PayPal stole $10 from me once... I will never use their service again, so BitCoin. Except now, BitCoin can be used anywhere or me thanks to the shift card.

Paypal is popular only because its been into existence since long time and majority of people knows about it and it is accepted by each and every site.

That's true if bitcoin and paypal were established at the same time for sure people will tend to use more bitcoin rather than paypal. Since paypal is used only for sending and receiving of money.
Unlike, bitcoin it can be used for many ways.
Thats why bitcoin still not the same as paypal because its more secured to use paypal and more people are choosing paypal because you can reverse payment unlike bitcoin.. maybe in the future will added a feature that you can reverse a payment...

Its really difficult to imagine that bitcoin transactions will get reversed, but I think its our responsibility to check twice before sending bitcoin to anyone, its very simple I guess.

I'll have to go with Bitcoin. (Answering Paypal I assume would get you slain by the people of this "Bitcoin"talk forum lol)

While it may be less risky to use Paypal, my money still is with Bitcoin primarily for reasons of *I don't need a credit card* and *I don't need to avail any sort of bank services*. Over here in my locality, I can just use remittance centers to fund and cash out my Bitcoin wallet. Something I couldn't do before Bitcoin became a thing.

Yeah the benefits of bitcoin are huge, and Paypal is nothing in compare to bitcoin, people are using Paypal only because they are not aware about bitcoin yet.

very true, very many people who have not tried bitcoin, and the possibility paypal users, to be honest, I also look for the dollar to my paypal account, but it is difficult, in contrast to bitcoin

People use the bitcoin for some payments but I honestly now still use paypal because on the most stores there is no bitcoin accepted.
I hope this will change in the future but right now paypal is because of that better for me.

this is not even a serious question.

On no front does paypal even come close to BTC

BTC is far better for value transfer, surety, control, access.

I am amazed just how quick it is to use BTC to buy things. The transaction in BTC goes through way faster than it takes me to pull out the credit card enter the number wait etc. Ok true this was a zero confirm so not really a "transaction" but that's good enough.

I feel quite amazed how archaic it feels to go into a bank or use the creaking banking infrastructure vs btc tech.

Perhaps the only thing is claw back, but still you deal with reputable people and you will be ok, x 100 or thousand transactions and its not worth their while to rip you off.

Bitcoin is far better  but right now the big downside is that its not accepted by a lot of company's, if this would change this conversation would be a whole other story without any doubts.

I think that both of them are good but paypal is bit better cause it accepted in many online shops, would be great if bitcoin will be accepted by equal amount of shops as paypal.

There are allot of people who say bitcoins are for the future and that is correct. So dont use the bitcoin for now just store them For online payments use the trusted paypal service that will work many times better.
I think yes, as of now it is better to use paypal since it is use widely from different stores online, unlike bitcoin that is just starting to be accepted by some merchants. But if bitcoin will be used widely just like paypal, I would also prefer to use that Smiley
bitcoin has several functions , either as an online payment or as an investment , PayPal may be more widely used and adopted by the company , as the main of payment method , I think bitcoin is too young , so still less adopted , but based on various sectors , such as for retail , domains , vps , games, gambling, porn and more I think of each of these sectors, accept bitcoin as a payment method
Yes that's why paypal is mostly used in buying stuffs online. I also love bitcoin and I am seeing it having a potential of being adopted by the merchants who adopted paypal. It was impressive that bitcoin is continually adopted by small and big retailers/merchants as time goes by. I can use it to buy mobile loads, pay bills, vpn, gift cards and many more as of now and I am really looking forward for the better future of bitcoin.

Paypal is popular only because its been into existence since long time and majority of people knows about it and it is accepted by each and every site.
No meaning in gaining popularity by negative way. The problem with doing bitcoin to paypal is that it's kinda risky because of the whole paypal's chargeback thing. The bitcoin seller could make the buyer do a refund, and then he wouldn't receive the bitcoins back.
The popularity of paypal will be shadowed by bitcoin in near time.

Bitcoin is much better than paypal

How come you considered bitcoin was better then you stated it has big downsides?

Can you called a "better one" but with downsides?

As far as all services are concerned, they are both really better. If you only stated at least few factors why bitcoin was far better then better leave it in your own.

For me, there's no need to choose one if you can use both. Both have flaws and both are useful. We choose one and say that it's better because it suits our needs. It really depends on how we need it and how it can ease our transactions.

i think bitcoin only. because Paypal is not present everywhere. where as bitcoin is universal. Paypal is some time creating problems. some time it sticks. but bitcoin is reliable. it can be use anywhere without any doubt and suspicious. i think bitcoin is the best in these days as compare to paypal and others in present time.

For online shopping I prefer bitcoin because paypal has a dispute feature where the buyer can cancel its payment from the seller when he/she got what he/she wants. Even though bitcoin has an anonymous transactions I prefer it rather than paypal.

Well that's what the disadvantage of paypal for the sellers, and I find it very unfair if they only have buyer protection problem.
The rights of the sellers to get the product that buyers got is impossible to happen.
Disputing can be used for scams, in bitcoin you just need to be sure for each of your transactions.

Honestly almost all stores online are accepting paypal.. unlike bitcoin.. but maybe in the future more store are accepting bitcoin as payment.. but for now its not.. paypal still good in security purposes and more people are using paypal.. bitcoins have a future and its good for speculation and illegal activities.. or gambling only.. because of anonymous.. there's no details for your real name or real identy unlike paypal.

Glad your country has some kind of a way to pay bills too! Here, we use an app and we can use bitcoins to pay our bills. It's really helpful because it's rather convenient. It's just a little sad that not all countries are supported or have this kind of app but I'm pretty sure they will have this too.
