The transactions are instant. What you have experienced was probably a faulty with the faucet, it is still imperfect. Andy is working on it... but it might take some time. Remember this is a test network, and we periodically are interrupting it for maintenance, so use it only as a preview, not final product.

Why are you saying that txs are instant? 60 seconds are far from instant.

From whitepaper:

The selection takes place every 60s, the default  block to be generation value. Within this timeframe all the transactions are verified and stored in node’s local memory. Once the 60s expire, an node with higher timestamp expressed in points will be selected and that particular account signs the block an broadcasts the update action to the network.
