Seems literally impossible now. There is no benefit for them and there will never be, other coins however could be implemented, other coins that actually work like a currency, something that bitcoin is not equipped to do right now. Fees way too high, transactions way too slow, volatility. Steam just dropped bitcoin as a payment for these reasons.

Well said if this problem still not solved for over some months bitcoin will be very hard to accept by local businesses even some international stores that accepting btc will drop this payment method because of very many problems facing right now by bitcoins much better to use altcoins like xrp or xlm with very low transaction fees.

I am looking to help move BTC forward into our economy more and would like to get some suggestions on how we can get more retailers to accept BTC as a payment.  The best part about accepting BTC is that they do not have any threat of charge-back from the customer.  I am just looking for some more input before I start approaching some of these local retailers.

the only way you can encourage people to use bitcoin, is that it will grow with time. Because as a technology Bitcoin is no longer attractive and can not really improve the quality of life. Why you create or build local business if you are not educated in that particular business. Now a days, it almost 80 percent of local business use technology like computer and many more. So don't target those not educated because they will not understand it. I said it's simple cause if they are connected in internet they will easily understand it because of many facts about bitcoin.

Talking about defects, everything and every system has the defects, but here we have to see is whether it is better than the one it is about to replace that is fiat currency? I get your point on lack of knowledge. But the thing is, there are others too who are knowledgeable enough yet they do not agree with the idea of Bitcoin per se. Hence, you cannot really equalize knowledge to agreement because in the end, you may or may not agree with one another regardless of the knowledge you have over a specific subject matter. I think if there were a lot of people that simply ask "do you accept bitcoin" this would make the business think to themselves everyone is asking about this bitcoin thing let me find out what it is and then once they look into it they may adopt it or even come back to you to ask for more information.

Other larger companies with an online space would have systems where they log support queries so over time if they keep getting the same query they will no doubt look into it or already be looking into it.

Well, all what the local retailers need is education of what Bitcoin potential is all about and other crypto currency has in stock if they should invest start accepting Bitcoin as a mode of payment in there various shop's and the rest of them.

The truth is I want to convince some of my member of my family because he has a pretty big business and that would be great if he will accept cryptocurrencies as a payment per contract, this can increase awareness too. My mother have some grocery store and the everyday profit of that store is not bad, the thing here is that the people who are 40 years old older or even the 30's is not listening to me, yup they know about cryptocurrencies and they know that I'm earning too, but still they cant welcome this technology in their lives, they are content with the present system, they are content following the old rules. I don't know but i think this is how they grow, this is the world they have lived in ( it's not that i'm saying that all are like this) , Im just saying that we have a better chance on the youngster that have some business nowadays and we must pick them as our audience in spreading the cryptocurrencies awareness.

Our generation grew up with technology. It evolved as we grew up. This new generation has had it since they were babies. That's crazy. It fundamentally changes they way they understand and think about technology. They've never known life without it, whereas we knew life without the Internet.
