given the cayos happening in the world i wouldn't be surprised of nuclear war and in this case i would expect internet disruption question is what happens to Bitcoin if internet goes down?

Let's say it will really happen,however i dont think that internet all across the world could get destroyed.
The thing is that bitcoin is actually not physical,it is a bunch of code,number,and blocks and also people who trust this system,so they are willing to pay money for every bitcoin.
If internet would dissapear,also transactions could not go through,because they are made by a web,and we cannot expect "face to face" transactions,if it is digital.
Unless someone would predict it,and it would be possible to proove that you have bitcoin "with physical evidence"

The modern technology is much better and in that time internet cannot go down, as nowadays there are a lot of big businesses running online which are more important to us for the success and advancement of the nations.

If there was no internet, there would be no bitcoin or emails or twitter, etc. Of course it would have to be a catastrophic world event for the internet to disappear and I think we would have more to worry about than bitcoin. I think the internet is here to stay for the foreseeable future.

Yes very affected because you can not access online and all online transactions will be disappear and all of us will do manual transaction even in the banks. And i think this are not gonna be happen instead all ISP is upgrading their services in their client because we are now facing to be digital in near future all of our transaction made in online that is why internet connection is the key for the transactions. Yeah thats correct as long as you have the secret phrase to your wallet your coins are safe but if internet goes down well all transactions, confirmations are useless and even bitcoin become useles because everything happens online needs internet, obviously.

It would not only affect Bitcoin but all the transactions made throughout the world who uses Internet. The communication would be slowed down similar to previous decades or years that we would like back t Telegraph or telephone lines which would be a hassle in everyone of us. I can't imagine a world without Internet especially to these high tech generation.

Well, this is partially a good news
Now we just need to figure out on how to get a surviving Computers and Internet Connection and the most important part, the bitcoin wallet itself

If we have a physical wallet chances are it will still survive the nukes, say goodbye to your coins if you have the online wallet option because most likely it will get blown up in the first place

Pretty much this is true, if internet goes down bitcoin network will collapse (we are talking about the global internet shutdown here).  Furthermore in transaction like payment online or remitances, as stated, when bitcoin network collapse all the transaction will be at halt.  So no remittances, even all sort of online transaction will stop.

It can happen for all transactions that take place online and not only bitcoins but I do agree that if we are only depending on the crypto currency, it can be a huge problem for those who transact almost daily and cannot afford to lose on any transaction due to internet failures. Same was the case with blockchain which was down few months ago and transactions came to a halt.

yeah well said ! if also internet goes down then its not possible to go internet down in the whole world but in some places and which can't stop peoples from using bitcoins

If internet goes down bitcoin will probably be the least of your problems. If something taht big happens and its consequences are capable of bringing internet down on a worldwide level then I guess you should worry for other staff more than what you do for cryptocurrencies. Having said that, I believe that even in the worst case senario , since the technology behind internet is now available to all, local-small lan networks will always survive. And who knows btc could be used there.

Well it can happen if a nuclear weapon blasts in the atmosphere of earth(not on land but air). And it will affect the whole world. But if you have stored btc offine in hard drive like TREZOR then you are safe and can use your btc.

I think if the Internet went down, btc wouldn't stop existing. We'll still have it potential existence. I think it's comparable to the biological virus when it is not active in the organism. It is sort of dead but then can suddenly become alive.

This questions that are very unique. I think if the internet is down, then bitcoin will not be able to operate. In other words bitcoin will not be used, because the bitcoin system using the Internet. But maybe satoshi have another idea to resolve this
