Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Your website seems to have been having trouble for a week or so...down most of the time and very slow when available.

How do I view the old version with all the pairs sorted by volume?

Looks like the old version is gone and replaced completely with the V2 one?

I actually preferred the old charts - specifically, the volume bars were useful, rather than an averaged curve shown in the v2 charts.

However, thanks xchrisx for working on the site to overcome the traffic issues!

Is something messed up with the api?  Yesterday it didn't work at all with a cloudflare saying the site was down.  Today I can get coin lists but trading pairs do not work.  For instance http://www.cryptocoincharts.info/v2/api/tradingPair/[ltc_btc] just returns a list of coins not actual trade data.

In v1, you used to have data tables that I could copy and paste. I used to love them and use them a lot. Please bring them back.

Just a quick question...

Would like to use the API for price information for a service. Fully intend caching data locally so as to limit api calls to say, 2 per minute or less.

Is this acceptable use?

Are you adding any new trading pairs?

2 per minutes is ok if everything runs fine. if the server needs much time to respond then its overloaded Wink
yes i am adding every new trading pair which is traded on one of the exchanges automatically.

@xchrix thank you for reply - probably should have added that there only 10 perhaps 12 trading pairs that I need - just reading your api doc - I see how to do that.

That's great - ty

@xchrix

doge_btc works for one tradingPair call but not in tradingPairs list context call i.e. btc_usd,doge_btc,blah_blah

Is this a bug?

Wanted to try out the python api (https://github.com/Dirrot/python-cryptocoincharts-api) today, updated the URL in the library to reflect the new one, but I get an HTTP 403 (Forbidden) error code. Visiting the same URL with my browser results in getting the data, with the python API not.

Any thoughts on what could go wrong?
