I doubt that he can match Wemby considering how good Wemby is now and the experience he already gain during the finals. Only if his teammates are consistent on supporting maybe they can beat Knicks.
I’m sure Spurs already do fine adjustments this summer break since they still have Pop guiding them.
Regarding Thanasis, it’s a good decision since he will not develop well on NBA.
This is also what I read from our basketball fans, that Tacko is going to be used against Wemby. But it's the biggest mistake if they thought that they can match him against the Alien. Not saying that Tacko can't guard, but Wemby is on a different league with some of the tallest player that we ever seen in the NBA. And Wemby is still growing and might be gaining some muscle too. With that he could be on a different version again as he is hard to be push in the middle plus his athleticism. There have been a lot of strategies that they have put on Wemby and so far none has work.

Courtesy of Shams… The NBA has ruled on the Kawhi situation.
“The NBA has ruled on the Los Angeles Clippers in for salary cap circumvention investigations on Kawhi Leonard after yearlong probe -- stripping the franchise of 5 first-round picks, issuing a $30 million fine to owner Steve Ballmer and suspensions for Ballmer, Lawrence Frank and Gillian Zucker, sources tell ESPN.
Kawhi Leonard will have to pay $700,000 in restitution for improper benefits by the Clippers for his uncle and former business rep, Dennis Robertson. No contract void or suspension for Leonard. And Robertson -- who was fired by Leonard in June -- is being banned by the NBA from all business dealings.”
Ouch! For the Clippers. I really hope Adam Silver will be more like this. Strict with the rules. Severe punishments. Just to let the team owners and players know that they cannot do crazy things in the NBA. Honestly, that $700k fine against Kawhi Leonard seems to be a little soft. Anyway, without the owner and 2 presidents, I think they already made some arrangements before this happened. Expect the Clippers not to move anything in this trade or in free agency. I am curious about who will monitor those three if they are deciding anything for the team? It's clearly said that "suspended from anything to do with the team". Well, they can still text and call, and the NBA might never have an idea they are doing that without anyone monitoring them.

I don't expect such result, since what I think Steve Balmer can escape with this issue, but still great decision for the commissioner for dropping such big decision. It can help the league avoiding any unwanted deals and make everything fair to any team. Also to bad for uncle of Leonard, since his banned in NBA. That means no pay checks for him anymore. They are been heavily affected with the decision drop by NBA. But for Leonard? he easily escape and for sure he can provide that $700k penalty and continue to play.

It's not about that amount on Kawhi or Steve Balmer's penalty of the millions. It's about their future draft pick that will really hurt them down the line. So that alone put the Clipper in a bad angle in the next 5 years or so and we might say that they won't be a contender. Anyway, without the owner and 2 presidents, I think they already made some arrangements before this happened. Expect the Clippers not to move anything in this trade or in free agency. If I'm not mistaken, it could be the same independent party that investigated this case. So they are going to closely monitor what's going on with the Clippers management, their players contract in and outside as a precautions. And other teams should take notice of this incident and should not repeat and just follow the strict rules of the NBA and do not circumvent at any cost.

Courtesy of Shams… The NBA has ruled on the Kawhi situation. ---
Just to add to what you said, I feel bad for the Clippers right now for what they risked in order to be in where they at right now. Imagine you let PG13 and Kawhi in the team in exchange for a 2-time MVP in SGA, multiple draft picks, and now because of the Kawhi scandal, your team MIGHT be stripped of 5 1st round picks in the future. I don't care about the punishments of other people including Ballmer, but that 5 1st round picks basically hinders you from rebuilding. In short, this team will be a mediocre team for the next 5 years. No draft picks, all decent players in their roster. Bottom tier team at best, and I don't even see them as a play-in contender. It's a good thing that Kawhi's contract isn't voided which means that the trade has officially happened and he's now a Raptor. However, despite of Kawhi's achievements throughout his career, he will be most remembered as the player who tried to circumvent a salary to do NOTHING. Well it's good to see that this scandal has been solved... or is it already? Because it seems like Ballmer will try and make an appeal with the decision of the league. They knew it was not legal but they still they continue anyway so that is the price they need to pay plus the suspensions that the management got, losing drop pics and other things are okay, because if the NBA ban for example balmer that is a big blow, they made it to themselves. The clippers will now again be in the bottom unless someone on the current rooster will turn this team around, its the rookies responsibility now, they should have not done this in the first place they knew it all along.

They are the only ones who got punished, but the team is still there. This is a billion-dollar organization, so it’s impossible that they don’t have some kind of succession plan. If the president is out, there will surely be someone who can step in and manage the operations. The bigger question for me is what happens on the court. With their current situation and everything that happened recently, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Clippers struggle badly this coming season. They could even become one of the weaker teams in the NBA for a year or two while they try to recover and rebuild.

But for Leonard? he easily escape and for sure he can provide that $700k penalty and continue to play.
That is probably nothing for him financially because he is already making millions from his contract, and he is still playing. If he gets another deal later, he could earn millions again, so the money itself may not be a big issue. But reputation-wise, it still does not look good because his name is now connected to what happened. As for the Clippers, they really look done for now. It’s crazy how a team that once reached the Conference Finals suddenly became this bad. This could end up being one of the worst periods in their franchise history. Too bad, because not long ago they were still considered a serious contender.

