Oh no!!!
Right after Ben Simmons appears to be making a legitimate NBA comeback… He has now torn his Achilles tendon and will be out for the season. That is what they’re suspecting after today’s practice. Horrible news. He’s definitely wishing he had stayed retired now.
That's really the type of story only sports would write. Guy becoming a joke, finally getting away from basketball and clearing his mind, trying to come back and actually looking kinda solid just to get a season ending injury in the preseason. I mean how unlucky can this be? Honestly, I didn't expect him to have any kind of impact but you don't wanna see somebody going down like that, especially since he just found hos love for the game back (kinda). Obviously he is not coming back cause he needs the money or anything, he is set for life. But yeah, that's how it goes sometimes. I think we saw 3 players going down with the same injury during preseason. Maybe it's time to bring back hightops shoes. Hopefully, Ben is set for life or at least has the generational wealth under him so that he won't be poor just like some of the players that we have. Although I'm not aware of him gambling or going to Vegas as some old school NBA players with their posse and squandering lots of money in days. As for the hightops, I don't know if it can help, although it could lessen to some extend this kind of injuries as I'm not aware around 80's-90's about the prevalent cases of NBA players getting achilles injuries as almost all of them have worn hightops shoes, Converse, Adidas and later Nike and Jordan's (although some of the models like 3's and 4's are lowtop). I think he is an intelligent person so he may have acquire assets and business investment so that he will have a secured future even without playing, but he could have earn more in his career if he had not have issues emotionally and with injuries, I think he also have still got something to offer for his basketball career he maybe just need a person to turn that switch on, to make everything he have dream come back into his senses, why he had not reach out to the likes of lebron james and others so that he will be guided.

Well, it's worth noting that not all NBA players are financially savvy. There have been several cases of players squandering millions of dollars in just a few years and ending up in financial trouble. So, in Simmons' case, I wouldn't be so sure he's set for life.
If he lives frugally, just like a regular employee, he is set for life. Even after taxes, agent fees, and other expenses, his take-home pay is still a lot of money. A regular employee couldn't even earn that much in their entire lifetime, yet they still manage to survive. But if he lives lavishly, then that amount might not be enough, considering he's only 30 years old. However, if he manages his money well, he really could be set for life, with enough to provide for his future children and even his grandchildren. How about these shoes?
That is hella funny. Lol. Kidding aside, maybe the shoe design is partly to blame, but it's definitely not the only factor.

Dalton Knecht was a pretty huge bust. They thought he’d come in and fill a role but he never did anything to disappoint. They tried to toss him in every trade and even tried giving him away. In the end, they had to cut him. I’m not sure he’ll get another shot in the league. He was great in college but it didn’t translate. I agree, I thought that he'll make his career with the Lakers but it seems the team has got a lot of stars that they are not willing to let go but him. I'm still looking forward to a team that will give him some time so that he can play as he can be. If not, there are a lot of other local leagues that they can go if no team is going to take him. There's CBS, GBL, KBL, B League and others. But I think they're getting better pay if a CBS team offers them to play to.

I think he is just inconsistent but the guy could really deliver, I have seen many of his highlights and his outside shots were lethal. okay given that he does not give his best, but choosing Bronny over him, that's insane. now this tells us there are really politics in the NBA. The Lakers didn't want to piss off his daddy.

Tearing your Achilles the same day your comeback documentary drops is the worst luck ever…
Last weekend with no NBA basketball is behind us. Time to fire up those Peacock subscriptions and get ready for some basketball! I’ll be watching that 76ers game for sure.
That is a very devastating situation anyone can find themselves, especially being out for quite sometime, but I expect him to pick up himself, and he’ll definitely come back stronger. Yay! The new season is here with us again, and I can’t wait to watch my team San Antonio Spurs in the dog out against Oklahoma City Thunders, it promises to a very interesting game, considering the quality of the teams involved, oh how I have missed watching Wemby.

Bronny can sell but Dalton can't, he sell more jersey so in business side he is the one who they should retain, also because of his dad of course, Dalton can score but you are correct he already have so many chances to prove that he can be a vital piece like AR, but the chance that they given to him did not pays off, he is even consider a trade package sadly the trade did not push through, he should practice more and be consistent, maybe he still have a chance, or if some teams picks him up, he should be ready and never back out of the challenge.

