The NBA has stated they will be paying close attention and calling more offensive fouls for pushing off this year. Basically, OKC is going to fall off and SGA is going to see a drop in numbers like never before if this turns out to be true. Thank god. The NBA is starting to turn into a league of foul baiting. Still can’t believe SGA got an MVP.

Otherwise, SGA will really play tough and not look for that call and flop. I guess it's time for the NBA to adjust as they have heard a lot of flack on SGA and his flopping.

As for the expansion team, I guess it's time for the NBA to have a new team in the league. They will be more competitive and of course, another chance for some players to join and maybe still have that one ticket to play again.

For Jokic, yes, I do believed that he will still remain a Nugget until he retires.
If the expansion team happens they would help team balance and will be more competitive but it might make fans less support as there is going to limit players to be in a single team like stacking, SGA flopping might be over, they are moving to Brunson i think, but the fans did not like this kind of play, and fans might target him next, Brunson is a natural player and even without putting a little acting he will still be a superstar but if he ends up like SGA people will notice him and hate him next.
Jokic will sign again with the nuggets just make sure he is happy and things will go well.

Like what they did to James Harden when he was foul-baiting back when he's still in Houston, the NBA did something for those ‘Off-Arm Push Offs’ which SGA has been doing for quite some time already, and it's not only him, but there are many who are doing it as well. It's just that he's been the one doing it numerous times.

I don't see the OKC falling off though just because of this one. OKC has the players who has the talent and the skills to compete to the highest stage. It's not just that they're relying too much on that push-offs or what. We can all agree that they have all-star players who can step up in the biggest stage, right? What I will say though is that, this will affect them especially now that San Antonio is catching onto them and even defeated them last playoffs.

As for the foul-baiting, we know that it's only a matter of time before the league will do something, and they've done it. As for SGA getting that MVP, he deserves it because he carried his team to the top seed. I know many hate the player because of how he plays, but let's not forget that the voters based their vote on the overall performance of the player and it's impact on the team, and not because of their emotion or them hating the player.

I think an expansion team (actually 2 because Seattle is coming soon) will only be bad for the balance of the NBA. You already have a league of aging superstars that are teaming up. The NBA has a real possibility they could have lots of teams without a star player. I don’t think that is good for the product.

I don't see it being bad for the NBA, we have seen expansion teams in the league already. Yeah, maybe in the beginning, but if they found great players, even aging superstars it could still be a plus for the league.

And those cities for sure have fans that are going to support, like Seattle used to have a good team before. So fans are wanting to be great again and very happy to see their city being represented again.

It should be more competitive, otherwise, the NBA shouldn't put any expansion team. Although it might take time for expansion team to be competitive, but if they have a good coach and then staff and players to boot that has the experience already, then everything will be smooth and seamless.

I like that Las Vegas will have a NBA team, I mean there are a lot of gambling and casinos in that place. So it will be a big boost for their local economy if they will have a great NBA team. We can't argue about SGA, it has been shown that he did a lot of flop in the last season and it's good that the referee didn't call that much specially in their series against the Spurs and most likely one reason they've lost because he can't go to the free throw line as much as he did before.

If there will be a team in Vegas im pretty sure that LBJ will be one of the investors as he planned before to create one and it must be in Vegas.

As for the NBA call, they should clean up the mess and make the rulling as for the game is getting softer now. they should go even 50% of D as 90s. Stop calling superstar call and give a balance to all players.

Its good to know that they will make an adjustment. just like Harden before, in a season he was one of the players who gets fouled the most if not the number 1.
And its understandable as people are not really loving what SGA has been showing, he is good at fishing fouls, you touch his hair you are fouled its not the game we want to see, NBA is supposed to be physical.
I liked how NBA handled that situation with Harden. Things were getting out of control at that time. NBA had a good rule change and things were much better. Hopefully it will be now too. Also, the problem was not only SGA was doing it but the whole OKC team. That is really disgraceful in my opinion. And I think the real problem is that, whilst trying to draw fouls, players resort to despicable moves without even thinking about scoring normally. Just acting weak, act and lie. And, of course, they’re flopping as well. I actually think SGA is a very good player. If he played properly and toughly without resorting to this ‘foul baiting’, he’d be a superstar everyone loved. But he likes to play soft and deceive people. I’d be delighted if the NBA could put a stop to this with the new rules.

If i have to chose between harden and SGA i'll chose harden over him because harden making contact is way better, SGA fall and facial expression is like he has been kick or punch to the face, while harden will coral his arm inside or under the arm which is a bit okay, SGA even fall with no one ever near him and the ref which is the worse called a foul and even technical the player, after seeing the replay and forget that the replay exist.
They just keep the call away from SGA because the league and the fans called for it, but if that is not happen they will continue the officiating favoring SGA.

Otherwise, SGA will really play tough and not look for that call and flop. I guess it's time for the NBA to adjust as they have heard a lot of flack on SGA and his flopping.

I think they will have to put a stop on the flopping of SGA as it's not good for the NBA. And it's not just SGA is doing it, there could be a lot of players already but SGA it's really obvious and the referee looks biased.

The bad thing is that SGA flopped so much that it can spell winning or losing a game. So I expect that the referee are now train to spot flop by SGA and not call it so that SA knows that it's not going to work now as the rules have change and foul baiting is not the norm.

Uh oh… Not good for our North Korean ties… Dennis Rodman is supposedly no longer in North Korea’s good graces after he “got drunk and defecated” on a hotel floor during his last visit. I can only imagine how scary of a scene that must have been for whoever was with him at the time.