This clearance is now officially making him move to the Toronto Raptors. That fine for Ballmer and et. al is a lot to pay with. That's already a budget for a lot of picks and veterans. Whilst for Kawhi paying that $700k, he can get that back again easy.
Kawhi definitely screwed the Clippers over for a long time to come. I think the total is 10 draft picks and SGA. That is basically a new franchise. At the time it seemed like doing anything to get Kawhi was the right move, but in hindsight it definitely wasn't. They never won anything and the Lakers still got a title. If only he went to the Lakers instead, they might have won a few titles and avoided this whole mess. I blame Kawhi's uncle. The Clippers has basically realized that investing so much for Kawhi was a clear mistake. I guess that the reason was also due to how he has performed before acquiring him. I didn't know that Kawhi's uncle has something to do with his decision but, yeah, everything messed up with wrong decisions all parties made. by stripping the Clippers of five first round draft picks spanning 2029 through 2033, they demonstrated to both the world and franchise owners just how seriously they take organizational trust.

The only thing that could stop Wemby is a knee or Achilles tendon injury, but so far his NBA career has been going very well. As for Tacko, there’s no point in comparing him to Wemby, since there’s a huge difference in their training. Tacko may be a big guy too, but for some reason, he performs very poorly in the paint.

Wemby growing even more in the offseason was nuts, but having a big body to defend him is a necessity in my opinion. Tacko doesn’t need to be as good as Wemby to create a problem for him and I’m certain that’s why the 76ers picked him up. He’ll probably be working on his defense and nothing else all season long in preparation.

We see other teams gate keeping these first pick rounds because they might get the next generational talent. But them, they've just waited it and this is going to be a lesson that will stick to them for how man years. Plus, the huge lumpsum penalty that they have to pay.

With all the drama on the Clippers, meanwhile, the Rockets give Amen Thompson an extension worth $208M for 5 years, with no player or team option. Well, his offense and hustle on defense keep improving, a bit dirty, lol.
Do you guys think he is worth that much or deserved it? Does he have that much potential that the Rockets gave him that extension or are they just being generous?

It’s hard to say whether someone is worth it or not in today’s NBA. The numbers being kicked around are too big for regular folks to really comprehend. It’s gotten out of control. One thing I did find interesting about this contract… If Houston trades him, he gets a 10% bonus. That’s new to me.

I would take that dude in a heartbeat on my Pacers team. Well worth the money IMO. I don't really think the Rockets could afford not to give the extension and I am positive there are quite a few teams in the league that would happily pay that guy the same amount or more to come to their team and play.

I think that young man deserves it he's been sometimes the focal point of the offense and the defense and probably one of the faces in the NBA in the coming years. It's really a surprise to have that for a player just entering year 3 but with that kind of generational talent the extension is worth it. He'll be the face of franchise as well as Sengun. Let's say they are generous but with kind of smart move generosity.

There is no stopping Wemby. He is just getting bigger and stronger each year. I never thought we would see a big man with any sort of coordination but we now have it and I love it!!! Never really been a Spurs fan but now I love them. Tacko has 0 chance of stopping this phenom.
Well we don't want to wish anyone getting hurt in the NBA not just Wemby. But it looks like the management of Spurs are really doing a good job on him. As they might be slowly building his body and not forcing him to gain that needed weight. As compare to let's say Zion, who is also a physical specimen. But his body is not reacting to the demand, and even if he lose that weight and gain more muscle, still he is getting injured and not really getting into his full potential.

Never really been a Spurs fan but now I love them. Tacko has 0 chance of stopping this phenom. Just to add to what you said, I will not even put Tacko Fall above the likes of Chet Holmgren, or even Zach Edey, or even Donovan Clingan TBH. I see them as better players than Tacko Fall. This ends the comparison between Wemby and him. Speaking of Wemby, that's why they call him "ALIEN" because we've never seen a player like him for... a very long time. I'll put him above the likes of Yao Ming, and who knows even Shaq as well, but not for now since he still needs to achieve more. One thing's for sure though. He'll be a hall of famer a few decades from now. Anyway, I did a quick search on the contract of Tacko Fall and its a " non-guaranteed one-year minimum contract. It gives him an invitation to training camp in Camden, New Jersey, and a chance to compete for a two-way roster spot or a depth". Based on that, it's a non-guarantee, and he might become a G-league player if that's the case. I really do thought that he'll be there for the rest of the regular season already. TBH, I really do wanna see Tacko Fall playing in the NBA even just for garbage time. I mean people in Boston do love him play... so I do hope that Nick Nurse give him ample time to play throughout the regular season. Nothing dirty if you will ask me. It's just him doing his things. Aside from that, he also has a 10% trade kicker, and it's my first time to see it being used by Lebron in his current contract. Anyway, he deserves it especially how he played in his first years in Houston. If there's one thing that he needs to improve, it's his 3-pt shooting because based on ESPN, he only averaged 20% from that area which is way, way below the current average of the league right now. If he improves on that category alongside his offense, he'll be an all-star in no time.

Yes, I haven't seen podcast of former or current NBA players, but for sure there will be a lot of talking about this case and specially on Leonard's future in the NBA. He seems to be a good guy, but if he is surrounded let say of his "uncle" that make all the decision for him and most likely it's beyond his control. The damage has been done already. He has to endured this for the rest of his career. Same with the Clippers, it's a big blow to their organizations and the players themselves. Who knows, maybe some of them wanted to get out of the team right now because it's going to be very hard for them in the next five to ten years.

It doesn't matter if it's me if he's worth that much or he's deserving that. Because if I am in shoes, whatever the Rockets will offer me I'll take it. After all of the news of those players thinking of getting a max, they got nothing instead. There's more to this guy and that's what the Rockets are believing him on, I agree with Logitech that he has to improve shooting and other than that remain to be physique. Despite that they've got a packed of roster and some stars, they're giving him a window with that contract and it also increases his potential trade value in the future.
