When whatching some videos about bitcoin i came to know there is lots of address can be made for bitcoin almost unlimited. So creating many addresses doesn't seem to affect bitcoin network.

I have around 3 address 2 of those are cold wallet address and 1 main everyday hot wallet. I have Cold wallet to store in safer place and stop me from spending madly in gamblings.

How much bitcoin address do you have and why you have to create more than one address?

>100. Because I can not imagine how you keep track of things with just a single address. For every deal (except low value) I generate a new address and usually for long term deal (e.g. sig campaigns) a new address monthly. When I see an incoming payment on the address I labeled with "vanitygen Quickseller x 20" I know who paid me for what. How do you do this with just a single address?

The other thing is, with the high number of addresses its difficult for someone to know how much bitcoin I have in total. If you just have a few its pretty easy to find them.

Im not really here, its just your imagination.

I use Electrum: good thing is it keeps track of my addresses otherwise I would be doomed!  Grin
Everytime I go for new transaction he uses a new address, which is a good thing. And I don't have to worry about change addresses. With core I lost some bits because of the change. I did not know what it was: but now I know and I prefere to use Electrum wallet.

I have 3 hot wallet/address, >30 addresses for various services, 10 for loans, 1 cold storage. With more than one Bitcoin addresses, there are more privacy and it is easier to see the purpose of the transactions since they're all labeled. I currently don't use HD wallet yet, might do so in the future. I found it easier to not use change address as it's rather confusing.

There are some attacks made easier if you knew the public key for an address. The public key only gets revealed after you send coins from an address, so it's safer not to reuse an old address after you have sent coins from it. I try to use a new address each time I send coins, and I only keep what I intend to spend in an address, so I have loads of addresses with small amounts in.

Quote
Established security best practices discourage address re-use because when Monica sends you the restaurant bill, she reveals the public key for the last-sent-to address; before that, the world knew only the address (a hash of the public key) and would have had to perform a pre-image attack to find the public key. While it’s pretty unlikely, ECDSA is relatively new and could be found to be weak; private keys may somehow be found to be easily derived from public ones, exposing any unspent coins where the public key is known.

Re-using addresses also probably increased the losses suffered via the Android SecureRandom bug, since exploiting it required seeing two transactions with the same last-sent-to and the same r values.

The discoverers of the OpenSSL ECDSA “FLUSH+RELOAD” attack estimated that under the right conditions they could recover a private key by observing as few as 200 signatures (in Bitcoin’s case, typical transactions) made with it.

Hopefully those are the last bugs we’ll see related to re-use, but we can’t be sure.

Since it’s Monica’s money at stake here, the decision on whether these threats are significant should be up to her.

Far over 1000 because re-using addresses is bad practice for financial privacy and security.

For some strange reason many people make the mistake of thinking of a bitcoin address as an account number. It is not.  It doesn't behave anything like an account.  Treating it that way only leads to more confusion for the poor fools that make that mistake.

A bitcoin address is an invoice number.  It's a way to keep track of a specific payment request.  Therefore, it doesn't make any sense to re-use bitcoin addresses. I use a new address for every transaction, so by now I probably have several hundred bitcoin addresses.

I have way more than just 1 Address..
Just due to the fact that i need at least 5 to 6 to sperate different Incomes and keep an eye on everything that joins or leaves my Wallet.
Of course this would still be possible with only 1 address..
But this way its more organized.
At this moment i have like 10 Addresses on my Desktop and about 7 on my Mobile Wallet.

That's a great way to explain it! I to have several hundred addresses from different transactions.
