Before I tried to explain to everyone, now I just keep it to some close friends that understand the meaning of bitcoin, my father is very smart about this too.

I used to keep bringing it up as well to my family and friends

but after awhile I realized that there was no point since they weren't intrested in it

I'm okay with that, I just let them be

I don't know anyone else outside of this forum that's interested in crypto. I have brought it up in conversation once or twice with people but they aren't interested so I don't bother anymore.

I talk frequently with friends and family about bitcoin, I like to blow people's mind. Smiley

And I always advise not to buy, usually that's not even a problem because they are not tech savvy enough to do it...
very much agree with

I need to learn more about bitcoins myself before mentioning it to my friends or to anyone... But to my family, never mind, am sure they don't have even the slightest interest in it...

To family is a waste of time if you tell them and they are just not interested.

I was a student and all my friend talk about Bitcoin . And of course we talk about bitcoin because we are a IT student.

I am not saying all IT student just know about bitcoin but just the most and I know some that they don't know about PC they still do Bitcoin.

yes it is waste of time and even stupid idea. based on my experience:

* they don't care

* you will become their personal security expert, banker and finance adviser + they will blame you if something goes wrong
Oh, that blaming part you got very right. I know this from my personal experience. It is usually happening when I share my bitcoin knowledge with people and they become somewhat interested in topic but lazy to the point that they don't  want to seek additional info for themselves. And they they start blaming me for not telling them that bitcoin bubble is approaching or for sudden negative price spikes...

I'm not sure how things goes in your country , but in mine you can talk how much you want ... that's not going to change anything at all . All they trust is physical cash in their hands (that's in general) .
Now if we speak about my family , they will probably won't ignore you and hear you talking but that's not going to change anything and for what comes to friends they may only get interested but it won't be enough to make them use it so yeah it's mostly waste of time .

Instead of dumping it down their throat you could jus sublty mention it in between conversations

If they ask you for advice you can provide it to them

But making people around you force into believing what you believe has a future is not the best idea

It makes sense that they trust physical cash, Bitcoin's volatility and all.
The market is completely unpredictable.

I mentioned to my colleagues at work about how I am trying to earn BTC through different ways and most didn't know what it was, and the others who did where babbling uninformed speculations about bitcoin and all the rest who were clueless about Bitcoin just agreed to be part of the mass sheeple to feel accepted lol

Friends - mentioned it on some friends, two got interested and now involving themselves in bitcoin.

Family - my brother started noticing that I always buy new things for myself such as a new phone for me and my girl but he doesn't see any cash on me. He found out about my bitcoins and started gaining interest on it. Even my parents want to know more about it after I mentioned how much my hodlings are worth in our currency.

In my experience, to get people interested: hand some major news about bitcoin and show them the current exchange rate on your own currency. You'll see that it will get them hooked. Wink

At Brazil i had showed a friend mine about bitcoins explained that what it is and that is possible to earn a good ammount montly doing some services ,as signatures and faucets and trading, anyway,he said how much did you get from those and how long you present at it,i said and showed to my wife first ,now she understand why i spend sometime writing and more then 3 hours online daily.
But the thing that made them joined were the exchange ratio, money of Brazil its real and 1 dollar=3 reais ,when i said isnt too much but my friend as me like to spend sometime online, searching and having fun ,soo he can now be rewarded from some of his time.

Not a waste of time at all. Droning on and on about it after their eyes have glazed over...that's a waste ;-)

Most of my close friends know I'm interested in this "thing" called bitcoin, some call me whenever they hear something about it. I've given small amounts as gifts.

There 'used' to be more truth in forums than anywhere else.  Twitter:  @cryptobitchicks  Spock: "I am expressing multiple attitudes simultaneously. To which are you referring?"  INTJ-A
