) team to polish the beast.

I created an iOS app as POC for an idea I had in my mind for some time. Currently the app uses a regular rational database. I want to create a version based on decentralized database, in particular on the tangle. I don't run a IOTA node. Is there a IOTA node or testnet available to use for development and testing activities?
Oh, and is there a ready-to-use API wrapper for Objective-c or Swift available?

The world's first blockchain smartphone is in development https://www.engadget.com/2017/09/26/blockchain-smartphone-sirin-finney-solarin/............According to Sirin, all Finney devices (there's an all-in-one PC coming, too) will form an independent blockchain network powered by IOTA's Tangle technology. The network will operate without centralized backbones or mining centers cluttering up the transaction process, using the SRN token as its default currency (only SRN token holders will be able to purchase the device). And it'll all run on a Sirin operating system specially designed to support blockchain applications such as crypto wallets and secure exchange access...........

Someone here who can answer my question I posted here yesterday? I would be very grateful. I haved tried a bunch of ways to figure out the complete history. Either I have not find the right way yet or it is just impossible because of the resets of the decentralized network. I got my first IOTA in August 2016. I have kept them by today. In my country it is required to report incomings of crypto to the finance authority in order to legalize it and not being accused to do money laundry. I want to do this (don't worry, the expected tax is low compared to the value of IOTA). I tried to retrace my current IOTA back to August 2016 and failed. I think it is because the multiple transitions and the totally deleted tangle.
Can I retrace my current IOTA to August 2016 without having a gap like I can do on a blockchain?

I have some Giotas that I've been holding and now it looks like it's going to be very difficult to sell them. Bitfinex is out, because I'm in the U.S. The slack trading channel is dead. I once did a trade with escrow through the bitcointalk iota trading thread but that thread is now dead too. YDX requires an invite. Where does a guy go to trade? I'm not going to use a vpn and lie to bitfinex.

I fear you have to wait until other exchanges list it. Another possibility is to find a trusted dude who sell it for you on bitfinex.

After upgrading to the newest IOTA Light Wallet 2.5.1 i experienced an error when attaching new addresses to the tangle. The solution is not obvious but i found it! TLDR: If you have a Laptop with a modern NVIDIA graphics card it is probably not active. Instead the default Intel graphics processor is active. You have to switch to use NVIDIA graphics processor for the Wallet. https://steemit.com/iota/@tector/iota-light-wallet-2-5-1-dealing-with-invalid-transaction-hash

check your address in iota explorer if you know it number of adresses to attach depends on previous number of transactions executed
