What is Decred? Decentralized Blockchain Governance https://coincentral.com/decred-lowdown-decentralized-blockchain-governance/Decred (DCR) is a cryptocurrency that prioritizes decentralized governance and decision making on the blockchain. The goal is to build a cryptocurrency that runs autonomously, with improvements voted on and enacted directly by the miners and holders of the currency. Decred incorporates some fundamental changes from the Bitcoin protocol that it’s based on in order to accomplish these decentralizing goals. Decred launched its mainnet on February 8, 2016 to mixed reviews from crypto enthusiasts. For some, Decred represented everything Bitcoin was supposed to be from the outset. It was seen as the pinnacle of decentralization and democratic decision making for a peer-to-peer network, allowing it to respond quickly to attacks and community requests for new features. On the other hand, many skeptics question what Decred brings to the table that’s truly new and unique. Other cryptocurrencies have mechanisms for incorporating community needs, and it’s not entirely clear why you would choose to use Decred over a more established currency. Decred’s developers and community believe Decred’s protocol for incorporating improvements and changes will allow it to become the optimal cryptocurrency on the market in the long run. Over time, they claim Decred will be the most responsive to the needs of future cryptocurrency users, and that will make Decred the foremost coin based on user influence. Currently, nearly two years into the Decred experiment, DCR’s market cap sits in the low 30s in terms of ranking for cryptocurrencies, with a total market capitalization of around $354 million, according to CoinMarketCap..... Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

Ty for update as well but is it 100% mandatory or is this something we can forego for now? I know it is probably recommended but I try to touch my wallets as little as possible lol. |

I was looking for some coins for long term and twitter helped to figure out DCR as one of the best options for few months holding. Everyone is agreed on next year only highly usable and solid project will remain in the game and DCR is strong enough to remain among those.

170$ in next 24h I'm not too optimistic as you related to 24h, however but I expect Decred in $300 usd in short-term as well. Very well positioned. Just invested in this coin, I think it has a great future. The hybrid PoW - PoS is a good balance |

Have some people news on this site ?
Decred with new features can be a good investment. Low volume and low coin supply this is what I like especially with ongoing development and fair history. I see only way for Decred which is up. |

The ROI of a ticket is measured in decred. Higher or lower decred price does not affect ROI. You spend more fiat for the ticket and earn more when it votes. Of course, lower decred ticket price encourages staking, which increases locked amount and might affect coin price a while later. |

i liked this project and tried staking function with 1 ticket. after 3 months i melt my invested btc, then i was dissappointed. but i know, after 4-5 month in '18 summer price will go double. i will re-invest if i reserved 10k usd again

This is imo one the lowest prices you are gonna have (once this dip is over), I've been following this coin for a while and it's still undervalued. |

I'm just looking at DEcred as a whole. How do they intend to identify themselves as they continue to grow? They are a very talented team, but are yet to really get our and market the coin. When they do, will they be promoting DEcred as a store of wealth type of coin?? Or are they intending it to be a coin for everyday use. I'm thinking with the limited supply and also the fact that most supply will be tired up in tickets at any one time, that it'll be a store of wealth coin. If this is the case then privacy features are critical or you miss the target market your intending to capture. Looking forward to potentially investing, just would like someone to explain DEcred goal or intention of how they'll market the coin.
