That means if things go well, the lightning network will be operational in ~6 weeks? Almost after the bitcoin forking saga should end. This could truly boost decred's value and exposure IMO. Smiley

out of topic...

U.S. crypto users may soon have a tax exemption that will make spending crypto more user-friendly than ever. This could bring millions of new American buyers into the space.

That's good news, cryptocurrencies will slowly become more popular. Some countrys first block it, only to find out how to deal with it and then allow it.

I want to start POS mining with the dcrwallet but I have some problems with it.
I used the dcrinstall file and downloaded the blockchain with dcrd. Then I started the dcrwallet with dcrd running in the background.
Until this point everything works fine. If I understand it right the next step is to open the dcrctl file but the problem is that dcrctl close itself instandly after I open it.
Does anybody know this problem?

seems that you are using the command line version of decred you could try the version with Decredition for a less challenging experience  Wink

anyway for the dcrctl a batch file is the solution, create a .txt past insied the code below and rename it to .bat

Code:
dcrctl.exe

cmd /k

A beginner’s guide to Decred

What is Decred?
According to the Decred website, “Decred is an open and progressive cryptocurrency with a system of community-based governance integrated into its blockchain.” Bitcoin paved the way for cryptocurrencies in 2009 and there are a number of groups that have subsequently branched off to start new coins. One example is Decred which is a fork of Bitcoin with its own unique differences. This post should help those who are new to Decred to understand how it is different than other cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin..........

Decred will be approached twice on V Brazilian Bitcoin Conference.

In the presentation by João Ferreira aka girino and Gabriel Rhama and also by Edilson Osorio Jr, CEO of www.originalmy.com who uses dcrtime in his company for the registration of documents, patents and contracts in the DCR’s blockchain.

Thank you! Decredition is much easier  Grin

But I have 2 more questions:
Am I right that I need enough DCR to buy a whole ticket which is about 71 DCR right now?
Which pool is recommendable? Or isnt there much of a difference?

Yes, you need to buy an entire ticket to stake it.
Check here for current ticket price: https://dcrstats.com/ It also lists a number of stake pools you can look into. I can recommend stakepool.dcrstats; have had 0 issues, and the android app is nice.

Ok so I need to buy 8 more DCR before I can start staking Smiley
Thank you

Staking is working now. Thank you guys.
Decredition offers the possibility to buy tickets automatically. Is this also possible for the voting process?

Ok seems like I understood this wrong. The stakepool does the voting for me. But I have to be online to buy new tickets even if I use the automate ticket buying?

there is no mobile wallet for DCR yet

at the moment the best move is to accumulate and once you have enough to purchase a ticket , join a stakepool and stake

using a stakepool means you do not need to have a computer online as the stakepool takes care of this

You can use the webwallet on mobile.
It's safe, only the blockchain and graphical interface are online, the keys are stored in your device.
Don't forget to save the seed.

You can use both.
But now that the version for windows has been released, the official wallet will be Decrediton.
I think paymetheus will not be updated.