I think this was a long time ago, in 2014, and his last visit was in 2017, but Kim didn't meet him.

So I expect that the referee are now train to spot flop by SGA and not call it so that SA knows that it's not going to work now as the rules have change and foul baiting is not the norm.
He's so good at it that they have to nerf him for that.  Grin

They’re also talking about adding a team in Seattle. It won’t change the number of games played by the teams. I was around before the Toronto Raptors were added… They’ll rearrange the schedule and keep the 82 games and they’ll have an expansion draft where teams can only protect so many of their players.
That's nostalgic and having Seattle back is going to be amazing and I am sure that there are still a lot of fans out there waiting for this addition.

If NBA referees really start paying less attention to flopping, whether it's by SGA or any other player who abuses this tactic, it will only benefit the league. In my opinion, the NBA used to be more enjoyable to watch when players actually fought for the ball, weren't so soft, and didn't try to show off their acting skills on every play.
That's the problem. They implement anti flopping rules but they aren't implementing them the way we are expecting them to be. What's even worse is, they seem to have favoritism. There are uncalled obvious fouls while there are fouls that are too soft that shouldn't even be called, but because of flopping, a foul is given. I understand that they are not perfect and make mistakes, but sometimes we can't deny the favoritism. What SGA is doing should be put to a stop. He is a good player, no question about that, but at the same time, he is also one of the reasons viewers are displeased. He is abusing the loophole. He won't stop doing it if the league won't put a stop to it.

The legal franchise for the Las Vegas as rumored said to be around $12B to $13B for it to be approved. By next season, we might see that addition to the league. That is interesting as we get more teams and more players will be in need for their service. The NBA has already got those personalities who are likely to get the franchise for the newest additional team including the family of Walmart.

If this really happens what will be the final number of teams in the NBA? 31?
It will be 32 because as said, there will be also the Seattle. It's going to be two additions in the rumors and I think that they're already finalizing it. As early as 2027, we'll see the two additions.

Will the owners buy an existing team and move it to Las Vegas or will the NBA create completely new expansion team? If it’s an expansion team, how will they decide which players can join the new team and will the NBA need to change the current schedule or number of games? I’m also curious whether adding another team could affect the balance between the Eastern and Western Conferences.
Rights will come from the NBA and anyone can bid into it but not those who have already owned a team. It's specific to Vegas and Seattle. I'm not sure yet how they're going to rule for the players but I think, there's plenty of it and there will be more possible chances that from other leagues can be signed directly. As for the balance of east and west, I'm not sure as well because these two are from West.

This is why many people says that 1900s and early 2000s era is more fun to watch, because of its physicality and pure battle style of play.

But everything has change, since NBA made lots of changes and that's affect the physicality of the game. This is reason why often people think current era is soft and boring to watch.

If they could just bring back the intensity of the game way back then and reduce flopping. Maybe many people would love to watch each game played by each teams.

More fun to watch but also much shorter careers.  When you understand the Pistons had "Jordan Rules" and were literally punishing the guy for taking shots, it makes what he was able to accomplish that much more amazing.

I like that they don't let the guys beat each other up like in the Shaq period.  They just need to be fair and not let offensive players take advantage.  It sounds like the NBA is not only aware of the problem but is trying to address it, so we'll see how things go for SGA this season.

I don't know if somebody already saw this one, or this still gains interest from anybody here, but the Pistons already removed the "No Weight Clause" from Jalen Duren's contract. The amount of money is still the same though. $200M for 5 years. Will this be enough for him to sign that contract?

Now Duren has 24 hours to either sign that contract, or he'll take the 1-year $9.6M qualifying offer. Whatever happens, this will have a huge impact on the team's future, and on Duren's future as well. If he wants to win a title, staying on Detroit would be his best option because no title-contending team seems to be interested on him especially with a "traditional" big like him. If he wants money though, he would still get the same amount because the only max that other teams could give to him is around 4-years and around $189M deal so basically it's the same.

TBH, I'm still surprised why Duren still hasn't signed that contract. I mean it's already guaranteed, so if he gets injured (hope it will not happen), he will still be paid. I don't want to see another "Nerlens Noel" type of scenario yet again.

Giannis already talking about leaving Miami…

“I’ve never been apart of something like this. I want to leave my mark. I want to know when this chapter is over, if I’m only here for a year, two or whatever it’s going to be I want to leave my mark.”

He has a player option at the end of this season… Maybe he’s trying to win a championship and set up a massive payday?

Looks like he has just developed a huge sense of urgency or gradually becoming impatient when it comes to winning a championship. Especially now that there is an added pressure in Miami as the fans are expecting him to lead the franchise to another championship, BUT the Eastern rivals are becoming more and more stronger this season.
If everything don't workout for the heat this season (which is more likely), I bet he's gonna decline the option, and yes he's trying to win a championship and set up a massive deal before his athleticism declines.

His camp and agents are doing a terrible job, he's literally going to be on the losing end, players come and go eventually but franchise or the business would remain, and the fact that he's all that mighty and in charge is pretty funny, I expected a more humble approach from him after his performance in the playoffs.

If he's solely doing this because he wants out of the Pistons it would be fair and understandable, but because he just basically wants more than $200m is wild! Maybe Lakers could have considered him had they not got their missing piece with Walker Kessler, aside them I don't see any other title contenders that were having a center-trouble.
