How stupid of me, sent 0.01 BTC using a web wallet lol.
Oh well, a little donation to the pot anyway Smiley)

Don't worry, it's not a problem at all. If you won, I'll work with you and help you get the money =)   [This is why I don't just blindly send back to the sending address]

Do we need to provide a tx id when we place a bet here? I'm confused in how you can know who to contact if someone does end up winning if you just have the address it was sent from?

Lol 5 blocks in last 5 minutes. I guess miners want to speed up the PevPot results xD 3 blocks left (and 6 after that for hash.)

edit: wow, 3 in 2 minutes. Didn't even have time to send sponsor money lol.

Best time to bet is right now!

No, if you do it properly it will all be automated. I'd recommend creating a forwarding address from:
https://www.pevpot.com/how-to-play

(Just if you do it wrong, and pay from shared-wallet ... or enter the wrong address (like draw #3), let me know and I can work with you to correct it).

BTW I'm going to sleep now, so I'll handle the draw/payment in the morning =)

Ahh, shit... yeah I didn't see this until just now and paid to play the #6th drawing and the #7th one as well... well, if by some kind of miracle I win, I will definitely do everything in my power to verify it's me. I'll just register later when it comes time for the #8th drawing I suppose. I'm going to bed now as well, hope to wake up and see that my ticket is the gold one  Cheesy

We had to wait till block #389006 (always 6th block after draw finished.) The hash of that block is used in the calculation: https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/block/0000000000000000006d52ca33c82ed5320d21be7d8237020fcd037235403cd2

I am personally calculating the results myself and obviously Ryan will also calculate it to determine the winner. This calculation can take a few hours. So after a few hours we will have the result Smiley If you want to verify the result, you can also run the calculation yourself (but takes time and you should have some technical knowledge.)

Unofficial result for #6: 25238990480fd040ff51f793de5f998d4c3e062f09feaa0f6cf6bab34e44edfc

edit: mm so the "Verify" script says 1,553,035,541 tickets, but the Draw page says 1,553,025,541. This gives 2 different winners (by verify script 5 BTC bettor, by draw page 10 BTC bettor):

>>> print 0x25238990480fd040ff51f793de5f998d4c3e062f09feaa0f6cf6bab34e44edfc % 1553035541
1100532042

>>> print 0x25238990480fd040ff51f793de5f998d4c3e062f09feaa0f6cf6bab34e44edfc % 1553025541
260547462

Which one is correct?

edit: previous draws also seem to add 10k tickets at verify script? So I am guessing the draw page is correct.

I wrote a script to verify the first draw. Here's what it says for this most recent draw:

Edit: I just noticed that https://www.pevpot.com/draws/6 has off-by-one errors.

The first tx bought 230,000 tickets, 0 through 229,999 - but the linked page says 0 through 230,000 (which is 230,001 tickets). Taking 1 from each number in the 'to' column would fix this.

Hi,
I am very fan of Ryan and Pevpot. Thanks for this honest, fair website.
Just a remark... for beginners like me, it is IMPOSSIBLE to know if I won, or not.
The only way I know is checking here when you say "the whale won", then I know I did not win.
So, for the last draw, the winner betted 5-10 btc right, then it's not me?

Hope for the next draw you can say how much was betted, then I have a first idea if it's me, or not... Smiley - also this way we'll have the risk-reward ratio Smiley

Thanks again, astonished there is not much more players.... no problem then I have more odds to win... less... Smiley

Well on https://www.pevpot.com you can scroll to "past draws" and click on latest: https://www.pevpot.com/draws/6 it's pretty clear who won on that page?

But I agree it should be a bit more highlighted on homepage. Maybe a block under current draw on homepage with "Last draw #6, Prize: 15.66BTC, Winner: 61edb7.. of 10.1009722 BTC, Details". If the draw just ended it should say something like "We are calculating the result, this takes a few hours.. come back later to see if you won!".

Nice and innovative lottery project. Congratulations!

It loosely reminds me of a crazy idea (not so +EV) I had long ago:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=409660.0

If marketing is well done, your project may become the Google of lotteries!  Grin

BTW (talking about Google) why not displaying AdWords like style of ads from sponsors alongside with their banners/images?

Pot decreased considerably...

Tip: raise min ticket purchase to .001 BTC so things get more interesting once more... Wink

Seems like the site owner can just deposit 10 BTC and have a huge chance of winning.

I looked at the site and red flags pop up saying thats what is happening.

If you look only 1 person buys a ton of tickets and wins every time.

If you look only 1 person buys a ton of tickets and wins every time.
But that doesn't mean the site owner is cheating (because the game is provably fair).

p.s. but it might mean that there is a considerable conflict of interest happening every round...

I think just a bit unfair like last draw where someone deposited 10Btc and won. Only those who can deposit higher amount has the high chances of winning and if you dont have you are just donating coz you have0 0% chances to take the current prize pot.

A maximum tickets per participants is necessary to be fair to those cant afford to buy high enough.

^^ If max number of tickets per player is set, a whale only needs to buy several of them in order to divide his 10 BTC bet.

It works like real life: "Offline" lotteries work that way too...

If that whale bets 10 BTC and loses (and it's possible), that's gonna hurt...
