Bitcoin is money, cause you can go to an exchange and sell bitcoin for real cash. There is also alt coin that help to convert bitcoin to cash easier. Like OMG whereby it uses blockchain to remit money eaiser. Tenx enables to use bitcoin and other alt coins that can be used for debit card payment. Ethereum also use smart contract to allows fund raising ICO to gather money so they have their own startups.

I maintain that per these definitions, Bitcoin cannot possibly be described as "money". And further, I think that those who do describe Bitcoin as "money" are doing this community a disservice.

+1 agreed.  It's a commodity, a digital store of value.

So long you can walk into a store and pay with something I see it as a valid money. So do I see Bitcoin as money? Yes. Did you know that the paper money you pay with can be worthless tomorrow just like Bitcoin? Gold is kinda the only safe currency that survived in all the times. The good thing about Bitcoin you can pay everywhere in Bitcoin without having to calculate someone else local currency. But some history lessons about the past can not hurt and it has happened before in history that paper money suddenly became worthless. It can happen again.

Nicely written!
In my opinion more and more cryptocoins will want to have some cover in the background, for example Xaurum, which has a backing with physical investment gold.

Bitcoin is qualifies as money, the characteristic is better than fiat. I think serial number of paper money will not make it non counterfeitable. It's also easy to carry and safe. Bitcoin is money, it is virtual global currency.

Bitcoin can be interpreted into two different sides because bitcoin is not real money, Bitcoin isn't money that hands can touch because bitcoin is virtual money that can be converted into real money. So many ways people interpret what is the meaning of bitcoin Wink

everyone defines the bitcoin / alcoin differently. and I define bitcoin as a transactional tool that changes form or value, from crypto currency to local currency that can be used by the world community. and it's very easy for bitcoin users in terms of transactions, very useful and very helpful.

Bitcoin is intended to be used as money. The extent to which it differs from the various definitions of money is primarily due to its unpopularity and lack of government sanction, which in my opinion should not matter when speaking about it as "money."
Yes, there is no harm if we consider that bitcoin is the same as the money will be different but the shape is called a digital currency. If the money we can use in the real world and directly but if bitcoin it could only be used in the internet world. but in the end it also endowed a bitcoin can we use to help our real life needs. with bitcoin we can make money is useful in the future.

Yes, it is. I already tested. I charged my cellphone with bitcoins, and everything ran well. Cheesy

I think the main threat in considering bitcoin real money is its comparison with easy money or money that is used for smuggling. But in the end bitcoin always has an associated value. And it is also determined by demand and supply.

I think anything you can use to trade it for another good can be money.
That is what you think and guess what, you are correct that is exactly the definition of money, money is anything that you can use to get others people products and since you can do that with bitcoin then bitcoin is money, it is as simple as that.

yes there is no doubt that bitcoin is money, although it is a digital currency and we can only use it for online purposes, but still it can fulfill our needs that we can also fulfill using our fiat currency. i am sure that in future the use of bitcoin as currency will be increasing, because the users of bitcoin are increasing from time to time and now people are showing more interest in bitcoin.

I believe that the statement: "bitcoin is new kind of money" passes the duck test.

Bitcoins function as money (they're a unit of account, a medium of exchange, and a store of value), and if PayPal started allowing Bitcoin transactions tomorrow I'm certain they'd treat them as Just Another Currency.

If you like, call it a commodity, but I think all you'll accomplish is confusing potential users who might think they'll end up getting pork-bellies delivered to their porch if they don't get rid of their bitcoins.

that's right, I'm as bad as bitcoin is a new currency but it's classified as a digital ungodly eye that its use is still limited yet all of them can use it.
so just enjoy this while we can

Yes it is a digital money.  Smiley Because it have it's own price, can be used in a lot of shops, online casinos etc. same as fiat money. So why bitcoin is not money? It is money as we can buy something for it.

Yes i agree with you. For me bitcoin is online money. You access it whenever you want, and even the government can't see how many bitcoins you have.

For people saying it is not money. Please educate yourselfs again. It is digital money.

Absolutely yes, bitcoin is a fiat money in a digital form reversingly you can exchange it in a paper money in whatever currency you want. It was made the digit money called bitcoin to  avoid third party between the government and the bank.

There is no uncertainty about Bitcoin that we can utilize Bitcoin as like cash. We can purchase everything by utilizing Bitcoin and number of Bitcoin clients are expanding day by day.You can trade your Bitcoin into some other regular cash like dollar, euro or yen.Bitcoin can be utilized to purchase things electronically and you can pay a wide range of installment to utilize Bitcoin. In that sense it resembles cash which are likewise treaded carefully. Bitcoin is not physically printed like other cash but rather it works like other cash.

Bitcoin can’t really suit into our traditional understanding of what money is. But, if we look at it from the point of view that we pay Bitcoins in order to obtain some goods, then yes, I think Bitcoin is money. Also, there are a lot of reasons to believe Bitcoin will get a chance to open up to more people all over the world and that may change our understanding of what traditional currency is.
