He also made an odd comment that he doesn’t have HIV or aids. I’m not sure where that came from, but it was interesting enough to post.

Even if it's true, I think he would still be allowed to play.[if the rules are the same]
A famous example is Magic Johnson.

I don’t think that’s a good example. I’m old enough to remember when Magic was playing in the NBA with HIV. It was a big deal and the players stopped wanting to play on the court with him. It led to his early retirement. I don’t think the NBA would let an HIV positive player play a single minute in the league today.

Hey fellow NBA fans, I was wondering if you guys have thought about the current odds for the Washington Wizards to make the playoffs this season?
Because for me +300 (general consensus) looks like a steal right now.

I mean, they have Trae Young, Anthony Davis, Khris Middleton, Alex Sarr, AJ Dybantsa, and it looks like Kyshawn George who has been very consistent and efficient this preseason. Even if Davis gets hurt most of the time (like he always do), I think they are still considered a playoff contender in the East.

Draftkings have them currently at +310
BetMGM +280
Fanduel +275
Popular crypto sportsbook also have them at +290 to +320.

I can only see two reasons they won't make the playoffs this season. 1 is defense and 2 health issues. What do ya'll think?

East has a lot of playoffs contender team this season like Pacers that was on the bottom rank before but now they manage to already rebuild when Halibuston come back.

Wizard is a decent team if AD will manage to be stay healthy the whole season since he has Trae Young as his duo but I don’t see this roster as playoffs team tbh.

That odds reflects how the bookie being confident that AD will not gonna play long term.

That's hard to tell, but the odds are really great. It's just that I'm not optimistic unless a miracle happens and Davis becomes healthy. AD needs to be healthy first for me to be able to say the risk is worth it. If we are just talking about playoff contenders, the Pistons, Cavs, Heat, Knicks, Celtics, and 76ers, these 6 teams have the best chance of making it into the playoffs, at least for me. That is 6 teams already. What about the Raptors, Magic, and Hornets? These 3 are good teams as well.

If you believe so, take it. Their current lineup is really good on paper, so if I were you I would take it. I would also do the same if I'm a fan of NBA futures betting, but taking that bet means I would have to wait for months before it's settled, but we have different styles, do what you like but I agree with your view that it's a steal.

Why not? I think in this current season, there are a lot of teams that might be considered as a underdog, like Wizards here. And it's easy pick as it is just for a playoff spot. Of course, it all depends on the health of AD here, but they have Ice cold Trae Young which could still be in his prime.

So for me, it's worth some money to throw on the Wizards to make the playoff for this year. And even if they can't, still though, as there are money on that team right now. Specilly if we see the old version of Trae Young bringing the team on his shoulder.

Kristaps Porzingis has made a statement about his absence from the Golden State Warriors training facility. He said he is with the best doctors and receiving medical care.
His health issue is probably related to his POTS, and since he mentioned consulting doctors, it's clear that he's dealing with a medical condition, but I think POTS is the closest possible explanation for now, although it has not been confirmed.

NBC Sports
Quote
Previously, Porziņģis has been diagnosed with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, or POTS. This is a condition where a person’s heart rate races for a minute or more after standing up from sitting or lying down (as part of the disorder, more blood stays in your lower body even after a person stands, causing the heart rate to race as it tries to get blood flowing again). It’s unclear whether Porziņģis’ current health issue is related to this or is something else.

He also made an odd comment that he doesn’t have HIV or aids. I’m not sure where that came from, but it was interesting enough to post.

Even if it's true, I think he would still be allowed to play.[if the rules are the same]
A famous example is Magic Johnson.

Ah that syndrome is the reason some of the basketball players are cycling between the playing time, isn't it? I was wondering why they were cycling on the side of the court. It was because since they are super tall, the blood circulation can be different for them, cycling makes their blood flow better and not blood accumulating on the lower body, as far as I remember. Porzingis's case must be very serious then. I really like his play-style. He is very tall but has very good ball handling. Can do almost everything on court, 3pts or inside scoring. I wish he will be ok and contribute more.

And now it looks like we are going to see the regular season already as the pre-season games has unwind. The start of the regular season games is in this coming October 20. And it will be covered by NBC/Peacock.

Notable games are the 76ers vs Knicks at 7:00 pm EST.

For those of us who are in a different timezone (for sure many of us), maybe we will have to adjust so that we can watch the game live and bet on it.

I don’t think that’s a good example. I’m old enough to remember when Magic was playing in the NBA with HIV. It was a big deal and the players stopped wanting to play on the court with him. It led to his early retirement. I don’t think the NBA would let an HIV positive player play a single minute in the league today.

And during that time, our understanding of AIDS is still in it's infancy. Magic retired, then comeback but there are a lot of buzz around it as players doesn't want to interact with him because they don't want to contacted AIDS that time. But that is a major concern for any league of today, not just with the NBA.

So I doubt that they will just allow him to play even if he is positive with AIDS. But not sure what this come up to light. Maybe this is a rumor, but we all know that if someone has started this, it could be half-meant.

This is a good read and can somehow make you a bit angry if you are rooting for another team or a player.
https://www.nba.com/news/2026-27-nba-gm-survey

Predictions:
Quote
Which team will win the 2027 NBA Finals?
1. San Antonio Spurs – 50%
2. Oklahoma City Thunder – 43%
Where are the Knicks? Next to them. Maybe. In some manner, that is disrespectful to the NBA Champions. Well, they are just predictions.

