What if Detroit Pistons are no where near as good as they were last season for him to have such a season? for someone who had a miserable playoffs, I'd expect him to accept the offer and see where things go from there. I don't think he'll get an offer as good as that if he does enter free agency, and if it's good as that, surely won't be 5years, which means he'll have more proving himself to be worth the money inside the shortest period of time.
The last playoffs were really the test, and he wasn’t playing as expected. Only Cade Cunningham was consistently leading the team, and that max contract worth around $269.1 million really looks deserved. For this young big man, I think $190 million is already a very generous offer and he should seriously consider taking it. We don’t want to see another Kuminga situation here where asking for more ends up making things complicated. And probably this is one reason why Detroit management doesn't want that huge paycheck that Jalen wanted. He really disappeared in the playoff and they were lucky that teams that they face somehow got injured players that's why they were able to win some. $190 million is fair enough offer. And then shows that he is more than that money next season and play consistent. But it could have some damages already in the dug out specially that the team knows that he now wanted to get out. So relationship might have a strain before the start of the season.

That one sure is one of the reasons, look at the numbers. https://www.landofbasketball.com/nba_players_playoff_series/by_year_full/jalen_duren.htmAnd not everything can be seen in the stats, even the impact wasn't big. $190 million is fair enough offer. And then shows that he is more than that money next season and play consistent. But it could have some damages already in the dug out specially that the team knows that he now wanted to get out. He should take that deal, try to improve, and once it expires, demand a higher contract if he has already proven himself. If he keeps pushing the management too much right now, he might end up being traded or signing with another team for an even lower contract.

The pistons are generous enough to give him such a big offer, but still he wanted more, no teams will match or pay bigger of a price like that to a player who is no good in the playoffs proving himself first is a bigger thing for him, try to negotiate if he really thinks he add better impact, why not agree to a 2 year or offer the team a 2 year deal only, then if he really is a big impact for sure the pistons will not waste moment to extend or resign him with a bigger deal, he is not in a position to ask for a bigger salary.

So there are still a lot of uncertainties, you just don't know, maybe next season his games goes down or worst, got injured and can't play. And so with that, his value might go down and they can't get even that initial offer of the Pistons to him.
He is definitely gambling with that decision, because one bad season or a serious injury and that $190M offer could disappear very quickly. And it looks like he didn't learn from the previous experience of Dennis Schroder as he is betting on himself. If he really wants $200M, that’s only around $10M more than the reported offer. At that point, maybe taking a small discount for guaranteed long-term money is the safer move instead of risking everything just to squeeze out a little more.
And honestly, I don’t think Duren is at the level of someone like Embiid where teams would automatically throw that kind of money at him no matter what. He still has things to prove, especially in the playoffs, so asking for that much is already a pretty aggressive bet on himself.
More likely he is greedy or the one representing him in negotiations. $10 million could be a good bargaining chip for him to stay with the Pistons and if everything works out then maybe he can ask for a bigger contract later. Again, they should have studied the latest case on Kuminga. Still very athletic player but when he declines his contract with the Warriors, no big money was offered to him.

Detroit Pistons offer of $190 million for five years is quite decent but Jalen Duren want $200 million instead. Right now its not clear that whether negotiations are still going on or not. There are cases where players have turned down a good offer in search of bigger one but they failed to find it. In 2021, Dennis Schröder turned down on offer of $84 million from Lakers just to find a bigger one but ended up signing a deal of $5.9 million for one year with Celtics.

Even if there will be several teams interested to him if that's just me, I'll take the money and sip some coffee. But anyway, good luck if he's ever going to find the contract he likes. Stats wise, he knows his worth but man money is money.
Yes, money is money, but he also has to be careful not to get too greedy because we’ve seen this happen to some players already. They ask for more, turn down a good offer, then later end up getting something close to a minimum-type contract. Even if he is probably at his peak value right now, he still shouldn’t be too overconfident. The NBA is a business, and teams will not risk that much money if they don’t believe a player really has that kind of value. Yeah, he shouldn't be. We've seen players who were at their peak, asked for more but got lesser. I hope that he won't have to learn it the harder way. There have been those failed contracts that should have been at max. Yes, he's young but there's other better deserving than him. And with the Pistons having those talents that could play with him, they've given him that spot already but let's see how it will end.

That's already huge actually and not all players have opportunity to get such huge contract. He should be thankful on the standing offer he gets from Pistons, but it seems that he became so greedy and tried everything to get those raise that he wants. Because it can possibly creates lots of issues in their team, if Duren continue to struggle just like the same what happen to him in playoffs. If he won't sign that deal. Maybe we might see another player listed to waste another good opportunity, but end up on miserable situation. But well good luck to him and let see if he could able to get what he want or Piston will give up on him then decide not to sign him.

Well, it might be a good ending or not for him. So good luck with that. We see the super stars who really performed well in their rookie days up to the midst of their career. And they're just taking offers left and right for as long as it's favorable to them until they can demand. maybe the agent is the one pushing for that contract? what do you think guys?
Maybe, we don't know. But you're right that the offer was decent from the team.