Even in this forum, in this topic he was mentioned so many times. I remember even 5 years ago. And there were always people who said he wasn't that much of an important player. As a Nba draft no. 1 and rookie of the year he was always getting a lot of attention and I think because of three point shooting, he was always drawing even more attention. I also find it interesting that he was australian but with an american father. Australia seems like a very interesting place for basketball. They had good teams for national team competitions, always better than I expected. I am actually very sad he got this important of an injury. I like this kind of players who have an interesting story and little bit of drama. I see news that he was about to be made team captain in Kings. And it is hard for them to fill his void, they say. But I don't think he was that much of an important piece.

The wait is finally over because first game of the new season will be played today between Detroit Pistons and Boston Celtics. Detroit Pistons are starting new season with healthy roster, none of their player is injured but four of their players are on 'official injury report' due to different reasons. I am interested in seeing how Knicks will perform in regular season after playing horrible basketball in the preseason. Knicks ended their preseason by winning game against Raptors and now the fans are waiting to see their regular season games.

I saw a photo of the New York Knicks arena and they messed up and instead of printing shirts that said 2025-2026 NBA champions, it says 2026-2027... What a wild season opening game, Paul George getting most points for Celtics player debut, 18-0 run for Detroit Pistons with the most contributions of Duncan Robinson with most of his field goals on outside and ft. The Celtics fumble that lead and kudos to the Pistons defense, they really got that.
I think Paul George guarding Cade isn't suitable, more like Jordan Walsh was more capable or Scheierman or White to do that job, PG just can't contain Cade on that. Well, I think Tatum wasn't really that confident on that game, I guess he don't need to be a b*tch that Brown wasn't there anymore to carry it. Well, speaking of Brown, who you got for Knicks vs Sixers? The defending champs are the favorites and I think the Sixers got a shot at it, the odds are too good for them.

I was very surprised to see Paul George be the leading scorer. Not a good sign for the Celtics. Tatum only got 13 points to George’s 38… That 21 point run in the fourth was nuts. Total collapse by the Celtics. I’m not sure what to make of it, but while this was a good outing to show PG can still play, losing like that was just plain ugly.

Not a good start by Boston, they lost their first match and we can already see some problems. Tatum was just really bad and i think he was the main reason why Boston lost,he took too many shots and missed so many and i was thinking he was gonna do really good. On the other hand really surprised at Paul George to score 38 points and i cannot remember the last time he scored that much. That run by Detroit was crazy and that decided the whole match.

Watching the ring celebration for the Knicks now. I’m not sure what to expect from this game. I’m not sure the Knicks are going to be ready to play after celebrating all summer and having their families all at the game for the celebration. On the flip side the 76ers have never played a real game together. Makes me think we’re going to see a blowout, but I’m not sure which side is going to be on top.

Not having my moneyline on them tbh so I get the spread for the 76ers, but I think the chemistry they have was more the key factor to win this game, the 76ers hasn't have that yet and probably will grasp when the game matters most. I mean most on their starting lineup are dominant players, I can only see Edgecombe as not, while the others has the veterans presence. I'm tuning in though.

Knicks has slight advantage, although there are still minutes in the clock before the end of the second quarter, it looks like the Sixers will have to work their chemistry in the regular season games. And so with that, the line is moving towards Knicks, now at 1.35 and the Sixers 3.30. Of course, there's a lot of time in the clock and there could be some of us who want to bet live and so this is a perfect time specially if you go with the underdog Sixers here. Might be tough for them, but the risk might be worth if they make a huge comeback in the second half.

Jaylen Brown was going for that LeBron/Wade photo. I saw this on tv and you could tell he went out of his way for the picture. LeBron even looked a little confused for a second. Hilarious that everyone noticed and are posting comparisons on social media already. The team looks a little rough but they’re definitely getting their moments.

Finally. That was a long wait. Pistons won their first game against the Celtics. 76ers are about to win against the Knicks. (at the time of writing) Spurs versus Thunder - Live! Hmm. It looks like LeBron is making a good team out of a roster that was organized by the 76ers. The assist numbers are good for every first-five player on the team. LeBron has 7, J. Brown has 6, Embiid has 6, and Maxey has 5. It's a good sign for the 76ers. A few turnovers and more of a defense-oriented team, too. I hope they can keep that up.

Reggie and Jamal was laughing at this as they remembered the Dwade to LeBron iconic photo, lol. Well, that was a good win for the Sixers though, as they spoil the Knick's ring night. Could this really be a message that this super stacked team could actually work? Some veteran players around he league doubted them as it really needs a lot of sacrifices for them to work. Looking at how they played their first game of the season, looks like they are indeed willing to make sacrifices. Knicks fans are salty on LeBron. They just poked the bear, lol.
