It is not actually bad if you invest here in altcoin you just have to be aware and smart for choosing the right ICO. If you search about the difference between Altcoin and Bitcoin you will see that these two are almost the same. So if you want to invest in either of the two you won't have regrets.

If you are looking for a coin with huge potential in 2018, check out Unitus (UIS)

The best place to currently trade UIS is cryptopia. Do not trade UIS on yobit because they did not cooperate regarding the argon2d fork back in June 2017 and are on the wrong chain. A lot of coins have this problem with them. UIS will also be listed on the new altcoin exchange blockbid.com.au in early 2018 which is poised to be one of the biggest altcoin exchanges around. I think next and litecoin is more longer than etherium but yes i agree with you most favorably in etherium they are the second best crypto currency in the world so you can count on them

Basically for a more conservative approach when investing, the top 10 altcoins could be a good start. They are more stabilized in price but there is one caveat, room for growth is too limited. These coins in the top 10 have usually grown to a very large percentage, and entering them now would be settling for a very long term hold before you can see gains, except for BTC of course.

If you're more into the volatility and want to have several hundreds of percentage for investment growth, you might as well look at the coins below the top 50-100. yup, ethereum is the second in cryptocurrency world, now is the best time to buy it, the price is not stable yet because it has little problem in network that i heard, ethereum will be the next bitcoin, the development in this altcoin is really amazing and need to be considered.

You are so wrong, in so many ways. BTC is the leading coin, it has a name, an image. Many people refer to cryptocurrencies just as "bitcoins" because that's the most famous one.

However, there are many revolutionary ideas in so many other altcoins. Some of them are way better than BTC in the sense that they fill the gaps that BTC will never be able fill.

The PoW mechanism won't last for ever, in fact I believe it will soon be rendered obsolete by the rise of the new PoS 3.0 coins, like DMD and many others.

Even ETH has a roadmap that plans for a transition to PoS.

So, altcoins are here to stay!
