I also heard that Phoenix could also be a destination for Bronny, so just imagine if Lebron goes to the Suns with KD and Booker and then Bronny that will be awesome combo. But we will see, for sure there are going to be many teams that will try to get Bronny because they know what the perks will be as they can also get his father and then the team making history.

However, they will not be the first one to do that in basketball because as early as the 90's the Philippines had achieved that, although the Father, Jaworski Sr, didn't play but insistent of being the coach, (he was a player/coach as well).

Maybe here Lebron and Bronny will play together.
Suns would not be ideal to be fair, because Booker and KD being there is one thing but it would not help them at all to be like that. They are mostly old, and getting together with other old players is not a great way. I think it would be smart if Lebron moved to Suns that won't work, but the reality is that Klay Thompson is about to test FA and could fit amazingly for Lakers. Imagine having Klay, AD and Lebron on the same team, that would really work great for them and I think they can do so much damage.

Sure Klay isn't who he used to be, but I think he could work a bit more and get better, he had a serious injury and I think we should probably see him getting a bit better, he isn't that old to start being bad now.

His career might be over but I think that he can still continue it somewhere else or with college basketball that needs an experienced coach. Regardless of his run with the Pistons, experience-wise, he's got it. But if not, he's got hefty money to start with and go with venture capitalists for that money for him to invest. Anyway, it's all about connections there and he sure has got a lot of it. It may be frustrating for the Pistons and him but somewhere, he'd find another home.
Well, that's what I said also with Doc Rivers when he chokes many times when he's the coach of both the Clippers and the Sixers. Now there's the Bucks who still got him despite of what happen in the past. I'm not saying that it's over though because I believe that he's still a good coach. It's just that, he's on a bad team like the Pistons. Let's not forget how he carried the Suns in the NBA Finals in his first year.

As for him continuing it somewhere else, it will depend on how much the offer will be because the Pistons still owe him $65M for the next 5 years. I mean if another team will offer him way more (which is highly unlikely), we might not see him coaching another team aside from the Pistons. As for the Pistons, did they find another coach already? Cheesy
I don't think that the Pistons have already found their coach. But soon they will and I agree to you that the offer to him is either going to be bigger than or par with the salary he's got with the Pistons. Or, he'd be the one willing to adjust and just take any of those job offers if there's something being offered to him. Well, he can be picky but if he's up for the competition then he won't be then.

Klay to the Lakers sounds much more feasible than Bronny and LeBron to Phoenix. Suns would have to give up too much to get the deal done whereas the Lakers prob just trade 1 guy and done.

There is always that condition on the contract that they can kick you out anytime they wish or revoke the contract but they have to pay you the entire agreed amount.

I don't think it work that way, you mean the whole amount of the 4 years contract? That seems a lot of money to waste in case a coach will be fired during his first year.

Your statement maybe right, I won't anymore edit my first statement as I said that before this research made. So according to this reddit post, when a coach gets fired, he will be paid for the rest of his contract but once he is hired by a new team, the previous team will be relieve from their responsibility of paying the coach.

This is the source of information.
https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/18s8hs5/when_an_nba_coach_is_fired_is_his_contract/?rdt=36473
Quote
So suns coach was fired and Detroit hired him, is suns still paying him? Smiley

Quote
no Suns were relieved of paying the remainder of his deal, once the coach got hired as a head coach by another team

its why Monty got such a high salary from the Pistons. he was still getting paid out $8m or something from the Suns for sitting.

in a way firing Monty also saved Ishbia money bc Vogel likely didnt sign for as high a contract figure.

you can double dip in salary as long as you dont sign as a head coach though— ie Mike Brown was still getting paid out by the Cavs when he was an assistant coach w the Warriors

Quote
Contract offset.

https://x.com/Gambo987/status/1664298967881109504
Quote
There was an offset in Monty Williams contract with the Suns so the Suns are not responsible for the remaining money left on his contract
Of course and that makes sense that the previous team won't be obliged of paying him anymore because he's hired by a new team/management.

But until he's not hired, the previous team will have to honor the contract and Monty won't go to the corner of his house having some sad moments.

He's getting paid until a new team gets him so, he can even retire with that money I guess and thanks for your research mate.

There's no update yet if what will be his fate, though same with your opinion he can be picky in terms of signing a new job but for now there's no option maybe he will take his rest or find another job outside NBA, which mostly happened with former coaches, or take a much lower position as assistant if ever that there's no available head coach for him, it's on his decision making but for now that contract from Piston is no longer active as he did not met what the management expected from him.

Yeah, it's always a dream for any father to stay healthy and play with your son, I think they are really working on it and it might be one of the reason why LeBron will stay, having his son on his team and getting a new coach who can lead the young star to take some minutes of playing and allow him to improve his confidence, I guess it's happening Bronny will be playing with his dad and the two will make a history, we never know we might see them both playing with another superstar who will help them to be more competitve, anything can happen, let's wait for any upcoming updates regarding to this.
Lebron has said that before that wherever is Bronny will be drafted, he'd go there as well. It's not like an instruction or whatnot but I think he as a father just really want to play with his son on the NBA. One latest team that would like to get Bronny is the Timberwolves. I can imagine if that's for real, they're already a champ contender and with their current roster, adding Lebron on them would do something good I guess.

