How big is the current total blockchain of Decred?
Would it be possible to store the blockchain on a external hdd and stake the Decred from there?
thx BR Harry
Please anybody with answers to the questions raised above i am highly interested in knowing also! You can stake offline if you are staking by pool. If the concept of staking by pool confuses you, you need to read about decred staking because it is unique If you want to stake solo you need the command line wallet and it needs to be on all the time. Also in any case you need to buy the tickets (the cost is locking your coins, you don't actually spend them to buy the tickets). Just having coins in the wallet does not lead to staking automatically The blockchain data on my hard drive right now is about 1.92 GB

I am trying to setup a POS ticket with a pool and just wanted to confirm that whilst the DCR are in my wallet, the pool cannot access it? I just want to make sure my funds are
safe before setting up a ticket, as I have never done this before. Also is for the backup is the only thing you need the wallet.db file? Or do you need more files?
Cheers mates!
Yes, the pool doesn't have access to your coins, they remain in your wallet during the stake period, you cann't use them until this period is completed. It can take from 24 hours to 142 days, it depends on your luck. Sometimes it's possible to have several tickets bought and voted with the same coins within a month, making the profit go from ~2.5% to ~5%, 7.5% per month. For backup you need only the seed or if you prefer the wallet.db file. With the seed you can recover in different wallets. With wallet.db only in an equal wallet. Hello please i would like some clarity on the percent earned for POS is it percent of coins i own or percent of block mined that i earn? And how does the ticket work is it like a lottery or once i have 63 DCR i can just start staking? Yes, the current ticket price is 63.04 and the ROI is 2.29%, see current ticket prices and history here: https://dcrstats.com/

actually it's way more steady nowadays than in the past, after changing the alrgorythm we're having less swings on the price you can check some stats here https://dcrstats.com/EDIT: just seen the rise now. new graph is supposed to have small peaks and come back a bit higher than before if I'm not wrong...

It's surprising that none of these Chinese exchanges list Decred yet. Well, at least you have Poloniex and Bittrex.

Hi ekin4, Just searched the whole binance website and found nothing mentioning the listing fee amount. Only that fees are paid with BnB. What is your souce for the 5 BTC listing fee?

It's how the cycle works when you're a serious project. People have become accustomed to ICO scams full of promises and hype, without much substance. Decred's development activity has been unusually active in the background when compared to other projects. A little while ago I calculated the number of pull requests (collections of code) finalised and merged into Decred's core repositories and it was well over 2,000 since launch. Now that's a weak statistic to base development quality on, but it shows serious activity. Anyone familiar with the codebase itself can attest to its quality. I would imagine that's why the upstream project (same developers, same core codebase) received praise from the Lightning Network this year: "Our Bitcoin library of choice is btcsuite, the very set of libraries that powers btcd, the full-node implementation which is also written in pure-golang." If the same code and effort that went into Decred is good enough for them, I'd say we're on the right track. Especially considering the great major milestones on the updated roadmap:- Public proposal system
- Stakeholder-directed DAO
- Lightning Network
- Enhanced user privacy
Having said all that, it takes particularly skilled people to recognise this and read between the lines.
