This project would fail arcades machines present at some shops, being using just fiat,if someone insane convert or ad the bitcoin as payment we would see there is a small group holding some pennies, soo as i said before nowadays this is an almost dead market.

Already been done, I remember a picture with an arcade machine running what probably was mame, and you were able to pay and play games on it, it had the street fighter cabinet, I will try to find the picture. Edit: Anyway couldn't find that one but I have found this: This is great and all, but wouldn't you have to wait a long time to start playing the games. This is where fiat or a credit card becomes very handy. Bitcoin just can't do all the things that fiat can and vise versa, thats why we need both in the world. You can always accept 0 confirmations or wait for Lightning Network which will make instant payments like this pretty much possible so stuff like this could perfectly run under the Bitcoin ecosystem, it already does in casino online games. Exactly. Why would you require confirmation for a quarter? If the Tx does turn out to be fake then the game shuts off and the operator is out $0.25 worth of game play. So what. It would be a big hassle for the bad guy and all he would get is a few mins. of game play. That is what credit cards do at McDonald's, for example. When you buy there the restaraunt has no idea if it is a fake transaction. They don't even check because it would take to long and cost too much. They just gamble that you would not commit credit fraud for a big mac.

This is a good idea, but there aren't that may arcades around these days (at least not where I live). What about soda or snack machines that take bitcoins?

That would be pretty cool. It would make it pretty handy to spend your Bitcoins anywhere there is a soda or snack machine around. About arcade machines, I know that there hasn't been much attention around it but I think that once BTC machines are made and would offer the ability to earn coins as well, many kids would want to play these. You would be having fun and earning satoshis at the same time.

Sure it could be changed to but look how hard it is to change anything bitcoin, I think we are going to have realize Bitcoin isn't going to be the all in one coin solution unless many things change.
Agree. And I might think that the perfect candidate for this type of thing could be Ethereum all along. Since it is a decentralized app platform, such application could be made within the Ethereum blockchain to program any vending machine or arcade cabinet to accept ETH. It would be much faster to confirm an ETH transaction, than having to wait 15 to 30 minutes for BTC to get confirmed at all.

This might sound crazy but do you ever imagined yourself playing with an arcade cabinet, with the ability to pay with Bitcoins instead of a quarter? (0.25 usd) I have been looking for such machine that would serve that purpose, but I can't seem to find it. It will be real fun to play some of the arcade classics with your BTC. Don't you think? You can play the roms for free on your computer hooked to the big screen TV with a joystick and buttons, and you can do it sitting in your lounge chair... for free. No quarters and no BTC required.

But it would be nice if you can pay with Bitcoin or something, that will be so nice if that can happen in the future.

I would definitely pay BTC to play back in the arcade machines. I understand the comfort of playing in your own home but it sucks that the real life experience of playing videogames with friends has been lost. Back in the 80's and early 90's it was a social thing, you would meet with friends and play videogames. Now kids are becoming idiots that never leave their bedroom because they have it all there.
Arcade machines need to come back, I wish btc somehow helped in making it real again.

Yup - I agree, the whole thing with the smell of the sea + chips (or 'fries' in the US I guess) and the cold wind that makes your hair go crazy is fantastic. Looking forward to some warmer weather to go to the seaside for real now. Though the only thing I would say is we don't get ice cream on our buttons and it's a whole lot warmer. lol! https://bitcoin-arcade.com

As an aside I'm very curious to know why arcade games haven't advanced one bit in twenty years. I still see the same games at the seaside that were there when I was a nipper. I fully assumed they'd be virtual reality miracles by now.
I don't think that they need to get more advanced. The way they are now is perfectly fine to me. Maybe adding virtual reality arcade games would be nice, but they would also cost quite a lot of money for each turn. I doubt that we will be seeing Bitcoin arcade games anywhere in the near future. Using fiat for small transactions like this is way more convenient. Now most arcades just give you a card which you fill with money to play. Maybe one day you could fill that card up with Bitcoin.

There is a site named bitcoinarcade online its kinda like a horse race that you will bet using bitcoins, so when your chosen horse wins you will profit from the game. But dont waste time on those kinds of game its boring. Anyway, there is a news about bitcoin to be use arcade machines and I found it on CNET news. Heres the link https://www.cnet.com/news/bitcoin-operated-arcade-machine-is-a-game-changer/. Hope this helps you.

Oh and I thought this thread is dug up for posting reasons. So the one who dig it is related to some bitcoin arcade. Good thinking to avoid double thread. But this might have a higher possibility that moderator might lock this up because the first post is from 2015. You should've just created one. Bitcoin arcade machines are really cool if you will ask me so it could be fun to talk about it.

An arcade machine accepting bitcoin? It is absolutely awesome! I will definitely play on this if it will be available I hope that there will be more machines like vendo machine which accepts bitcoin. I will make our life easier Yes, it will be something out of this world. I think that it will be the very first arcade machine that would accept Bitcoin, once implemented into arcade sites. It may bring Bitcoin closer to mainstream adoption, however some issues need to be address before Bitcoin can be considered as a means for quick payments within the arcade machine. At current network load, you would be waiting 30 minutes or more for your transaction to confirm, to be able to play a game in the arcade. That is why it may be ideal to do it with an altcoin like Litecoin, in the meantime, until Bitcoin's scalable solutions like SegWit gets approved. Nevertheless, when Bitcoin becomes accepted into arcade machines, it will open up a path for it to become closer towards mainstream adoption and usage. Especially, children would be using Bitcoin to play games in the arcade, or even earn satoshis from the games played if possible. Just sharing my thoughts.
