How is this even a debate? The anonymous of a crypto and decentralization offers many more incentives then PayPal. The only downside is that it is not widely accepted yet  Cry

Yeah, the real problem with bitcoin right now is that nobody in real life really accepts it while paypal is probably one of the most widely accepted payment processor across the world after visa and mastercard.

But bitcoin should catch up in the long term.
Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

What are your opinions on paypal or bitcoin for online shopping?

I prefer bitcoin because I don't have a paypal. I tried registering to have a paypal account but there are a lot of requirements on confirmations to do unlike bTC which is very easy to use and user friendly except the waiting time for confirmation.

Yeah, that's one of the disadvantage of paypal, is having a very hassle way of being verified. You need to be verified first in able to have a transaction. And I find it very costly in money and also in time. Unlike in bitcoin you just need to sign up and after that you already have your
unique wallet address.
I will choose for Bitcoin and the reason is because I like to use Bitcoin and I also think that Bitcoin will be the future payment method instead of Paypal.
And you already can even see that Bitcoin is becoming more popular now and that is really nice.

When it comes to shopping, paypal is better than bitcoins because the confirmations of bitcoin in blockchain took so long nowadays and sometimes it is stuck on blockchain so you have no choice but to wait. But paypal has a negative side because it is so hard to have a paypal account.

I only use bitcoin to buy online. I would not even consider PayPal or other systems. The problem they all have is that they tie your identity with your money. For example I gave a friend of mine my login credentials for Overstock.com. I told him anything he can steal is his to keep. When he got to the website he found that no credit card information was filled out and that there was no path to my bank account. If I used credit cards he would have had all that is needed to spend my money. I am on my 3rd. debit card for the year due to data breaches. But I have never lost a Satoshi of bitcoin.

Keep your countless rules and endless fees.  Wink
i think it is better to use paypal by online payments because they give you any warranty when you want to order something and you did not received it you will get your money back.

What are your opinions on paypal or bitcoin for online shopping?

They're basically the same when you're only talking about shopping, both pp and btc via bitpay get confirmed instantly.
The main difference to buyer/holder is that paypal can limit your account and freeze your money, where with bitcoin that cant happen.

i would say people use the paypal because there will always be people are interested in the paypal because the bitcoin is to new and untrustable.

Paypal just came in first. That is the problem. So people are more used to this kind of transaction than anything else. Another reason is companies already absorbed Paypal and changing it would mean changing a lot in their transactions.

I think you all can better use paypal off course only by buying things online because paypal is so secured by online payments that they can give money back is you are scammed.

Yes maybe it was also affected. That bitcoin is still new and still little is adopting bitcoin, while PayPal has a very long and already many are familiar with paypal as a payment via the Internet. Maybe if bitcoin could thrive will surely could be better. But in the transaction process and I favor the ease of bitcoin. And I prefer to use bitcoin.

Some are also already aware of bitcoin, but they're just actively avoiding it since it's too volatile at the moment.

I'd much rather use Bitcoin as it only charges .1 or so fees and paypal can go up to 5-7% fees.

Not just 0.1 is only charges somewhat 0.000001 up to 0.0001 and for us, still that is not a big amount and very affordable price when sending of money to other people by means of btc.
And that's the advantage of bitcoin is that the charging fee is only low and very convenient and fast to use.

actually it's just a mater of popullarity, bitcoin is too young if we compare it with paypal, paypal better for those who never using bitcoin in their entire life, i dont know it just my feeling or something that bitcoin has many features than paypal, pseudoanonimity, decentralized, simplest etc

for now I tend to prefer to use PayPal as an online payment service. Why? because the current online stores that offer payment using bitcoin remains limited. however, in the future when many stores are offering payment using bitcoin, maybe I would prefer to use it.  Grin

for me Paypal is good but bitcoin is best, bitcoin more because we earn bitcoin easily and they are also easy to do transactions. We also earn bitcoin easily through mining. so in my opinion bitcoin is better way to for online shopping and transactions than Paypal.