Quote
Who will win the 2026-27 Kia MVP?

1. Victor Wembanyama, San Antonio – 77%
2. Nikola Jokić, Denver – 10%
3. Anthony Edwards, Minnesota – 7%
What?!! By that far? Truly, Wemby is too hyped right now.

Anyway, there's more on that link. Some of them we disagree with, while others we agree with. Still, it will be their health that can change the course of the whole standings and MVP ladder. So, they need to play hard while keeping themselves safe from injuries.

I didn't read the link to be honest. But at first glance, with what Wemby shown last season, although the Spurs is a bit slow at the start, but before the regular season ends and with the way they defeated defending champion OKC there was a lot of hype on him.

But we can't call it hype anymore as he brought that Spurs to the finals. But it boils down to experience and so they've lost. However, that could really boost them big time this season as everyone has improved a lot, specially Dylan Harper.

I would say because of how the spurs team now are setup or how they were built, they got a young superstar who can match other best player and he is just getting started or at a rookie level, that is why they put that percentage , they are able beat the OKC thunder, the only problem they have last year was experience, there were overwhelm by the knicks hustle and experience in the court which they have but did not perform at what they expected for, but this year they are still the contender but there is a blockage in the road if they are able to get through wemby is the new Best player player in the planet.

That's why I said if the rules haven't changed, but definitely they've changed as that was a long time ago. But look at him now, already a billionaire and owns a lot of sports teams, so until now he's still living with HIV and has become successful in life.

This is a good read and can somehow make you a bit angry if you are rooting for another team or a player.
https://www.nba.com/news/2026-27-nba-gm-survey

Predictions:
Quote
Which team will win the 2027 NBA Finals?
1. San Antonio Spurs – 50%
2. Oklahoma City Thunder – 43%
Where are the Knicks? Next to them. Maybe. In some manner, that is disrespectful to the NBA Champions. Well, they are just predictions.

Quote
Who will win the 2026-27 Kia MVP?

1. Victor Wembanyama, San Antonio – 77%
2. Nikola Jokić, Denver – 10%
3. Anthony Edwards, Minnesota – 7%
What?!! By that far? Truly, Wemby is too hyped right now.

Anyway, there's more on that link. Some of them we disagree with, while others we agree with. Still, it will be their health that can change the course of the whole standings and MVP ladder. So, they need to play hard while keeping themselves safe from injuries. [/size]

Many are still hyped with Spurs vs OKC match up, maybe this is the reason why they think this will be their season again.

Unfortunately Knicks really made terrible decisions recently. Presumably this is the reason why they erase Knicks on the list.

But for MVP? Jokic got 7% probabilities? They must be crazy. It seems that NBA is so desperate to hype Wemby.

If there's no favoritism, Jokic truly deserves more to win that award next season.

Anyways, lets just see their performance next season. Because who knows there are other stars will climb at the top. Like SGA again or even Giannis.

Don't overreach, it's not the NBA's opinion but it's the fans' opinion, they just published it there.

Hey fellow NBA fans, I was wondering if you guys have thought about the current odds for the Washington Wizards to make the playoffs this season?
---

East has a lot of playoffs contender team this season like Pacers that was on the bottom rank before but now they manage to already rebuild when Halibuston come back.

Wizard is a decent team if AD will manage to be stay healthy the whole season since he has Trae Young as his duo but I don’t see this roster as playoffs team tbh.

That odds reflects how the bookie being confident that AD will not gonna play long term.
And that's the big IF to the Wizards right now that's why many don't see them as somebody that's a playoff contender, and for me, they're a play-in contender at best, but a lottery team if their key players like Young and/or Davis are injured for the majority of the season.

TBH, nobody looks at them right now as somebody that could surprise the East because they haven't prove anything yet. Prove something then the respect of the fans will come, and right now, there hasn't. You've said it already that there are many East teams out there that are better than them. The Knicks, Cavaliers, Pacers, Raptors, Sixers, Celtics, Heat, and the Pistons. Heck, I might've accidentally predicted the potential top 8 teams on the East already. Cheesy

Wizards are a decent team, and a bottom team if their star players are healthy. Well, nothing wrong with it because... because they've been for a long time. No one cares about them anymore aside from their fans maybe. I guess I'll take this year as a developing year for Dybantsa and to develop Alex Sarr even more as well as their other core players.

this team has been tanking for years until now they don't have a decent line-up still a long run for them, they need to get past other players but those teams are going to crush them easily, they seem like to trade their players whenever they want, like a farm team, time of gilbert is when i thought they have a chance, but lebrom keeps putting them down in the playoffs, maybe they needed another 2-3 years before they become a contender, or still be their just tanking.

I think Jokic’s NBA MVP days are behind him. He benefitted a lot from having the best team in the NBA around him but that is no more. Their dynasty fell apart instantly and he isn’t getting any younger. At his size, the end of his career probably will come quickly and be ugly. But who knows, I could be wrong. Wemby is clearly a better MVP candidate at this point.

We might see some good numbers though for Jokic this season. He might be even close to make another triple double and still could be a candidate for MVP. But there could be a lot with Wemby and then SGA still at the top.

And who knows, maybe LBJ or Jalen Brown since they are in a new team, might also put MVP caliber numbers. So it might be very close unless Wemby's numbers are out of this world and could be a unanimous MVP.

Give Wemby the MVP. It’s over already.

LeBron got himself a nice alley oop dunk today as well. Showing he’s still trying to beat father time.