Just 5 weeks to go until we get our first look at the new Philadelphia 76ers complete with LeBron James. I’m not sure what to expect yet, but I am ready to judge the entire experiment by their first performance. Lol. I wish I was kidding, but you can expect every analyst to be watching and judging heavily.

Lets thanks LeBron James because NBA analyst will still have a job, they still have a guy at 41 to be their topic, they are getting famous because of LeBron James, we would not know this people if they will not scrutinized LeBron every now and then, imagine you are throwing stones to LeBron for 20+ years that's a hell of a job, and getting paid lol. But i think the sixers will need to adjust in their first game since there are two starts in the first five that will need to control their being ball dominant, and its James task to control those ball and make sure they are getting to the right spot, things will go a lot different now that James is the floor general.

As long as LeBron James joins a new team, people will always expect that team to improve. The hype is normal, but how they actually play together is what really matters because chemistry is never guaranteed. We also have to remember that LeBron is no longer in his prime, so we shouldn't expect too much from him. Embiid is still the leader of that team no matter what.

As long as LeBron James joins a new team, people will always expect that team to improve. The hype is normal, but how they actually play together is what really matters because chemistry is never guaranteed. Chemistry is always very important because even with the Lakers, we thought they would become a much stronger team when Luka joined, but it turned out that the Lakers with Davis were still stronger. So we really don't know until we see them actually play together. The stats won't lie, and that's what we should measure instead of just relying on hype. That's more realistic. We also have to remember that LeBron is no longer in his prime, so we shouldn't expect too much from him. Embiid is still the leader of that team no matter what.
What we're hyped about now is that LeBron could make this team better, and it's not only him, they also have Brown, so it's really possible. For now, let's just wait and see. Once the season starts, that's when we can compare the expectation with the reality.

But if you have to look at Lebron's history of playing with other good basketball players, he seems to have a rapport with them. Like in the Heat, with DWade and then in the Cavs with Kyrie and aD with the Lakers. We also have to remember that LeBron is no longer in his prime, so we shouldn't expect too much from him. He might not be longer in his prime, but he still has a career average of above 25 ppg. I haven't seen anyone who is no longer in their prime playing 20+ seasons with that kind of average.

We cannot deny that LeBron can still compete at a high level, but I think our expectation from him is not just to put up those kinds of averages because we know that's almost normal for him. Since he's one of the greatest, what we really want to see is him win another championship. I think that's also what he's aiming for, which is probably one reason he joined forces with a strong team. But the question is, can the Sixers give him that championship, or can LeBron be the one to help give it to the team?

The same goes for the others, but with Embiid in the team, LeBron’s workload will be reduced and he’ll be able to contribute more effectively. If Embiid is playing, he’ll always be the team’s number one. It all comes down to how well Jaylen Brown and LeBron can adapt to each other. LeBron has already been in the mindset for the last two years that scoring 10 points per game is enough. He just wants to focus on winning. If Jaylen Brown can be just a touch more active than Tobias Harris and Paul George, he’ll perfectly meet the Sixers’ needs.

When a team has a lot of star players, the biggest possible problem that can stop them from succeeding is chemistry. Honestly, I haven't seen many fully loaded teams become champions lately. The last one I can really remember was Durant with the Warriors, after that we haven't seen another superteam that dominant and consistent. So I understand why expectations are high, especially with LeBron there, but having big names alone doesn't guarantee a championship.

So I understand why expectations are high, especially with LeBron there, but having big names alone doesn't guarantee a championship.Speaking of that "Warriors dynasty", yes I do agree that it was really stacked with all-star players, but you know what made them a better team against others during that time? They have a lot of good role players back then. They have the likes of Iguodala, Livingston, West, McGee, McCaw, and Looney. Correct me, but their 2nd 5 is a lot better than other teams back then, and that's what made them a dynasty team back then. We are now in an era where loading a lot of star players isn't an automatic title anymore. We are in an era where role players, and bench matter way more than the all-star players. The best example of this is when the Nuggets won. They have Jokic and Murray back then, but they have role players like Gordon, MPJ, Braun, KCP, Brown, Watson. In short, the team is filled with good role players, and that's the era that we have right now. Looking at the roster of Philly, TBH they have a good bench players as well. They have Simons, KCP, Wade, Bona, Hukporti, and I know that this isn't the best bench right now, but let's just see how they'll perform when the regular season starts. Overall, stacking all-star players isn't a guaranteed title anymore. 2 -3 all-star players plus stacked role and bench players matters more right now.

They were not a second they were sometimes better than the first five most of the time they are the one who is chasing the lead and the 1st five is the one who comes back when the margin is already close, iggy livingston is a starter player they were not just a second unit, they were top picks and they are the one who makes the difference in every finals and playoffs. I think the sixers are fine they will have problem if embiid goes down which i wish will not happen to the guy, he has been through a lot just lord give the guy a chance to crack in the title, but lets see how healthy he is in this coming season good luck.
