I do not think that it is a waste of time. Some may get interested if you spend the time to explain it, show them some wallet usage and how to earn a bit through faucets, show them some sites accepting Bitcoin etc.
Yes and if your friends and family are tech friendly then the would surely welcome bitcoins with open arms or would simply ignore it, but as a bitcoin users it is our duty that we share this information atleast once with them and whether they want to get into bitcoins or not is totally their decision, even if they ignore we should respect their decisions. |

i did all this, but they still find them too complicated, there are many 50 years old that don't even know well how to use a computer let alone bitcoin and everything related to it my father still can't understand about the whole mining thing, and a bit skeptical about the decentralized thing, they think that is contrrolled in some way |

i did all this, but they still find them too complicated, there are many 50 years old that don't even know well how to use a computer let alone bitcoin and everything related to it my father still can't understand about the whole mining thing, and a bit skeptical about the decentralized thing, they think that is contrrolled in some way This is the main reason why people are not that into bitcoin. They think it's too complicated and only tech savvy people get it. Actually there are pretty nice GUI for phone wallets and pc wallets alike. Even a retard could operate those. The real reason why these people don't want to get into bitcoin is because they're too ignorant to change. They hate change and everything about change. Too bad bitcoin is all about change. |

I don't think it's a good idea in my case. I started talking to my gf about BTC and she told me it's a bad idea and I need stop wasting real money "on such internet scams". I guess it would be even worse if I told my parents.
you need a simple sentence to explain and you are ready to go make them understand. Yes. Easy language is very important. Especially if the people you want to explain them things about Bitcoin have no interest in such things. If they know how it can benefit them, then they will realize that Bitcoin isn't a waste of time.  Yes but the fact is the family is traditional and sometimes very conservative, they even stay away from internet and introducing them to bitcoins would be a really great battle to win, as they even haven't used internet or computers in their ages so they would definitely hesitate in investing bitcoins. As b!z said above. It depends on context. Traditional family mostly dont care about technology and it will be waste time to explain. |

I've had some success trying to get the younger ones to learn bitcoin. I'm somewhat young myself so it doesn't look creepy when I explain tech related stuff to my younger relatives. For some reason though, I don't really want my family members getting to know bitcoin very well. If someone has an addictive personality bitcoin could be the gateway to worse things. Some people are better of sticking with Actual Money™. I wouldn't want their mothers blaming me for stuff they might do after being introduced to BTC  . |

That'd depend on the reputation of that someone. hehe Personally I'm good at making things sound harmless, plus most old people in my family just ignore all sorts of technobabble they hear. |

Exactly! Even though I had many unsuccessful tries to introduce Bitcoin to the new people, these failures shouldn't prevent us to keep spreading the word about this amazing technology. This is the only way that we can reach another level in the user adoption! Yes it's hard work, but the Rome wasn't built in a day! |

Yes we need to keep on trying and insists them to use bitcoins atleast once, if they look at the positive side of bitcoins and the benefits it is offering us, they would surely start using or even if they don't use they would buy few bitcoins and keep it safe for the future if we make aware them this could be best investment product in the future. |

I agree with you, in addition i think that mentioning Bitcoin to friends and family, and to the relatives generally is an good tool helping to support this cryptocurrency and advertise is as well |

Only mention if you think they will like to know about BTC. Sometimes you and your family have different tastes.
It is kind of annoying when people keep mentioning things I have no interest of.

I wouldn't say it's a waste of time. A friend of mine got into BTC a couple of years ago, and I thought it was ridiculous at the time - my perception of it was that it would end up obsolete and be absolutely full of scamtards... I was only half right.  I remember him getting a noisy little miner and shaking my head when he celebrated getting a couple of dollars a month, while his electricity bill was god-knows-what. Also, I found the entirety of it quite overwhelming, so I never pursued it. Two years later, he reintroduced it to me, and I'm quite glad that he did. The possibilities with this are endless, and I am a bit miffed with myself that I didn't look into it when I was first introduced. So I think for some, it just takes time, and small bits and pieces of information. I haven't gotten anyone else into BTC, but it's probably because I need to put more effort into my sales pitch: "volatile digital space monnies you can use to gamble or buy drugs, hits, and child porn"... apparently not everyone shares my sense of humour. |

I sometimes talk to friends and they saying they need more money i say well did you know bitcoin?Do you know you can earn some bucks doing some easy things as post or others ways ?They usually ignore me and think im crazy that i really make money online.

I've managed to get a couple of my friends interested in bitcoin. One wants to start actively buying some from his salary each month. Other wants to learn more about bitcoins. It's not a waste if you can serve the information in a way that seems good for them. People are too stuck in their own egos. |

Its a good thing to speak to some friends and family. I spoke to my dad about it and he said he is interested in the idea behind it and how can gain a good % back on it from leaving it. some friends I spoke to think its a scam, only because they do not know how powerful it is or they do not fully understand it enough to understand what it is. Some other friends and family I spoke to use it and see it as a way to build savings up and leave it for the future as do I. Putting funds in banks now is kinda stupid when you can have a Bitcoin bank and watch the interest surpass any bank.
