Well if the problems were great enough he wouldn't have means to pay back, right?  So scamming becomes a viable option in that case.  But it looks for all intents and purposes that Master-P took out an interest-free loan from unwilling lenders.  I still can't figure out a good narrative for what happened here.  He's obviously paying the bitcoin back, albeit slowly, so he has it and has not spent it.  Maybe because he got scared?  I just shake my head at this.

He did get scared (larger payouts started only after the doxing threats) and he hasn't paid all of it back yet. So far there is no indication of this being anything other than a scam that turned sour, and he's still trying to drag this out. Perhaps hoping that some victims won't be able to sign a message for TECSHARE and get the dox.

I would also suspect that this is not his only scam so he might be inclined to pay 100% back to avoid further digging in his past.

I messaged the acct that has been offline for a few days. He has about 23 hours left to at least communicate and if nothing i dump the dox to the public. Im trying to be fair and give him a chance to respond before i make everything public and talk to the authorities

I'd say. Thanks for the short but brief run down. If it goes onto 100 pages here I would think there is more to this then what is showing just on the few threads created. This story seems to be far from over and I think Gleb gave up on this one since masterp has already payout out half of what was owed.

Master-P has a large number of alts, used those alts to trade with others, mostly buying BTC using master-P as escrow.

someone who was able to sign a message with one of master-p's addresses claimed that his account was sold ~2 months ago and included in the sale was his private keys to his GPG key and all BTC addresses

Not long after the above person appeared, someone claiming to be the "real master-P" who also signed a message from one of master-P's btc addresses claimed that he had been hacked a few weeks ago, claimed that whoever hacked him was having people send BTC to master-P's various addresses (even previously unused ones). This person claims to not have proper backups and that the "hacker" changed the encryption password to his wallet, preventing him from accessing the BTC he held. Since then it has been determined that master-P's dox is known by a few people and this has been used to get master-P to slowly repay a portion of the BTC that he stole from others. The hacker sent the BTC contained in master-P's wallet to a bitstamp address several days after it was claimed that master-P's wallet was hacked

Now the end of this can be filed away with and closure can be had for the ones that can now go to his door and demand payment either in person or by a lawyer in that guys country.

I think it worked out for the victims since he obviously feared the doxxing. They received back around half of their damage. I believe when he would have been doxxed then there would be no reason for him anymore to pay back. He would wait until he gets sued since he was doxxed already anyway. Damage done, nothing to fear anymore. Because chances are really not small that he would have been sued never.

So this is probably why he paid back half of the losses so nobody can sue him for being under the allowed limit to be able to sue in his country. I think it has to be an amount over $5000 usd which is probably a lot more in Canadian exchange to be able to put up a case per individual to claim it as damages.