And at the same time, Bronny will get a veteran guard there to give him some tip. Aside from his father, it's gonna be Mike Conley. So, that's something a win-win or wherever these two goes but not probably to the team that's wanting to get them. As it's gonna be costly and at the same time, they get a rookie to absorb and an older version of Lebron. But let's see.

Nobody with true championship aspirations wants the distraction of the bronny and lebron circus.  Timberwolves already have the core to compete, they don't need to waste a draft pick on bronny and then have lebron at 40 come to the team.  40 year old free agents or even close to that age never worked out for any team.  Bron should just stay with the Lakers and see if he can press them forward next year.  Only other spot I can see him in is going back to Cleveland.

Being the Lakers coach has a lot of drawbacks. You’ll be blamed if they lose and you aren’t even the one calling the shots. You’ll be scrutinized and constantly in the news. Then you’ll be fired before your contract is up. However, there is a plus side. You can sign a long term deal knowing you’ll get paid in full while only working 1/3 of the deal before being fired. Sure, your career is most likely over at that point, but the layout and lack of work is pretty incredible.
That's the problem with the Lakers. The pressure by being a coach in LA is too high, and I consider the environment around it as harsh. As for the Lakers, we've seen it happen in their past 2 coach in Frank Vogel and Darvin Ham. Even though both coaches gave them a title (NBA Title and In-season tournament), they didn't immune to the criticisms from their fans and other audiences. Maybe this is the problem when you are in a team which is considered "all-time great".

With regards to the contract, just look at Monty Williams on the Pistons. They gave him a huge contract at the start of the season, and when the Pistons saw what happened to them, they fired him just a few days ago. They still owe him around $70 Million for 6 years (IIRC) which is pretty great. Career is most likely over? I guess so, but he can just sign with another team as a head coach if he wants to and some team wants him. At the end of the day, things like this are pretty common already especially now that many teams always wanted to have a new coach if they see their team struggling all throughout the regular season.

Imagine getting fired but having a guaranteed $70million still coming in lol.  I'm sure Monty Williams is just fine.  And yeah this isn't the end of the road for him he can easily get a job as a college basketball coach, or even an NBA assistant.  With the money coming in guaranteed he can choose whatever he wants to do now good for him.

For sure it is since there will just a lot of drama will happen when they let Lebron and Bronny plays together then maybe it will not give any good result to any contender team like Timberwolves so for sure they will step aside that possibilities and focus to develop their team more since they already have a solid pieces which can able to bring a championship to their team.

I guess Lakers is only interested with this show since they always supports Lebron's Legacy so maybe this is the perfect team for this possible duo. I don't know if there would be a team will gonna push this since I think its not really beneficial for them to get Bronny since I guess he cannot provide solid performance yet to the team. But for marketing and ticket sales maybe there's huge effect since maybe lots of people would be interested in that scenario.

Thanks for agreeing with me. Cheesy

This is why the Pistons' management sucks. They got a bust player a few years ago in Killian Hayes. Yes, they got Cade, but they didn't get good players after that. It's just too sad for them that after tanking for how many years, they still can't get that number 1 draft pick since Cade. What's even worse is that they paid Monty Williams a 6-year $70M just to fire him after his first year. What a clown they really are.

He's good, and like what I said, other teams can just hire him as long as they're willing to pay higher than what the Pistons are giving to him (which is around ~$12M per year). I don't think that somebody who coached the Pistons like that will give him a huge contract though. TBH, I'm thinking "what if nobody will hire him in the next 5 years? At that time, there might be better coaches than him anymore." It's a possibility that in 5 years' time, nobody will hire him anymore because we might see better coaches already.

Anyway, I saw on a Facebook post that the Lakers are interested in getting CP3. Who do you think the Lakers will give just to get the "Point God"?

I haven't seen or read anything about this yet. But regarding Paul George not Chris Paul, it's rumored that the Warriors have big chance of landing Paul George in case they decide to let go of Klay Thompson. I think it's good idea for the Warriors if Klay Thompson will leaves the roster and they replace him with PG13. But the question is, what will be the cost in terms of cash or the performance of the Warriors?

But for me, what they should focus on is getting a proper center. I think they're lacking in the bigman  or center in their current roster.

NBA Draft Pick is near.
We know this could change the whole rotation of one team especially if the player is really good.
Paolo Banchero, Victor Wembanyama, Chet Holmgren, Jabari Smith Jr., and more rookies have already become starters on their respective teams.

The first 3 picks of the first rounds will come from these teams.

