.. most of the time MVP is given to players who plays in a team that is highly ranked, barely under 5th seed and usually goes to first seed most of the time.

It's not always with the team rankings at the end of the season but mostly it was based on the stats throughout the season. As an example, Russell Westbrook before got his Season MVP award while his team OKC finished the 6th spot on that season.

And also not just by PPG, it should be accompanied by other stats too to make a good stat line. As of the latest MVP ladder, Steph Curry was in the 9th spot. Let's see if he can climb with the rankings although it's just about 15-16 games left before the end of the season if I'm not mistaken.

@wiss19, I think Curry could still get an MVP once their team will quality in the playoffs,

Playoffs have nothing to do with Season MVP selection.

@wiss19, I think Curry could still get an MVP once their team will quality in the playoffs, they don't need to win a championship or be in the NBA Finals as Giannis had the same scenario in the past but he still won the regular season MVP.

Curry is on an improve level now, he can score 30 points easily, I guess that's his average now (Correct me if I'm wrong), and the way I see it, he is so happy playing and basketball seems easy for him.

As I have said before, Curry is on a personal mission to win the scoring title this year. Bradley Beal is still leading though, but let's see after this week, if Curry's incredible streak continues, he can have overtaken Beal and won the scoring title.

I wouldn't say that he is on an improve level, he is really on his prime right now, 33 years old and carrying his team on his shoulder.

Golden state might make it in the playoffs with this kind of performance of curry but, is the team management realizing that they are shortening curry's playing time in the league? if he will take the load of the team he might just 2-3 years before retiring, if you have a precious player you have to manage his playing time for the good of the team and that player, there is no sense of letting him play with nothing to loose then will be eliminated in the first round, that's a bit careless for the management.

I think it was Curry's decision to really play and not do load management this year as compare to other teams or players who wishes to sit down and not play. Medical science has advance throughout the years, so I think he can still play 2-3 years down the line because they are going to protect him with sports science. So it's not careless though, they know the risk involved here and Steph and his family know this as well.

Load management isn't a problem for him since he can still play as long as he wants too. I agree though that he can still play 2-3 years and can play like how he is playing when he is on its prime. See LBJ, he is 36 years old already and he always play on an MVP level and there is one time where he is the highest leading player in minutes played. Medical Science really has improved and players are recovering from their injuries faster that what is normal.

Now regarding Golden State going into the playoffs with how Curry is playing, I don't think that it will happen. I'm a fan of GS since the GS dynasty and until now but the reality is, Steph can't carry his team to the playoffs or at least if the GS will make it into the playoffs they will not advance at least into the second round. He might play like this till the end of the season but playoffs is a complete different scenario already. They need a healthy Klay to at least say that they are a playoff contender but for now, its a no for me.

I thought Pelicans could find a way to win it against the a short crew Nets but I was wrong.
Lost my bet once again but the game was also intense. What I was scared for did happen. Kyrie wore his hot hands and dominated the game.
Harris also made a large contribution to seal the win.
My last chance is for the Clippers to win it. But, Trail Blazers is also fighting back even without Lillard playing. McCollum leading the team and always better when Lillard is not around.  - Won

He can still do it for the next years to come and his game these past days is improving there's no doubt if Thompson is on the court this season this team is still a major threat to the western conference. they are currently top 9 in the western conference and they are doing well as of now. the remaining games will much likely answer the questions of whether he still got it or he won't be the same as when he was in his prime. But if you ask me, the man can still shoot the ball well and manage to won some games and that is enough to think that he can be still like that after some years from now.

Kyrie Irving will always wore that hot whenever he is alone (sans KD and Harden) and it seems that they have good chemistry with Joe Harris.

I usually stay away from Nets game but against the young Pelicans with an attractive odds, it's fortunate that i put a little on the ML.

There a report that Harden will be out indefinitely, this is very bad news for them as KD is also struggling from injury and i doubt Kyrie alone can lift his team against top tier teams.