1. Atlanta
2. Washington
3. Houston (from Brooklyn)
https://www.nba.com/news/2024-nba-draft-order

Here is the mock draft from Bleacher Report.
https://www.nba.com/news/bleacher-report-full-2-round-mock-draft-with-1-week-to-go
1. Atlanta Hawks: Zaccharie Risacher - SG/SF
2. Washington Wizards: Alex Sarr - C/PF
3. Houston Rockets: Reed Sheppard - PG/SG

1. It's obvious that the Hawks need more height and muscles. They already have Trae Young and Deounte Murray who are exceptional on the offensive end. Defense is what the Hawks will try to upgrade more.
2. Wizards offensive power is also strong and their total score each game is proof of that. They also lack defense underneath the rim after giving up Daniel Gafford to the Mavs.
3. The Rockets are already a strong team right now but with only Fred VanVleet as their ballhandler. They need someone who will back him up and this pick will probably be a key for them to strengthen that. Perhaps Fred's experience could be passed on to the rookie, especially from being a champion in the Raptors team.

That's true, they need to improve their defense, but actually Trae Young also have to improve his defense as he is on the floor with majori minutes and he might just be a target int he switch. Just like Curry, he is an exceptional shooter but in the long run he was able to improve his defense, that's why the Warriors are a strong defensive team despite lack of size.

I hope we will see a surprise next season, especially those teams who would get the top 3 in the pick as for sure the players that they'll draft are skilled and could change the team with a good improvement. Next season also, Trae Young will be fully recovered from injury, and maybe we will again see the Hawks in the playoffs.

Yeah right, even how good his offense if he can't play that good defense especially now where big players are capable moving with the ball it' tough when a switch take place and a scorer will take him and challenge his defense, same with what Steph did not just for offense but he also manage to bring that good defense and able to compete with whoever take the switch though not an easy task especially if you are the main gunner of your team but we never know if what Trae will show up this upcoming season.

Luka was even a target for the Boston because he is not a good defensive player, and he is even bigger than Trae Young. I think Trae is similar with Mike Conley who is a liability in the defensive end, so he should be able to offset that with his exceptional offense, so he'll not have a negative rating while on the floor. Conley is 6 6′ 0", while Trae Young is 6′ 1″... Both small PG, but great with their offensive game. Steph actually is 6′ 2″

What do you guys think about the Warriors possibly signing Paul George if Klay decides to leave? As a Warriors fan, I would be sad to see Klay playing with another team, but he is really done for unless he gains back his confidence next season. Steph badly needs someone else who can help him offensively. When it comes to offense, I think PG is a better choice right now. Steph still has something left and still has a chance to get a ring, at least one or two, before he retires. It's just that he doesn't have much help, especially from Klay last season.

1. It's obvious that the Hawks need more height and muscles. They already have Trae Young and Deounte Murray who are exceptional on the offensive end. Defense is what the Hawks will try to upgrade more.

I thought that there are talks of Trae Young and even Murray going to be traded and the franchise resetting itself.

But let's see, last season was bad for them as Trae was not 100% and so we didn't see that 'shimmy', Lol. But I do agree that they lack size and they don't have defensive presence and so they should be really taking players to have to fill the defensive vacuum to be a contender in the East.

It could be a good tandem, Curry + Paul George, maybe it will be similar to Curry with KD before. Curry still has plenty inside of him in my opinion. He still has the fire inside of him to get one more ring. But the thing is that it takes a lot of pieces to be perfect and last season Klay was not existent and then a lot of their players are inconsistent like Wiggins and Kuminga. They really need someone to spark like what Paul can bring to them and he is also a good defensive player like Klay Thompson. So let's see how the Warriors are going to align their players again. Of course, we don't want to see the Splash Brothers breaking, but it's not personal for this two, they will have to part ways if it's no longer working.

George is great addition to Warriors if this plan will happen the guy still a offensive threat to any of his opponent and we see him perform so good on clippers so if Warriors will get him if Klay decide to leave then I guess there team still fine with that.

But its still good if Klay and Warriors would have a good settlement on contract since its still nice to see him wearing Warriors uniform next season also he deserve to get decent contract since he contribute a lot for lot of past success what Warriors get. But that's how business runs on NBA so I guess its up to Klay if he settle with possible contract to give by Warriors or move on to teams that can offer more possible good contract to him. He doesn't need to prove anything he's already a champ. So lets see how this drama will go if Klay would get a contract with Warriors or move to other team that can give him more better offers.

Warriors though doesn't have history of having great centers throughout their championship run, and because it is run by Steve Kerr, who's experience with the Bulls are the same, no great big man but the center is on Michael Jordan, same with the Warriors Steph Curry. So I don't think that will be their priority. And if Klay leaves for sure they are going to pursue the likes of Paul George as a replacement. Remember they have a great pick, and a lot of promise in James Wiseman, but they traded him away to the Detroit Pistons.

If Klay won't leave then maybe they will get another wingman or another role player that can fill the void in their defense. And maybe we will see Andrew Wiggins in the trade block as his game has been deteriorating in the last 2 seasons.

PG is not the same as before maybe Kawhi is much better because of his defensive capabilities but in general I don’t agree for any trade to Clippers star since both of them are injury prone already. Warriors will have a good chance of winning for a player like KD that is less injury prone per year.

PG and Kawhi are glass cannon players which is effective on some games but not durable which is a disadvantage during playoffs. They shouldn’t trade Klay for a glass cannon player if they want a championship chance.