I have them ML @2.20, I know that Nets is short handed, but I think NOP is very inconsistent that they forget to win a game know. So it's a win for me, although in the beginning I thought it was a trap again and I have to question why the punters are putting Nets as a underdog against the Pels.

Yes, Joe Harris, I also bet on him whether to score "x" points this game. Love this guy and he is a perfect tandem to Kyrie.

Curry is still on his prime, probably when Thompson will be back next year it will be a different GSW. Not the same as when they have a run at the NBA, but we might see them chasing another ring when him, Klay and Green back very healthy and with the young set of guys that they have right now.

No question about it, Curry has lead his team this season with his historic shooting and scoring. But I'm not sure if that is enough for a ring, probably they will be having a hard time winning on the first round of the playoffs. But what's important is that these young guys get the experience.

Yeah I agree but they need a better rebounder first before they became a totally different team once Thompson is back since if they just rely on their current rooster still they will provably struggle since they don't have legitimate solid defender or other who can do the dirty works aside from green, If they can manage to accumulate a good player well we can definitely say that GSW is a title contender again next season.

The last moments of the Trail Blazers - Clippers game was really exciting. When the score was 112-111, Powell missed a very valuable 3-pointer. If he scored that one, maybe his team were going to win this game. After Clippers got ahead 113-112, McCollum got a crucial opportunity to help his team get ahead and even win the game but he missed the medium-range shot and Clippers managed to be the winner.

That was without Leonard, and Blazers are playing at home, this team has still not improve yet, they will not be in the WCF this season. However, it was really a nice game to watch, it's just that, Blazers are now in a long losing streak, hopefully they'll not dig a hole on that.

Honestly unless you are at the very end of your career load management is a little dumb.  You play to win every year.  If golden state load manages Steph and gives him a game off a week or only let's him ay half a game those are almost assured losses.  Sorry but if I'm a coach and steph is healthy he is on the court.

They have been playing without Leonard for quite some time now and yet they still manage to win very close game. As for Portland though, no Lillard that's why they have a difficult time winning the game. Portland after the the all star break is playing really good. Unfortunately, they are on a skid right now, and without Dame, will be difficult to bet on them.

Portland has a lot of opportunities to win that game against the Clippers, but they didn't have the breaks in that game and it's unfortunate that they have to lost another close game like this.

And then Paul George with crucial free throws in the last 4.8 seconds, capping a night with 33 points. I guess Portland will need the services of Lillard and Nurkic as they are losing streak.

I personally think load management is bullsh*t (unless If necessary) and I think some teams are abusing it just to let their superstar rest and avoid injury. I mean everyone is susceptible to injury and it really feels like load management is somehow considered as cheating. Fans are paying tickets to see their favourite team and players.
I remember the Spurs was fined by the NBA for benching out Duncan, Parker, and Ginobili while the playoffs was closely approaching.

Curry doesn't need any of those. He's hungry to win and play from regular season to the playoffs.

The NBA is at fault here, they should not created this "load management" because it's hard to control it to be honest. A team will certainly find ways to preserve their players to avoid injury, especially when they are already guaranteed with the playoff spot, I think they should review this as there's a lot of criticism about this, they are making NBA soft, missed the old days, sorry.

No question about it, Curry has lead his team this season with his historic shooting and scoring. But I'm not sure if that is enough for a ring, probably they will be having a hard time winning on the first round of the playoffs. But what's important is that these young guys get the experience.
Sure, Curry is a phenomenal scorer, but he needs more support from teammates because GSW's participation in the playoff is still questionable. Even if the Warriors will end this season at the current position, then they need to win another two games to reach the playoff.

They are not expected to make it to the playoffs because they miss Thompson, however, the way they are playing, they are really competitive and I think the new rules that the top 10 is included in the playoff elimination really help them as they have a shot to be included in the playoffs.

Just trust Curry and his team, they may look so underrated now but we know that GSW has a championship experience and were champions for like 2 or 3 times, so they are still a tough team to beat.
